As a portuguese who saw Ugarte play week in week out for years, he´s very underrated on the ball, without it, he´s a monster. Right now he´s the difference between top 4 and a 6th place.

Ugarte for me brings a few intangibles like intensity and fighting spirit. Combine it with his ability to win a tackle he becomes invaluable. Past few seasons we've had trouble if the opposition builds momentum in possession and its translated into a big problem in being unable to hold onto leads.

What people don’t get is that your 6 must not be the build up cog. At Madrid, Kroos had that role, and Casemiro usually pushed up and was used as a decoy to drag players while also being used to bounce passes around… At United we now have Onana, Lisandro, deligt, yoro, Dalot, mazraoui, Shaw, amass, Mainoo who all are adept at buildup. The 2-4 setup also utilizes this. Ugarte has a whole lot to offer and we have to maximize the skill set. Kante was almost indispensable as a DM but he almost never had to buildup role. PLAYING TO STRENGTHS IS KEY
Ball knowledge. Players like Busquets, Rodri and Carrick are rare. As long as he can link up play he'll do just fine in build up.
So true. I actually realized a week ago that ten hag really wanted Casemiro. The build up burden is already taken up by every other deep player which means eth wants a serial ball winner profile in that pivot role instead of a regista like Rodri or busquets
Disagree that the n6 NEED to be a destroyer.
Study the case of Carrick, Busquets, Pirlo, Xabi alonso or Pjanic.
However, a deep 6 playmaker needs two energetic N°8s in front of him... targeting spaces between the lines to get his passes (like Iniesta,XAVI or Pogba,Marchisio)
In our case, Bruno is a true N°9. He wants to make things happen and can quickly lose a ball because of risky passes. That's not wrong, but it needs a destroyer behind him like Ugarte. And a fresh Mainoo. So it will work.
A deep playmaker doesnt fit into our system, but it fits in other teams.
At the end of the day, we all agree that Ugarte is the profile we need with this system. Really hope we sign him ❤🔥
@@Mopark25I’d add Kroos to that list as well. These guys have an incredible ability to have been blessed with such passing range and accuracy. It makes them virtually impossible to press IMO. Such players are like once in a generation type of player.
@@kirabobenedict6570the problem is that Casimiro legs have gone and despite his best efforts to lose weight and get lean, and sharp, he looks easily bypassed at times.
This is beginning to be a very good tactical setup. Questions remain around whether this approach is what ten hag goes with, and of course injuries/poor form. But what matters is we are moving in the right direction and signing players that fit a system and a clear plan.
If United get Ugarte its a really good signing but don't expect him to be a Rodri or a Busquets type of player.

Probably stopped doing it because of the amount of time needed for editing and post production work...it's not like speeding 2x or more time editing will get him more views...time is money and all that...this lower touch option probably lets him make more overall content with the same available time

If you've got Collyer, Ugarte and Casemiro, that's 3 defensive midfielders. Just like London buses, you wait years for 1 and then 3 turn up at once. Plus D mids are darn expensive a là Caicedo, so Ugarte is a great deal.

Ugarte fills a roll MUFC lacks, and does it well. Ugarte has everything Casemiro has lost. Case still has his technic, but the legs and fire are gone. Let him play as Fat Frank Lampard or put someone else on match day team sheet.

When INEOS convinced Bayern to sell de Ligt....DE LIGT AND MAZRAOUI for a combined total of 70million Euros (not pounds), I'm sure it wont be as difficult negotiating with incompetent Qatari businessmen

Our best hope is that they will effectively do a swap with Sancho and the deals will be separate but effectively net zero. They want Sancho, Sancho wants the move and we want Ugarte but don’t want to pay that fee.

United and casemiro especially missed Fred's legs and intensity in midfield last season. Ugarte could be the perfect signing to fix our issues off the ball in midfield and to get the best out of mainoo, especially with better ball playing defenders such as de ligt, yoro & mazraoui coming in to the side

Only player J see Ugarte working with is Mainoo. That is because Mainoo makes good decisions with the ball. Otherwise, Ugarte next to Casemiro is just too risky. They’d win the ball back, but they’d lose it immediately. It’s a basketball game with that combination.
He will be an amazing signing
Ugarte is an explosive Casemiro.
Casemiro did really in his first season.
Then slowly started losing pace with the high tempo of PL.
He's still very intelligent in positionning and clutch passing.
But in terms of pressing, Ugarte would fill that gap.
Ugarte as a starter, and Casemiro as a very good sub for the last 20-30 minutes
Reminder that Eriksen & Casemiro are 99% leaving next summer, so bringing in Ugarte from now will establish our spine if we're qualifying for ChampionsLeague.
With Eriksen + Casemiro out next summer (with 550,000 pounds wage out), we can look into an experienced deep playmaker like DeJong, who will only have 1 year left in his contract next summer.
Casimiro still has another year to go on his deal. Erikson, Maguire and Lindleof are the guys almost certain to leave on frees.

Note that his salaray is at 700,000 per week. That's why i mentionned Casemiro & Eriksen because they're one of the highest paid players in our squad, and not doing a crucial job.
So.. To bring DeJong, we must first offload our big mass salary.

I hope we can get this signing sealed. I love this "dirty work" midfielders. I would prefer Amad on the right wing and Garna on the left wing.
I can really see the benefit of bringing in a ball winner like Ugarte this season to act as a true '6' - his defensive statistics are insane - and in the future targeting a someone who can really pull off that deep lying playmaker role, giving us the same tactical versatility in the DM position as we do at '9' with Zirkzee/Hojlund. Carl Anka of the Athletic has been strongly hinting that we could be entering a very competitive race to bring in Adam Wharton next summer.
I like the 2 ball winning midfielders but switching Bruno to right wing you leave Garnacho on the bench.... Not sure i want that... Considering right wing this season should be Garnacho and Amad, though i think maybe they could play the 10?

He’s definitely an enforcer. Noticed he also likes to push the ball up the field, but he puts his head down and doesn’t pass very well in such a situation. He’s still raw in that regard so hopefully ten hag can coach him up to be better at that.

He has lower body strength to make tackle, closing down opponent fast. But he need to build his upper body muscle to win duel more, if he Will be able to do that than he Will be ball winning machine

I think Ederson would offer more to the team overall, more complete and can go forward and get a goal if necessary.

I would love to see videos of how Dave would combat someone like Ugarte if we actually signed him. If we had to face him, what would your game plan be? Would it be to bypass him by playing the ball long? Play the ball down the wings or would it be to stand off him and let him have the ball and mark everyone else off and hope he passes blindly/shoots from range?

I'm pretty sure we need more than him. Let's be real. This is the first steps in building the squad. The floor has been elevated a little but it's not correct yet I doubt. Watching Madrid last night they have etter players in almost every position apart from Bruno and Martinez (arguably Shaw too).

Ugarte gets United within touching distance of having the squad ETH has always wanted. If they really wanted to, United could address these positions short term with transfers that don't fit INEO's structure and they could do it for next to no transfer fee:

CM(8) - Adrien Rabiot (29)- Free Transfer (Only if they sell Christian Eriksen)

In 10 seasons, Luke Shaw has missed almost if not more than 50% of Man Utd matches. How is that guy still a UTD player??
Coz when he is available he is the best lb in the league. Tho tbf its time ig to sell him. He's 29 this season and if his injuries keep occuring then he may hv only a couple more yrs of football. Will probably keep him for 1 more yr to mentor amass
@@ethangomes336 You can't consider someone the best when he is not available half of the time. Availability trumps ability, that's why someone like McT can play over 500 games and Abou Diaby couldn't touch 250.
@@gerald-alexanderbassey3210 As i said in ten hag's 1st season he was way more available to the point when martinez was out luke shaw was the one playing cb in his absence and is also part of the reason rashford had the goal streak tht season. But last season with shaw gone, rashford struggled massively (ofc im not saying tht was the only reason rashford was so poor).

He’s a great all rounder at LB, good defensively but a threat going forward too in the left inside channel when playing as a wing back. Plus he can play left centre half in a three at the back. He’s got quality in all those roles … vs what we’d get for him in transfer value. Why ship him out when it wouldn’t return what he’s worth?
I would love Ugarte but he would not be my top 3 choice of midfielder to bring in. United NEED one tho so if Ugarte come it will be great

Having a ball winning midfielder that is limited in his ability to progress the ball by himself is counterproductive as it forces another midfielder being close to progress the ball limiting the “counter attacking” ten hag envisions.

What will happen to Ugarte when Ten Hag is sacked by Christmas? Once we replace Ten Fraud we might end up with a manager who doesnt want a double pivot and then we will look for a Rodri, Vitinha type and Ugarte will be a £50m waste. We could get Southgate and then we will play 10 at the back so Ugarte could be first on the team sheet.

Ugarte VS sekou Kone ..Ugarte is strictly a defensive machine and Sekou Kone is perfect both at defensive stats and attacking attributes..Kone is a better midfield package .If all development of Kone is well catered for, he will be a better midfielder than Ugarte say 2 , 3 years time
I would go for Fofana as a cheaper alternative, also for another cm like Exequiel Palacios who can play the ball forward while being a physical in midfield.

What do United do about the Rashford problem? Just hoping he will regain confidence and trusting him obviously hasn't helped. Should Ten Hag drop him for an extended period and try to make him hungry/angry to see if it gets something out of him? No it doesn't make sense. If you take our current first team squad, we have 17 players who are of the age where they need to be registered in the A squad list for Uefa competitions, 15 for the PL as Hojlund and Yoro can be added for the PL B list but not Uefa (Haven't been here 2 seasons so don't qualify for B list). That means already as it is we have too many players and have to sell, most likely to be Pellistri. Alternatively, we would have to not register one of those 17 for Uefa competitions, which is not a good idea for squad harmony. If we want to add any more players it means selling and additional player or not registering another one.
Currently our midfield options on the A list are:
Casemiro
Mount
Eriksen
McTominay
We would struggle to move on any of the first three because of the wages they are on and we can't move McTominay on or we would have to leave a squad place open, defeating the purpose of selling in first place.
We will also have Mainoo via the B list, and likely Collyer coming through also.
So bottom line, we have depth at CM as it is, and adding another midfielder would be asinine as it would leave us with less depth than we need elsewhere.
The only position we should even consider signing at this point would be a left footed CB who can also provide cover at left back, Hermoso being a suitable option. But even then there's really nobody else in the squad that we are likely to be able to move on to make space for him. Lindelof maybe being one we have a slim chance with but also unlikely given his wages.
