She didn't "connect the dots", she weaved a story that is appealing to her libertarian "free market" capitalist audience and their ideology. BItcoin is nothing but empty speculation and she will never blurt that out to her audience. I'm wondering why she says things that are critical of people like Peter Theil, she seems just like him, and most of her ideology is very similar.

Big YES to Whitney's comment regarding alt media relying on click bait. The amount of scare headlines is amazing. Further these alt media presenters often do little more than read major media stories and then laugh about how stupid it is. Which only gives the propaganda a big boost with a laugh.

  • @jksmithiii

Peter, this format that includes bright people like Mark and Whitney is really increasingly superior to these media formats depending on a channel driven by a single personality. Consumers are no longer passive and will increasingly scrutinize all information they consume. I bet legacy media and politicians despise the internet, and would like to shut down this information rail just like evil forces want to shut down bitcoin rails. Nobody can control the narrative anymore. Great work Peter.

To note here is that AI at this point is still at a low level, not very intelligent at all.
I’m a little concerned about the future - when AI will get better and better and we won’t be able to distinguish anymore
For example when you let AI run over an image several times it seems to get more and more aggressive.

Bit coin is trackabel taxable and hackable and if it gose bankrupt you just have a server farm, a gold coin is heavy but the government can't just delete it if they don't like you.
Fix free market and once free country in 8 easy steps do:
      1. Retun gold standard repriced to repay its debts to zero
      2. Reinstalling item veto act and government buget limits on borrowing (add taxpayer potition vote on budgeting )
      3. Term limits and prison time for any proven corruption
      4. Workers profit sharing and imployers roth/life policy match program on all imployes.
tax benifits to employers holding more imployes per profit multiple. ( support middle class by sharing more of capitalism to those that help build it)
      5. Better Antitrust laws to stop big business from impeding inavations from new ones forming. ( when more money is spent trying to destroy compitition than building better products you have a monopoly, Stimulate small buisness and reduce barriers to entry)
      6. Return ethics, religion, trades and money education to mandatory class in school
      7. Transfer sosecurity premiums from anyone under 50 to a privet competitive program that is not payed for by government in any way.
Ssi is 1/3 us deficit unsustainable spending.
( Creat public employers match pay retirment programs, roth/life. End govermant sosalisam programs if there not for disabilities. In the past it was the churchs job)
      8. End the fed and desintralize all banking to local member owned free market and transperant publicly disclosed debt to asset holdings in each one. If they over extend, they would be allowed to fail as trancparncy (not a mobster fed) allows everyone can see that other banks are fine and would not run on banks but just tranfer to more stable bank.

Memes are incredibly powerful. Bad memes even more so. Confirmation bias is everywhere. People are drunk on feeling they're right. Memes are like genes in that they do not take dominance for the benefit of the individual, or the benefit of the society either.... terrible fkn ideas have possessed populations for hundreds of years before finally dying. That's bcuz memes are viral. Nuance is antiviral. I love John Carvallo for pointing that out to us. Nuance is what's needed. Reject absolutism of any kind. The Middle Way is the way. Those who can hold two ideas in their head at the same time while accepting neither will possess a remarkable ability. This ability will be increasingly sought after going forward.

    • @sallux5574

Love what you wrote there! But still...there is an exception regarding absolutism imho. That is, "freedom of speech" should be absolute. Even if it's hateful speech. Such an arbitrary decision to what's hateful or not, should not be left to a judge as they can be corrupted themselves to align with government powers...(edit: you could call this a nuance to the absolutism argument ;) )

ETFs are no different than CBDCs when the wallet implementations are multisig and ultimately settled under the BTC blockchain via the miltisig counter party relationship as long as the tools sets are in place for individual and regulatory oversight. This all can happen with Bitcoin as the ONLY base layer of the monetary systems.

Bitcoin does have a big scaling problem. I know alt-coins are taboo to maximalists but the lightning network has so far failed to deliver.
Maximalists would probably do best to explain that a feature of money is to be a standard. No one has reinvented the wheel but there in fact have been a few important improvements made since the first chariots rolled on the steppe.
Don't concern yourself with public opinion. These simple life forms will drive you mad if you try to engage them with reason. They are completely incapable of exscaping the paradigm they have been inculcated with. It's best to avoid contact as much as possible...

Been listening to Webb over two years and am in thrall of her encyclopaedic overviews. However she always has a " but" to her arguments. Ie: Trump on wall building, Musk involved with Pentagon etc. She points out legit faults but fails to elucidate solutions. Tad socialist left- leaner imo.

Whitney Webb says people should think critically again. That's a nice way of saying that people are not critical thinking now.
Critical Thinking is not intermittent alternating with binary thinking. Once one knows or learn Critical Thinking, it becomes the best and only way to think, no backsliding to non-critical lame thinking.
An ad for Apple(?), used the slogan "Think different." which was/is improper use of English. Correct use of verbs & adverbs, the slogan should have been "Think differently." It's strange to encourage thinking but against the proper use of English grammar taught in grade school or ESL classes.
Young children heard or saw this ubiquitous ad & mimicked the wrong English grammar
This is another example of dumbing-down kids.

I love the reminder by you guys (and lyn, and mezinkis, and others) that Bitcoin is not actually fighting the dollar. Bitcoin is M zero. That means it's not a currency fight, it's a base money fight. The preliminary bought will be a boxing match against gold, and then it will be ready to take on the reigning champ (the United States Treasury market) and become the undisputed champion of the world. M zero is the goal, not currency. From there, all things are possible

Another thing that people should be aware of that at least in the last 2 years there is not such thing as "Indipendent Media" per se or as a Lable of some kind. As far as i see it there are a few. And the rest is also money and viewer oriented as traditional media is. This could be Tucker and also others that broke out of main stream media, but also Whitney and many more, that where voices of awareness and now with money comes in ,are slowly but "corrupted" by it. Big streamers that had never any real agenda left or right, seams to be affected, manipulated, paid or just aware of talking politics for more clicks and with this more money. So, we have to be very carefull with the term indipendent Media in the near term. If money rulez so called indipendet media, we are f**ked as we where before.

As 80% of all bitcoin mining takes place in China, I'd say 80% is a majority number that can't be ignored. Too bad BTC heads are so closed minded that they won't even entertain any other thought that it's the answer to all. I like XRP, but I don't think BTC has to fail for my choice in coin to succeed. Bitcoiners think theirs should be the only one. It's just odd

    • @robertdiggins7578
      @robertdiggins7578 8 місяців тому

@@ewetoobblowzdogg8410I'm not any coiner. Implementation of mining farms wouldn't take much time if funds were put into it.
That said, this false dichotomy is NOT the subject of the discussion. What they're discussing is the fat cats' ability to use BTC (the most well known name/coin) to undermine the goal of the people who have been promoting the use of block chain coins as an alternative CURRENCY.
Blackrock et al are trying to coopt BTC as a commodity that's tied to the dollar, to get the world who've been trading oil in other currencies (BRICKS nations).
It doesn't matter which coin they use, if they use enough capital and political power to suck people in and then trap them into a massive control system, which is a huge irony, since the bitcoiners and other coiners are interested in an alternative CURRENCY.
THAT'S the difference you/we should be concerned about. Is there another way to have an alternative currency?
It seems like currency might not be as important, IMO, as the possession of assets that can protect people from inflation better than valuable currencies, including all the ones (even big daddy BTC OR XRP OR WHATEVER STABLE COIN).
I think they're just talking about the old cycle of better mouse, better mouse trap, better mouse, better mouse trap.
I think the answer is drowning the Davos crowd in our urine. 🧐

exactly: plus, real life is far more nuanced than WW likes to portray. For example: did you know that George Washington was the child of a banking family and held significant stock in the London Bank while he was serving as General of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War? This is just one of thousands Look it up.... Can't you just hear Whitney calling out old Georgie "He is supposedly planning on leading the 'revolution' in fighting the Red Coats while his fortune is all tied up in British assets... aheeemmm... and don't get me started on Benjamin Franklin.. the secret society subversive who spends more time hobnobbing with French dignitaries than he ever plans on spending in Philadelphia.." you get the idea... I think this info is important and well researched and needs to be considered, but real life is way more nuanced..

Great show. So 1st off Whitney Rocks! 2nd, thoughts on Black Rock and master plan with btc. It could be as simple as this… if bitcoin is the alternative, or means of opting out of traditional finance or CBDC’s, they simply acquire it faster than the masses wake up to what it actually is. With the ETFs sucking up 10x daily issuance and the halving in April… soon most will feel priced out and bitcoin could be seen as status for the rich instead. BUY SPOT NOT ETFS!!!
