Get a drill brush attachment and a spray bottle, saturate the seats with the solution, agitate the stains with the drill brush until it starts to be foamy, then extract with the bissell pro.
Patrick E - Molds need a combination of stale air and moist environment. Otherwise they can't develop. Deny one or preferably both of them and you'll be trouble free. By far the best solution when the car is not in daily use under ideal conditions. Use a dehumidifier. Let it work overnight, not only it will reduce the moist levels considerably. But will also circulate air while at it. The sheer sensation of comfort inside can only be felt by the users. While left working overnight, I've seen full 5 liter reservoir come out of cars. Which is rather impressive considering the relatively small volume of a car interior! ;-)

Hi Stephanie, it really did. Watched a couple of vids on this at the weekend but yours was by far the best and it became a no-brainer. Cheers from the UK! :-). Should get mine by the weekend.
This was a brilliant video, I was expecting good results but was blown away by how great they turned out. You’ve convinced me to do my ugly lounge that I’d given up on 🙄😂💪🏼
I’ve also used this bissell cleaner (and method) but I definitely recommend spraying the cleaner on separately and only using hot water in the bissell. I love the results I’ve gotten. Just make sure you do plenty of dry passes and press firmly to get out as much water as possible. If you don’t rinse the solution out then every time the fabric gets wet the cleaner in gets reactivated and makes your car seats act like a cleaning rag. I use a spray bottle with water and laundry detergent and a little oxi-clean (and sometimes a drill brush but and soft brush works with a little elbow grease) but I’ve also used degreaser after I got actual mechanical grease on my seats and it was like magic. I try to do this as early as I can in the day and leave the windows and doors open to let everything fully dry. To clean the headliner of just use a barely damp rag, and don’t spray the headliner but just spray the rag and rub gently until you get it. I know some people recommend removing the seats to save your back and give you better access to clean them and sun them, if you decide to do that you’ll want to disconnect the negative terminal on your car battery 20 minutes before because you’ll need to disconnect the plug for airbags in the seat, then you unbolt and you’re good to go. Hope this helps next time or helps someone else! You did awesome and I definitely know what it’s like when the little ones are more like little tornados through the back seat.
Deep stains from spills like you showed do benefit from vacuum extraction. Always dry vacuum first, of course. For lighter, quick touch-ups, Bissell makes a very good $5 foam upholstery cleaner with a built in brush. Good for floor mats too!. Use towels after cleaning to absorb both the dirt and moisture. Usually dries in under one hour!
Quality microfibers. Wet one and rinse out, It should just be damp. Use the wet one to wipe the roof and the dry one afterwards. Works best with hot water. For stubborn stains just spray the spot with either the stuff bissel gave you or any other carpet cleaner. For stubborn stain dab a little alcohol on the spot. Also try to use a soft bristle brush to get all the dust off the roof before starting, I use my vacuum with the white brush attachment.
hi i just brought the same machine ... i ready need to do the roof of inside of my car as it got dirt marks everywhere any tips as you mention dont use the spot cleaner
Hi Gareth, There are tons of comments on this video with people giving me their tips about how to clean the roof. I haven't done it yet. But, I think a spot cleaner is the way to go. :)
We just did the roof liner in our truck that was filthy - we used a can of multipurpose spray, let it sit for a few minutes. Then used a brush attachment on the drill on a slow speed and went over every inch - finally wipe over with clean cloths. Comes up beautiful. Don’t use the Bissell otherwise it will delaminate.
Good first try . Just my 2 cents to make your life much much easier and you come easily do all this work in less the half of the time with 5x better results . 1) buy drill brush attachments on eBay $9.99 (3pk) 2) spray all purpose cleaner soap liberally on the seat and I mean liberally (sewing the condition ) 3) use drill brush on a power drill (any home drill) , make couple of passes with drill in high speed u will see dark spots literally fade out in a second 4) use this water extractor and I guarantee u that your seats will brand new Good luck
So just spray a bottle of non diluted cleaner on the seats and let it sit? One of my home health clients is letting me borrow her spotbot so I can clean my car either today or tomorrow. Just don’t want to ruin my seats before I sell the car next year!
These things definitely come in handy! It's amazing on what these Bissell machines can do! Imma snag one of these myself cause in Missouri we get some nasty snow storms once in awhile and when there is snow there is salt and lots of it! And I definitely want to keep my 2018 ford escape nice n clean as possible! 👌 Thanks 4 the upload i enjoyed it
Had the F150, 2 boys also and also I use the cleaner as well, do yourself a favor- get seat covers also and wash them, it will save you a lot of pain I am sure
Good tip. I plan to sell the car sometime this year. So, I didn’t want to buy covers but I have a nice matching towel under their car seats now. It does make cleaning up so much easier. 👍 Next car will not have cloth seats or a cloth headliner. 😂
@@thiagocars yep, I only use water/ or an all rinse mix to rinse the prespray out since the prespray is usually alkaline you want to drop the PH so the fabrics stay soft and don't get crispy. Also helps to prevent stains from coming back by wicking through the foam.
If you are still having an issue with lingering stains try the LA Totally Awesome Degreaser from Dollar Tree. Spray the seat generously with it and clean with a microfiber towel and hot water and let dry.
This worked great for me! Only thing I did differently was use Car Guys Lighting Fast that I sprayed on first then scrubbed it in. I then used hot water and extracted it. The results were amazing! And it was on very light tan interior that dogs were in for years!
I've found that it doesn't really matter the type of extractor you use just the solution you use, the solution does most of the work, the extractor just sucks up the loose dirty. To clean the headliner, use a rag and a cleaner then scrub at it
It turned out awesome! Great video! My little one doesn't eat in any of the vehicles anymore. She is too messy lol she'll survive a short car ride without a snack. My little one could drink a sprite and some how there would be crumbs 😂
I've ordered one, it arrives today. Do you think you could do full indoor carpets with it? I bought it because my cat sometimes has nose bleeds but if its good wondering if it will do a whole room
Hi! It will clean carpet in a whole room. You’ll just have to do it on your hands and knees. This is a spot cleaner, so it’s small, lightweight and portable. But it works just as well as the big ones. 👍
On a summer’s day in Texas, just a few hours. It didn’t have an odor, other than the cleaner. Some people that have commented say they leave the heat on with the car running while it dries. I think I’d feel safer just waiting until it’s a sunny day above 70 F. And, in case anyone reading this doesn’t know, never leave the car running in a closed garage. 🙏
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with mine ! Doesn’t seem to lift any stains or discolouration out. I use the Bissel cleaning solution that came with it, hmm.
It's hard for me to know. But here's my first thoughts. Are you using hot water with it? Bissell also makes a pre-treat for tough stains. Also, when you use the Bissell, are you pressing down firmly so that it can get really good suction with the attachment.
Yes, I know someone who worked in a car wash years ago and he told me they used Dawn on the upholstery cleaning machine like this one. A single big bottle lasted a long time since only a couple of teaspoons were needed to clean a full car.
Ur a fuckin genius bro🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈🙈never would've thought to use that. So u use that after ur done cleaning right? That way the dirt doesn't stick that much🤣🤣🤣☝☝☝☝
Can you or someone help me out? I want to order one, but when I look up spot clean pro. There’s 2, one with “spot clean pro” on the vacuum, and one with “spot clean professional” is there a difference? They are different colours aswell?
I use these as well. I used the Bissell hand held steam cleaner on the stains first to losen the stains, sprayed the super clean on it, used the drill brush, than cleaned it up with hot water and wiped it down with a dry microfiber cloth. Works wonders
Nice work!! Maybe try removing the seats next time and put them where the sun hits them directly so they can dry up. Inside the car the seats could get stained due to the humidity or does the machine have enough power to suction and dry the seats?
They sure do although she was pre spraying not the correct way to use just spray and vac as you go in one direction no scrubbing she will wear out the brush in no time she deffo needs a lesson on how to use it.
Headliners are super delicate. Maybe just a spray bottle of dawn and water and just lightly blot and scrub very gently with a medium paintbrush or detailing brush and have a towel to wipe ASAP because any moisture will make the headliner adhesive come apart very quickly. For tight spaces you can just unbolt the seats and taken 'em out. Just disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 20 minutes if they have airbags so they discharge.
It seems like alot of people use a drill brush first to agitate the cotton then using the bissel. Either way you could be a detailer since you did the whole back mad fast 😂
Get a soft attachment for a cordless drill, and spin brush it on fast revs... after applying shampoo.. then clean it. Should make a difference for back seats.
that stain that u were seeing after you cleaned is residual dirt in the foam coming to the surface....if alot of that dirt is left in the whole interior will be stained and dirty again within a couple of week or months.
Try laundry detergent non HE with oxy or safe color bleach alternatives. Then use a drill and a drill brush and shampoo it head liner u gotta use a wet wash cloth with a little soapy laundry detergent on it and gently scrub then wipe dry
I love this tip! I wish I thought of this when my boys were in preschool. Luckily, they don’t really spill anything anymore. But this bath mat trick will definitely be worth a try. Especially if I finally buy a new car!
I've tried it on Japanese import red suede seats and it worked really well! Just use a soft bristle brush to agitate and make sure seats dry completely.
Thanks for the great review, are the car's seats wet after application since here in Scandinavian countries are almost 95% could and rainy and no sun and hot weather to dry the seats? Once again thanks for showing the solution :)
Hi Baktash. Hmmm, my husband is English. So, if your weather is similar to England’s, and it sounds like it is, I understand why you’re asking. The seats are left slightly damp. Which means it dried in an hour or two on a hot day (10 months of the year☀️☀️) in Texas. But, if I were in England with all the rain and clouds and limited access to covered garages, I’m not sure what I’d do. Maybe you can clean the back seats just before running errands when the back seats can dry from heat running. I’m sorry, I know damp is a mold risk in wet, northern countries, I wish I could be more helpful. 🤷♀️
@@AbbottsAtHome Thanks for the answer, Yeah here the weather is quite the same as England's. BTW I just ordered one from amazon lets see how it goes. Peace.
Sure, just make sure it’s safe for whatever you’re cleaning and not a foaming or sudsy type cleaner. My neighbor tried dish soap and it took forever for her to get all of that bubbly soap out of her couch. Don’t use dish soap. 😊
I know this video is a year old but I would appreciate if anyone could tell me where to plug this as I live in an apartment and cannot use and extension to get power. Is there a way to get power from the car instead
That makes sense. It's the same amount of suction power, for both brushes. But sense the surface area with the bigger brush is larger, it wouldn't be as strong. :)
@@AbbottsAtHome I did the roof of my car and couldn't believe it. The top had black on it from smoke and it all came off, looks brand new. This machine is awesome.
Good tip. I’m definitely doing this soon. I might order the pretreat to try too. We’ve just been to the beach. So, I’m sure I can use that as an excuse to get my new toy out again. 😂
great video in a pure form. i think you would get better results if you use a soft drill brush from like chemical guys and all purpose cleaner to agitate the upholstery and then extract using the bissel. greetings from the uk
Can anyone recommend different things to use for detergent instead of having to buy the Bissell stuff every time? Like washing machine powder mixture or something?
Buy brand totally awesome cleaner at dollar tree. The stuff is amazing. I use it all the time . It comes in concentrate bottle so watch how much you use or dilute
It’s called LA ‘s totally awesome , it comes in spray bottle but if you’re lucky they will sometimes have it in the larger gallon bottle . It is a concentrated all purpose cleaner and degreaser. Amazon sells it for like $7 but dollar tree carries it for $1 !! It is a yellowish liquid in bottle with red writing in the cleaner section of the dollar tree. Works great for lots of cleaning . But make sure you dilute it .

And fill the bissell with just hot water from the tap. So no detergent residue gets left behind

I've tried it on Japanese import red suede seats and it worked really well! Just use a soft bristle brush to agitate and make sure seats dry completely.
I have a massive modular sueded lounge sweet that I clean regularly all other Bissells seem to work well on this one should be the same
How long did the seats & carpet stay wet after?
On a warm, sunny day it takes just a couple hours. But leave the windows down so the moisture can evaporate out.
Peace.
Good luck with it.
baktash sharfa run the engine and heater on full to help dry the seats
@@Alexander_l322 Did it already bro, it did great! :)
This was great
Thanks
Could I use another cleaning solution instead of the bissell one please? Thanks
Sure, just make sure it’s safe for whatever you’re cleaning and not a foaming or sudsy type cleaner. My neighbor tried dish soap and it took forever for her to get all of that bubbly soap out of her couch. Don’t use dish soap. 😊
@@AbbottsAtHome thanks 😊
Great detail❤
Thanks!
You should’ve went front to back with the extracted so you would save a lot of time
Wow amazing review! Thanks so much 😁
Thanks!!!
Don't worry I have kids and they really messed up my car. Note to self get seat protectors 👍
First you need to brush the extract.
Do you remember how long it was before the seats was dry?
I wasn’t really checking on it. But, it was dry a few hours later when I drove the car. That was on an 80-degree, sunny day. 👍
I know this video is a year old but I would appreciate if anyone could tell me where to plug this as I live in an apartment and cannot use and extension to get power. Is there a way to get power from the car instead
I don't find the bigger brush with much suction power as the smaller brush. I just got mine.
OK, I’m gonna have to be brave and try it too. 😅 Did you use the big or little brush? Thanks for the tip!!!!
@@AbbottsAtHome the little one. I used a large sheet too to cover parts of the car so you don't get spray all over. I wish I could post a photo of it.
Good tip. I’m definitely doing this soon. I might order the pretreat to try too. We’ve just been to the beach. So, I’m sure I can use that as an excuse to get my new toy out again. 😂
You can use a drill with a brush attachment and it’ll work for the part of the doors
buy a cheap hand held steamer for the headliner..small areas at a time..itll come out. your car looks great!
OMG!!!! I'm getting one!
It is so good😊
Thank you for the tips!
Cool video but disappointed you didn't show us the choccy milk it extracted =)
Next time I'll remember! Thanks. :)
I would invest in some fake leather seat covers from Amazon. They're like 150 a set and keep your car much easier to clean
Definitely worth buying for my next car. Thanks for the tip!
great video in a pure form. i think you would get better results if you use a soft drill brush from like chemical guys and all purpose cleaner to agitate the upholstery and then extract using the bissel. greetings from the uk
Great tips. Thanks!
This is my go-to car vacuum :) Love the lightweight and easy handle design
@t
Very informative maybe buy it
Love it thanks heaps. Would love to hit it, then spray it down with some 3M Scotchguard.
Good idea!!!
@@janeleslie4192 never seen that before. What sort of product is it like and I'll try find something similar, is it like dawn?
Thanks so much for the reply too 👍 I very much appreciate it
It’s called LA ‘s totally awesome , it comes in spray bottle but if you’re lucky they will sometimes have it in the larger gallon bottle .
@@janeleslie4192 Thanks for that. The reviews online for that stuff are amazing!
Omg ! Great job!
I used this on top and doors worked great!
Really?! 👍 Now I kinda want to try, but I’m still nervous. Did you do the top the exact same way I did the seats?
@@AbbottsAtHome gotta be quick on the top otherwise the heat from the water will unstick the glue that holds your lining up and you'll end up with a major sag it's doable just be quick or can spot clean in the worst areas 👍
@@JordanOpitz Good tip! I'd rather have chocolate milk dots than that liner hanging down. :)
@@JordanOpitz Would using colder water on the headliner help to prevent sagging?
I’m thinking of buying one just to clean my car.
Totally worth it, in my opinion. 👍
Mind Blown...
big improvement!!!
I had someone poop in my car. I used The foam upholstery cleaner.
Yikes, I just cleaned baby poo off a chair with mine. Good times. 😊
Thanks for sharing
🙏🙏
add oxiclean cheach out chirsfix head liner cleaning
I'm young and I want my grandma to get one so I can clean her car because she ignores it
You’re a nice grandkid. 😊
Thank you! Great video!
Thanks, Gabriel!!
