You can tell they outsourced the animation to a group of people that have no business animating anything when they see a front facing Mr Crocker and go "Yeah, this works."

How to fix this reboot 1) Have the whole thing be animated. Making it live action limits the premise,2) Have Timmy's memory be erased 3) Give the new kids a magic 9 ball and have Cosmo and Wanda come out of that 4) Try harder to be true to the original continuity. Explain the wearabouts of Chloe, Show how other characters like Trixie Tang showed up rather than awkwardly putting in photos from the original series.
You should have written the show
How to REALLY fix this reboot: 1) take it out back 2) Old Yeller it 3) bury in an unmarked grave 4) press F to give respects.

My opinion, the most OUTRAGEOUS part of this is that Roy DOES NOT deserve Fairies.

Butch Hartman was the executive producer along with someone else. But I genuinely do not believe that this show is his fault, my personal belief id that he faced tons of executive interference and deadlines which he could not meet without drastically cutting corners. It wouldnt be the first time nickelodeon has become the worst network.

Timmy giving away his fairies would have made more sense if it was temporary like "I can't bring you to college with me, surely I can leave you with someone until I return". Maybe by the end of the show Cosmo and Wanda decide to stay with their new kids, and all this time away helps Timmy realize that it's time to move on.
Maybe Timmy gets away with this because he either cashed in a favor from Jorgen, or did this behind his back (it wouldn't be the first time someone gets away with breaking the rules by just hiding it from Jorgen), and that becomes a conflict the new kids have to deal with.
I honestly thought this was what Timmy was doing, giving away his Fairies temporarily until he comes back from College. I didnt know that he gave away Cosmo and Wanda permanently. This made me angry
My main problem with the show is ironically the thing everyone likes: Cosmo and Wanda's relationship - *here's why.*
Back when the show was popular the major thing was Stupid Husband, Smart Wife, so it was a practical subversion of the trope to have C&W not only love each other but share the idiocy together. It worked, all was right with the universe.
Hell, even when Cosmo got a few notches dumber they loved each other. And then they morphed into Nag and Stupid, then stayed there for the rest of time and in public consciousness until the show mercifully got taken to the Nicktoon Graveyard.
Now they're back to Lovey Dovey Buddy Couple and want to stay with Timmy? When did that happen?! How?!

So let me get this straight:
Turner gets mad when he had to share his fairies with little miss mary sue, but here he just gives them away without a care?
The drawings for all of these characters were made in the 90s, when 2D animation was the ONLY animation, and things were still drawn by hand. As a result of this, animators tried to fit every aspect of a character within reason on only one side of them because actions were usually drawn as if it was a camera recording what was going on from a 3rd person's perspective. This worked because it was the only thing available and people didn't expect for a 3D to ever happen, so decades and decades of 2D animation developed standards and examples for artists to determine how to best draw a character in 2D that still looks realistic enough for them to do "3D" movements on a 2D plane.
And they completely threw this out the window with that front facing Crocker!!!!!!

This is a 90s drawing that just doesn't not work in fake 2D 3D animation!!!! They're trying to shove a floppy disk into a USB-C port!!!

@@incrediblesnn 3d animation was also at its development stage in the 90s, and wouldn't be perfected until like the 2000s or 2010s. and for television it wasn't viable in the 90s, it was done but it was pretty rudimentary, expensive and didn't look great. stop-motion was and still is expensive, also not all that viable for television with such a limited budget, it also takes way too long for a show meant for television most of the time. at the time 2d was the only animation that was cost effective.

*_True story: I looked into line producers, which I thought draw the outlines on animated characters but they are really people who sort out the budget of a TV show or a movie. The Fairly OddParents had FOUR line producers throughout its entire 15-year run, and Fairly Odder has no credited line producer._* When I said to my mom that Fairly Odder had no budget or brain cells, I did not know how right I was until I found out this show had no line producer. The four ways to fix this reboot
1. Make it animated
2. Make it follow Timmy’s children from the end of channel chasers
3. End the original series at channel chasers
4. Don’t make this reboot at all

I really don't like the cartoon footage being in the live action version. Making only the Fairies as drawings makes sense. Putting in. Drawings and having the characters acknowledge it as themselves is not good. It should be one cohesive world.

If we were to have gotten another Fairly Oddparents Reboot, here's what we SHOULD have gotten:
Just after the end of Channel Chasers, still animated, we see what Timmy's kids wanna do with Cosmo and Wanda. No live action bullshit, no laugh tracks, better animation, and it better writing. It might also let us know if it was Trixie or Tootie that Timmy married in the future. THAT'S what we should have gotten instead of this hot garbage.
Feel free to make suggestions in the replies.
Here’s my take on how would I try would fix this:
First of all animate this
We get to see everyone all grown up and changed. I wanted to give old characters happy endings for the most part.
AJ could be an up and coming inventor and professor. He actually teaches at Princeton. When he has the time he comes back to the original school from the show to teach science experiments.
Chester has made his way out of poverty and is now the owner of the fastest growing business in the world. With his new found wealth he donates money to people in need.
I wanted the villains become more of the supporting cast. We’ve seen their antics for 20 years. I feel like we need new antagonists to help freshen the series up.
Crocker would retire from teaching. He’s not nearly as obsessed with fairies and stalking Timmy. However he’s still interested in research on other magical beings and wrote a book on his findings. He’s been around the world learning about other myths and folklore.
Vicky got some much needed counseling and feels terrible about what she did to Timmy all those years ago.
Here’s my Idea for Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda:
Timmy and Vivian are extremely close. He’s like an older brother to her. Vivian was born when Timmy was 11.
Timmy sees that Vivian is struggling with the divorce and her father remarrying. So Timmy starts to ponder what would be the best way to help her out.
Then Poof who is now grown up Volunteers to become Vivian’s Godparent.
This would let Cosmo and Wanda stay with Timmy through college and give poof a chance to shine as full fledged character.
This would be Poof’s first kid to look after. He’s inexperienced and would still stay in contact with his parents for advice.

It would have been better if The Fairly Odder is a follow up to Channel Chasers where it focuses on Tammy Turner as the protagonist. Also, the Fairly Odder should have been similar to Boruto and Yokai Watch Shadowside where it focuses on the child of the original characters.
You should have written the show
Unfortunately those characters are long forgotten. It lso wouldn't really make sense for Timmy to have his kids abused in the same way. Their setting would have to be different.
I think it should've been a Steven Universe Future situation. We see Timmy, but now he's older, struggling with more serious problems, struggling with his fairies, and accepting that growing up can be good.
And let the fairies be poofs kids.
I thionk they could have just had a different chld entirely and not have the faries just be exclusive to Timmy. I would have even watched a series if it was just about Chloe and Sparky was her god parent.
If they really want to reboot the show, they should try making a semi-sequel to the animated show.
Remember the movie special "Channel Chaser" where it end with an adult Timmy having kids with Tootie name Temie & Tommy, Cosmo & Wanda moved on to become godparents to Timmy's kid. They should've made a show center around that

For what was the second most popular/longest running Nicktoon only behind Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents DESERVED a proper and respectful ending. And it's something I don't think I'll forgive Nickelodeon for until they give it to us. If they ever do...

@SlyCooperRocks There were going to. There were even going to make a Crash Nebula movie but they rejected due to various similarities to the Disney movie in 2005 called Sky High.
Regardless of what you think, one animated show that I can think of in the last decade or two that used a laugh track was Glenn Martin: DDS. Give it this though; they at least canned the track about 6 or 7 episodes in because the viewers AND the writers didn't want it.

1: I agree with this rant video. This reboot has too many flaws to make this continuation of FOP acceptable.
2: I really appreciate how positive you tried to keep your attitude in this negative video. Because I usually hate watching videos where someone discusses their hatred against an Art of Hollywood. However, the fact that you noticed how worthy was it to keep a polite attitude (even if you are right to dislike this FOP reboot), combined with the fact that I agree with your point and/or issues of this live-action FOP reboot, is what makes this negative video way more watchable than i'd expect: The CONSTRUCTIVE attitude, very nice!
3: Agreed, I would love a Victorious reboot too. The only situation I can think of regarding the chances of such a revival is that after Victorious ended, Ariana Grande became a very FAMOUS singing pop-star, and so we have no idea how busy will Ariana Grande be for taking her time to act again as Cat Valentine (with a dyed red-hair). I also heard that Victoria Justice doesn't like doing teenage roles anymore, but that's just a rumor that I believe to be false since Victoria Justice & her character Tori Vega will be a grown-up, just like Miranda Cosgrove & her character Carly Shay. And after watching Afterlife of the Party, I know for a fact that VJ is still acting in more new Hollywood content today, so for that reason, I don't see how Victoria Justice would decline reprising her role as Tori Vega. Overall, I agree with you so very much that a Victorious revival would be so great!

Huh, first time I've seen someone praise/tolerate the laugh track in Scooby-Doo. I thought everyone hated it along with the addition of Scrappy Doo.
I always liked the laugh track it kinda adds to its old charm now scrappy he was fine in the first season he was introduced but once he replaced fred and Velma that's when I started not to like him.
If you have to put a laugh track into your show, your show is dead already. You don't need to and shouldn't have to tell, let or hint to the audience on when to laugh. Write your goddamned scripts, and let your viewers decide when to laugh. If you wrote it properly, they'll figure it out.

It feels like script was written in one draft, for like every single episode. Churning jokes left and right instead of having a coherent story.
Overall this was a great review and I’ll definitely check out the fairly odd parents lore video later on. (I always love me some good lore in children’s media)
Also the laugh track in the animated segments, another show that does the exact same thing is the flintstones and the jetsons, apparently they had laugh tracks too. Which bold decision to include such a niche style that died in the seventies. Really bold. All these people are weird.

It really doesn't feel like fairly odd parents at all. It comes off more like Henry Danger with Fairly odd parents slapped on it. It has the same problem most Dan Schnider shows had after Drake and Josh. No story, barely any characterization, and nothing but just purely random, catch-phrase humor. Where as the original show was nothing like this, especially in its best early season. The humor is supposed to be occasionally self-aware, sarcastic, witty and satirical. This show is just another "Lets add in Fornite Dances. Kids like that."

I agree that the show sucks. But I really love Vicky's actress, Mary Kate Wiles. She's a great singer and an overall great actress. And it is really sad to see she has to be in such a terrible show

This! I’m glad this show at least gave her a job to add to her resume, and I think she did a good job with what she was given. Unfortunately the whole show is highly flawed and I wish it was better. Same with Laura Bell Bundy.

When he realizes that he likes tootie (who has a major glow up) the fairies try to find a way to break them up because if he falls in love, then he loses his fairies. Hijinks happens and suprise suprise he and Jorgen find a loophole to keep his fairies. Blah blah blah Christmas movie sucked blah blah blah on to third movie
Third movie Drake's at Hawaii because Dad's job is there and Timmy's dad gets into Timmy's dad Hijinks with his pencil company. Drake (I can't call him Timmy Turner anymore, he's basically just Drake Parker in Drake and josh. ) decides to do Dad a solid and help his dad and gf in Hawaii (somehow Tootie is helping dolphins with mating) I would like to remind you that three movies were made. People were paid. This is real. You can find them on UA-cam and cringe horribly at the fact that Drake Bell was actually in a classroom with 10 year olds.
So anyway, Drake has this job to protect a power supply in fairy world. It gets kidnapped by crocker and food and Timmy fights for it at a giant volcano, falls in with the power source and turns into Tara Strong's Timmy Turner (his fairy form look like animated Timmy)
So basically Drake bell didn't grow up and when he did, there was loopholes and finally he became a fairy for his girlfriend and hang out with Cosmo and Wanda!
Absolutely stupid movies that weren't necessary
I didnt notice until I saw this video, but the scroll with Jorgen agreeing with Timmy giving his Fairies is the "Lorem Ipsum" text. Like, they could have done something cute or funny like "This is a scroll, sorry, we have no idea what to put here, but if you are reading this, you are awesome" or something like that

Yeah, I don't think anyone should request that you suffer through more of this show.
If you don't know yet - Vicky enters the show, is now a schoolteacher and has a crush on... ... aw hell no...
Things like Jorgen's inconsistency with "Da rules", or Timmy still having fairies well into adulthood, are small examples of the over-arching problem - the show-runners really don't care. It's so cheap and lazy in the first place - why would they bother with canon or previously established elements and lore of FOP. (Did you notice that Poof wasn't there? At all?)
FOP's long decline is what happens when a business milked their cash cow until it died, tried milking it afterwards, and then resurrected its dead corpse in desperation.
I do like the idea of 2 kids sharing ONE fairy instead of 2 and having to take turns making wishes. It could lead to wacky shenanigans if the kids aren't together and one needs a wish when it's not their turn, but I would have wanted it animated.
Fairy magic, which is only limited by the imagination doesn't translate at all to our very limited human reality.
I watch all 13 Episodes and sure the Actors did alright the Parents were kinda Funny I would rather watch all 10 Seasons and Live Action Movie Trilogy because I feel Empty,Soules,Annoyed,Frustratinga,and most Importantly Miserable,because this is a Disaster,the Characters are Annoying,the Parents are more Bizarre than Timmy's Parents while One is a Dog and the Other has a Thing to a Status,that Stalking Creep makes Tootie look like a Saint,It Retconned and Change Alot of the Lore and Events in the Series,and their Retconned Vicky into Creepy Teacher and obsessed with Crooker,all in all I Hope and Pray that they don't another Season.
There’s no way I could make it through all 13 episodes so that’s an incredible accomplishment

Yeah, same - I won't shit on the actors or so. That's on Butch, the writers and the producers. They know better than to screw up my childhood and expect support from me. I refuse to support the show, especially since Butch is nothing more than a Scrooge and a Puritan.

Lorem ipsum is a placeholder text used to see what your (for example) internet page will look like once it has text in it. It can be generated automatically on a website.
They couldn’t even be bothered to write a few lines of text… this is sad.
Yknow you bringing up Poof made me realize… this would’ve still been bad, but it might’ve actually been better to have Poof be the fairy. Maybe he’s rebelling or doing some practice run on just a kid with issues or something. That’s at least something slightly more original plus you have more freedom with Poof as a character becuase he was mostly a baby until he could talk.
Also like…. Every single one of the live action movies would’ve been a better ending for the series than this. Like that 1st and 2nd one on paper are fine endings to me, even the 3rd one is better as dumb as it was.

I never realized how creepy Timmy looked without his buck teeth. Like why did they even draw him without his iconic tooth? X.x
Apparently the animation was only done by one person and they had to do all the animations for the show in a month - which if it's true - not only really helps explain why the animation is so bad but also shows just how little Viacom/ Paramount, Butch, and the showrunners and producers actually cared about the quality of the show.
(it's also like. super unethical and messed up imo. animators deserve more respect and also a union).
I like to think this show is an alternate timeline of 4.
1st Timeline: Basically the Channel Chasers ending where Timmy grows up and his fairies become godparents to his children
2nd Timeline: Basically Seasons 6-10 are canon and the story continues with Poof, Chloe and Sparky
3rd Timeline: The Drake Bell movies, where Timmy is grown up and keeps his fairies until eventually becoming a fairy himself
4th timeline: This show, where bull crap happens

Also, this reboot is just the final nail on the coffin for me. BUT at least it can bring the community together on how much we hate it, so that's the only plus this show's getting..

I don't think you guys understand, Timmy FOUGHT so hard to keep his fairies that he made a secret, unforgivable wish that prevented everyone in the world from aging...JUST so he could keep his fairies. If that doesn't tell you something, I don't know what will. Timmy has always wanted his fairies, so for him to just give them away just like that is SO unrealistic.
nah they should had have Jorgen say "You must take turn with the wishes as i did that for you and Chloe" or something just to at least make another call back to not the original just season 10 or sometime when Chloe was introduced

Well, it looks like we will get another Fairly OddParents show called Fairly OddParents: A New Wish. Essentially the leaked plot of the first episode goes like this. Hazel has just moved to Dimmadelphia, but she is having trouble adjusting to her new life, due to not having her brother Antony around, and having trouble at school. After finding out that her brother's visit has been delayed due to a storm, she tries to escape from home, but after failing and wishing she could fly, she activates Cosmo and Wanda's magic and gets turned into a fly. Cosmo and Wanda are humans in disguise that live next to Hazel. After getting reapproved to be fairy godparents after they retired 30 years ago, Hazel will be their first one coming out of retirement and they are both ready to make all her wishes come true. There are even scripts for the first two episodes. First episode being titled "Fly" and the second one being titled "Cole The Snep Shark".
If paramount and Nickelodeon actually did a let’s go Tshirt with his face on it, hell will take another different turn for them to keep making the sitcom as it’ll get worse by the minute.
I hope this show gets canceled really early this show looks like it should never exist to being with
I thought the show got interesting when the subplot with Crocker and Vicki was introduced. I’m kinda hoping for a season 2 where we see her do more.
Been watching a lot of people ranting about this show because it's funny how much of a shitshow it is, and just came to notice the lorem ipsum thing on the "Fairy Permission Scroll", like this make it's clear they're not even trying to do things right.

I thought in the original show they've said when Timmy grows up and the fairies go away, his memory is wiped and never remembers them? Right?? Or am I remembering wrong?
Not trying to start a riot, but I personally think this show isn’t that bad because there are a lot of horrible shows and movies that exist especially on the animation and writing. I grew up with The Fairly Oddparents and there are some bad episodes, but they do not bother me horribly because there are worse things out there. I can understand why people don’t like this and I’m fine if they are mad about it. I’m just saying there are worse movies and shows out there, but that’s just my opinion.😊
I like how they couldn't even be bothered to fill in the filler text on the contract with actual English words. That's a good indicator of how little anyone wanted to work on this show.
1.Have you ever wanted to do an interview with the actors to see how they feel with the show?
2. If you can't make a good cartoon with proper animation and good stories, DON'T DO IT AT ALL! Don't waste your time and money on trash.
3. There are only two exceptions for terrible cartoons, if it's original or it's at its starting point, THAT'S IT.

In the og show, in the channel surfing special, they showed that Timmy would forget his fairies at 17-18 so it's weird that he still has them at around 18-19

The only thing I find surprising about the actor who played Timmy Turner in this show is learning that he's the current voice of Zack Fair in Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Rebirth, and Crisis Core: Reunion.
This reboot really rubs me the wrong damn way because I understood the logic of the original first few seasons of the fairly oddparents

Wow, they actually did it, Nickelodeon made a show *WORSE* than than Fanboy and Chum Chum and Fred: The Show conbined. I didn't think was possible but they've officially hit a whole new level of low with this one. Fairly Odder is absolutely, undoubtedly, without question, objectively, the most uncreative, unoriginal, uninspired, uninteresting, unwatchable, laziest, passionless, soulless, unfunniest, corporately manufactured live-action "sitcom" ever made by Nick! The stories are predictably unenjoyable, the humor is extremely cringeworthy, the characters are incredibly insufferable, the acting is absolutely atrocious, and the animation for Cosmo and Wanda is awful! If you weren't convinced that literally no one at Nickelodeon cares about quality anymore, then this is your proof! Nickelodeon may have good in the 90's and 2000's, but ever since 2009, they began declining in quality, getting worse and worse every single year, making idiotic decisions after idiotic decisions, and they continue to make idiotic braindead stupid decisions to this day, and now they gone beyond rock bottom with this one! They've turned what was once a charming, innocent cartoon into yet another garbage live-action sitcom that NO ONE ASKED FOR! In fact this reboot highlights all the problems with modern Nickelodeon. Lazy uninspired writing, cringy juvenile humor, desperately trying to appeal to the young crowd, and constantly milking beloved franchises! This is easily one of the worst things they've ever farted out and the worst thing that scumbag Butch Hartman ever made! PLEASE WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW, AT ALL! The first time I saw the mr Crocker scene I thought it was fan made since it was not bad but it wasn’t studio quality.
And to add insult to injury, although this is more personal to me, in the dub of my native language, Italian, they changed the voices for Cosmo, Wanda and Jorgen for some reason. This already happened in season 10, alongside the start of flash animation, where Mr. Turner and Crocker's voices, but at least it made sense here considering that Mr. Turner's VA died and Crocker's I presume retired. With Cosmo, Wanda and Jorgen there was no reason to do that, aside from Paramount + wanting to do a redub. They're still pretty active as Voice Actors
well timmy did lend his faires to Sheen, Carl and Libby in Jimmy, Timmy Pour Hour 2. Which if i remember correctly was after learning you could only lend your faries to someone twice as miserable as you. :Tootie's birthday." well having Vicky as evil teacher might actual fit that rule.
The thing is about DAH RULES, is that no mattwr what has to leave them. But he definitely should've left them before college, the rules state "your gonna not only loose them but forgey about them" which honesly is probably for the better

There are so many ways the plot of this can be changed to make sense. Like, for example, Vivian can be the least liked person in school, constantly being given… idk, detention by Vicky? Meanwhile, her brother is one of the most popular kids in school, and it’s clear that Vivian’s parents treat him as the favorite.
I came up with that in, what? A few minutes? Even that makes more sense than the actual reason Vivian gets fairies.
I think that there was a good reason why they didn't go with Drake Bell for Timmy Turner, considering what he was charged with.
The “Let’s Go” kid deserves a cringe meter. It’d work like the “Douche-A-Meter” Todd In The Shadows has for Justin Bieber. Then again, like the douche-a-meter, the cringe meter would break whenever anything from the show happened especially “Let’s go!”
8:30 Jorgan can't allowed Timmy to give them away to another kid Timmy should have lost them when he was at least 12 or 13 when he was mature and happy enough that he didn't need them anymore and then maybe in a few years or a few thousand more years Cosmo and Wanda would have a nice happy relationship with another kid because that is the point of Cosmo and Wanda and every fairy and fairy world they're not meant just for Timmy they're meant to make every miserable kid in the world happy. (Which is really weird considering Chloe and Roy had fairies even though they had loving parents and they were also really famous in Dimmesdale and they were constantly happy SO THEY DIDN'T NEED FAIRIES!!!!!)
