Really nice coverage, Jon! I want to try out the solo/co-op play on Tabletop Simulator, but this was a great overview of the rules and basics of play.
I'm a huge Batman fan and was debating on backing the kickstarter with a friend, but your 2 videos have solidified my decision to get it! Thanks for the awesome video and the detailed breakdown of the game.
Great that you are covering a different kind of game than the usual. Keep up the good work
My copy of the game arrived yesterday! Your video helped me better understand the rules!
I just bought the All-In of this on late pledge and i can't wait to get it. As someone who plays Heroclix, the movement and line of fire seems pretty intuitive
Did they charge you when you checked out or do they charge when it ships? I was thinking of doing the same
@@stevengutierrez8368 It's done through the BackerKit page, so you pay when they close that to finalize shipping
Thanks for a great tutorial. Going to play this game tomorrow together with some friends, so this playthrough was a great help. Thanks for sharing
Really great way to teach a game, putting the rules into context rather than just basically reading the rule book.
I do have one question:
The rules state that to determine LOS : " A figure has direct line of sight to its target if a straight line from the figure’s space to the target space can be drawn without crossing any terrain that blocks line of sight."
So the wording makes it seem that I should be able to draw a line from ANY part of my space to ANY part of an enemy space to have LOS.
Is it center to center? I'm sure it won't make a big difference but I could see some situations where it would.
Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!
What is everyones thought on solo for this? I usually play solo now since most of my friends don't play board games anymore. Really love the theme of this.
Jon, I started following you back when you were around 1k or 2k followers, possibly even just triple digits (I think around 2015-16? Admittedly, I unfollowed sometime a year or two ago, had to re-organize my sub feed. But still follow on FB!). I just wanna say I'm glad for your success! 27k followers and doing some tutorial vids for various KS's I've followed. Really happy to see this. =)
That's really nice to hear, I'm glad after all these years you are still watching some of these videos even though a lot has changed with how they are made :)
14:13 all terrain moves cost 2 move actions, including "Leap". I guess that as you had a model of the game they changed it later.
Huh, yeah I suppose so. This is the weakness of filming with prototypes, sometimes rules slightly change before the final printing.
I find it weird that all these board games based on the animated series make Catwoman on the hero side and throw Gordon in there too when the New Batman Adventures IS RIGHT THERE
Did anyone notice any rulings about the round tracker? We are wondering if it was only as a convenience, or if there is a round limit to the game. Thanks!
I got the Arkham Asylum is that an extension? Can I still play the game ?
Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!
More interesting theme than the previous game in the system (TMNT). Yes, I went there.
Ugh, just saw a Monopoly Cheaters Edition ad before this video.
yeah, I'm buying that instead of Batman, too.
Oh, wow, what a slog this must be by game 3 or 4 with additional convoluted mechanisms. Thanks for the excellent content, Jon. I can back games and avoid with greater confidence with this channel.
It's certainly not going to be for everyone, I'm glad this helped you make an informed decision :)
Is this the same as the batman miniature game from 2018?
I do not believe so.
No, the game from 2018 is called Batman: Gotham City Chronicles.
goom gameplay
I got confused a few times with all the "theys" plus it bugged me. So... I couldn't finish
I don't know if it's your voice or your mic, but your voice sounds like there's a stacatto, like a phlem that you need to clear, or a mic that cuts multiple times in every word you say.
Sorry to that's happening for you. For the most part I get very good feedback about the audio, though for a few people like yourself it seems to come across strange. I'm honestly not sure why, it seems like there is no way to get it right for 100% of viewers which is frustrating.
Yay. First. But who cares. Just excited to see a play through!
why is batman and the gang running into a place instead of ambushing? it seems like with the kind of basic miniatures mechanics the only thing unique is dice sharing (kinda) and the gadgets thing. Batman doesnt sprint across streets through the front door like that. probably gonna pass on this
Not for me this one Jon sorry
That's understandable, I do try to cover a wide variety of games which means some will naturally not match up well for some viewers.
@@JonGetsGames still excellent quality video though Jon
Why do you call Batman, Robin and Gordon 'they' but Batgirl 'she'?
Interesting, didn't realize I did that. In generally I try to stay pronoun neutral with the "other" players, but for this game I specifically tried to stick with the printed pronouns since the player boards distinctly used them. I even rerecorded the Robin segment I remember to say "he" because it was that way in print. Seems like my habit of using "they" stuck through and for some reason consistently missed Batgirl.
So, do you have a problem with Batgirl being called a she, or with BRG being called they? I'm all for freedom to choose your pronouns, but we are talking about fictional characters here.
