Polo, thanks for your reaction to my all time favorite musical artist, Angelina Jordan. Angelina just turned 18 and recently performed at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She has over 200 songs on UA-cam (search 'Angelina Jordan every song"). Angelina has told us she has written more than 100 songs and we have been blessed with 12 to date. Here is the list of her originals.
"What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Age presented is her age when she first sang it.

"Million Miles" age 14 we know she wrote this one in the days after her maternal grandfather passed in 2019 when she was 13

"Love Don't Let Me Go" age 17
"Now I'm the Fool" age 17
"Fire and Rain" age 17
"It's All My Fault" age 17
"Good in Goodbyes" age 17
"Diamond" age 17
"Our Time" age 17
Should include songs for which she was the first to sing
"I'm Still Holding Out for You" age 10 .... considered one of her best vocal performances by many
"Song for A" age 12
"Above the Water" a EDM song released near her 14th birthday

Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes.
I get chills whenever I listen to her.

You know that Angelina has been arranging all her music oh since she was 8 yrs old. She is definitely a music prodigy. She has now been signed as an artist and is living in California. Look up the ESPN athlete’s awards. She was chosen for the entertainment and you can see and hear her as she looks and sounds today. She just keeps getting better.
You had me a bit confused, but when I searched ESPN athlete awards Angelina Jordan, I learned it was her performance at the FIFA awards ceremony. I believe Angelina is the singing voice for promoting the 2026 World Cup and she is a big fan of football (soccer).
She has some great originals.

@davidlewis2447 Good journey. She does an excellent cover version of most songs to be honest. Like your OP says you can feel the emotion.
I tend to be very protective of songs I love and this is one of them. I play my Etta James vinyls daily and this is one of my absolute favorites of hers. While I deeply prefer Etta, for 12 years old this is pretty darn impressive. Etta is just as hard to sing as Whitney IMO so kudos to her for doing this so well 👏🏼

I agree - her younger videos capture me more than her current work - I think they have leaning too heavy into the Amy Lane with heavy reverb and it's too heavy for her. I'd like to see her doing lighter songs - It feel like she has a lighter soul - Amy's was very dark.

Angelina Jordan is a very good artist and I really like her covers and versions of many songs. However, every one has a clinker now and then. This song simply doesn't fit her voice. It sounds forced. There are much better versions of this song from other artists.
She's imitating and that's not real, just like one doing impersonations. Not impressed at all.
