quite a lot of poles actually agree with most points that a lot of them make, hwever his "bad polish" was "you need to do my way becouse thats what i want and i value"
Polish is quite difficult because it is slavic language. Slavic languages are much more difficult for English speaking, because everything is declined. But he said in his movie, that Poles should make the language easier. We don't want to make polish language easier. Difficulty is the beauty of our language. Suggestion to make Polish easier is an insult. That's why Poles suggested him to learn Polish harder. :D It was sarcasm!
Yes, racism is everywhere, when I was younger (I'm 22 btw) there was more curiosity towards different people than racism but things started to change a bit mainly because we hear about all those stabbings or rapes in western Europe committed by immigrants. This caused like a wake-up call for society to protect our people and culture. In my opinion, based on what I think and see if you are black in Poland I highly doubt that you would encounter racism if you don't do any harm and abide by the law.
Yeah you’re too young to remember the 2015 mass illegal migration when there was stabbings, cutting heads and terrorist attack every day in west Europe
and the second part is black humor that we use, many of my friends are not racist or homophobic we just joke about a lot of stuff and it's not only about race o preferences but all aspects of life so some jokes are considered racist but the point of joke is not to harm you its for us to lough about ourselves so if you're joking about white people or polish stereotypes we will lough the same as we are laughing hearing jokes about other races and stuff like this
„It’s your fault for not learning it well enough. You just have to study harder.” - welcome to motivation reality by Polish education system - most of older generation doesn’t know other ways to motivate and many teachers still have this attitude
This. It's amazing how demanding most of teachers in Poland are but they suck so much at their job. They might as well just leave us alone with books if they don't want to bother explaining things in a way all students could understand. Also, being neurodivergent in polish schools is hell.
About religion, I think it's very split here. I myself am not religious, but my husband is very. We raise our kids in a Catholic manner also, we'll see what they'll decide later. My mom only says that she's religious, but she goes to the church only for appearances. My dad is somewhat religious, he never talks about it, but he will go to church on his own, if he has the time. My oldest sister is very religious, just like her husband. My middle sister is not, just like her husband. So in my own family it's almost 50-50 split. But I think in general each generation is less religious.
Individuals with extreme left or right-wing persuasions are present in every country. Both groups often resort to some form of violence, verbal or otherwise, when faced with disagreement. In short, both willingly disrespect others, which easily cuts off every reasonable channel of communication. It's their loss, not that of the reasonable majority.
2:30 As someone from the younger generation and a Catholic, I notice that many Poles identify as Catholics, but not all of them attend church regularly. We often hear stories about scandals involving priests, and people tend to blame the entire Church for these issues. In Poland, there’s a saying: "Jak trwoga, to do Boga" (which means "when in trouble, turn to God"). It’s common for many of us to pray or seek God when we’re scared or feeling regretful. I also believe that many older people, fearing death, start attending church more often or watching live broadcasts from churches. Anyway, great video, bro! Keep it up!
its not only poland in this case, a lot of left leaning goverments are pushing catholicizm out. and i agree that portrayal sucks when most of priests actually do a ton of good work
You're right, Polish is easy for Poles, for me English makes no sense, how can you pronounce clusters of the same letters differently? ;-) A foreigner will not understand that if a Pole criticizes him for his activities, it means that he has blended into our culture, otherwise no one would criticize anything, he would simply be indifferent (criticism in this case is a compliment, we like to criticize everything) . Every foreigner who respects our opinion, rules and culture and does not try to impose his own will be welcome. Religion is now a beautiful tradition in the young generation, but the church as an institution has lost its place. Many people do not want foreigners to speak well about Poland, which creates problems, including: illegal immigration, which probably no one wants in this country. If you come legally, live, work, respect customs - great, otherwise - go. Weather ;-) watch "Cottage in the Karkonosze Mountains" (can be found with English subtitles). I don't live in the mountains, but if I met that (bad word) plow guy, I'd get a life sentence for murder. (google translate, sorry)
To criticize an art you have to complete an art degree and to be an artist itself. Its like a plumber trying to be a football coach. This is why Pols only accept criticism from born and raised polish citizens.
well yes but actually no, there are plenty of criticizing videos that are well respected, like vigo's dad one, his "cryticizm" was "i want you to do it difrently", he even wanted for poles to change grammar just for him
Criticising a polish person needs to be taken in two steps, because as much as we want to be the best version of ourselves - we know that nobody is perfect. At first you need to be as blunt as you need. We won't like it, but when we see that your oppinion doesn't make you hate us, then we can talk about pros and cons of the situation and actually take constructive criticism. We want to improve above all
12:08 about that, you can speak bad but only way for us to let you do it without conseqence you have to be here for a long time, long enough to understand where this protectivness comes from
Well, the selling point would be great GDP growth over the last two decades for example COVID-19 barely impacted our economy, changing and more open to foreigners society, and great job opportunities especially if u are good in tech and rich culture. Come and see by yourself 😄
About religion.... yes. Last few years we had a lot of scandals involving church just like in USA so a lot of people dropped religion totally or just stopped attending church "services". About being cold hard to deal with. Were "cold" cos of few things. In past we were told that if you're laughing like crazy outside - you're stupid or we're real when it comes to showing feelings and convo nothing like Americans faking everything but they don't give af about you and your feelings. We're like shrek were like onion we have layers. We have racism here just like in other countries but who doesn't have that. But in general we're just mostly curious or scared of unknown things especially older generations. It's not like we're like that in general just sone crazy far right dudes. Young people don't give af about your religion or skin color if you're OK, friendly hardworking respectful dude.
I both agree and disagree about Poles being religious - it really depends on the people you are around. Most people I know personally (friends, close acquaintances, neighbours) are religious, most of my family is religious. But I work in tech and most of my colleagues are not religious. I definitely wouldn't say "most" Poles aren't religious anymore - "most" probably still are. I live in a town of about 60k, there are literally 10 churches (or maybe more) in a 15km radius and while I mostly attend mass in my own parish, I do go to the other churches in the area occasionally and they are always full on Sundays. There are noticeably less people than 10 or 15 years, but there's still plenty. I will say though, the Polish Catholic Church is in a crisis - too many bad apples, too much involvement in politics and too many scandals the Church is trying to sweep under the rug - people are fed up with it (and rightfully so) and less and less of them are going to church.
also dont forget we dont talk about religion almost at all, so judging if someone is or not religius is quite often imposible, unless you see them at church
That's an interesting take It might be true that Gen Z is not that religious compared to the elders. Personally, I think that young people still believe in God but don't go to church, because they dislike the institution
so are you asian columbian or american and thank you that rap is finally recognized it started about 16 minutes ago pretty sure columbia is way better.....but let me see escobar is no longer king

There are way more things about this topic but there is no point of digging out a rotten corpse. [Edit] ah, almost forgot, the language thing, what he actually said was that he tried to learn a bit but does not actually care since poles know english anyway and then complained that the language is unlearnable while boasting he is multilingual. my condolences to you friend, this is exactly the type of ppl europeans see usa thro.
Poland stands with God. Unfortunate many young fellas tell they are not believers cuz it's soo cool and comfort for them, but they still celebrate all Christmas, Easter, All Saints Day etc. Hovewer, majority of Poland are believers. ❤🇵🇱
You are so wrong. People stop believing in fairytales because they are more and more educated. By myself I don't believe in magic snakes etc All my friends and family are smart enough not to believe in sth supernatural😊
the vast majority of Poles are believers but not practicing, the church has significantly less trust from Poles, among other things due to the lack of decommunization, there are several reasons but the vast majority believe in God
That's not true that "vast majority of Poles are believers". These kinds of statistics usually don't take into account how strongly identification with a particular faith is linked to national identity. Many people would say they're Catholics because they've been baptized, and it's like a default answer, even though they neither practice nor think about it too much. The vast majority of younger people (let's say below 40) have very little to do with religion, and Poland is actually the fastest secularizing country in Europe and one of the fastest in the world. The perception that people like Wes have, is the result of cultural misunderstandings, as it doesn't take into account that most of this so-called 'religiosity' is actually just a part of tradition, while in fact, the US has many more people who truly take religion seriously.
@@leno_o17 be honest to yourself - under 40 in not "young" - but middle aged, it's the brainwashed generation who rather believe in lies of Donald Tusk and clerks from Brussles than belive in God, but their time is also walking past...
