14:20 I mean it really isn't the best place on the earth to go pheasant shooting😂 You boys need to get yourselves over here to the uk, guaranteed to see birds and probably shooting between 50-400 bird days
@@MinnDakOutdoors it's a blast! Did a pheasant hunt not to far from where you were(private ranch) then ended the trip fishing fall walleye... brought home a limit of pheasant and 'eyes!

@@jcwoutdoors I have hunted the great state for pheasant and trust me when I say that the state buys a lot of birds and releases them for the public as well as the hundreds of farmers and outfits like this. The wild birds or ones that are residual, once my friend were frankly pen birds to start. Greatest population I know
@ that’s great that you’ve hunted in SD, but I’ve spent my life here, hunting pheasants, developing habitat and working with the SDGFP and in conjunction with the legislature. Not one single pheasant is purchased and released by the state. Private individuals and businesses release close to 700,000 birds, but the wild bird population is nearly 10x that amount right now. Releasing an animal that has had its survival needs med from birth until early adulthood is not equipped for survival and the statistics show just that. Sure, there are times a released bird makes its way onto public land, but it is very rare. Personally, I’ve encountered three in the past 30+ years.
Stopped watching the second you said you’re at a lodge. This is not a realistic depiction of what hunting wild pheasants is like. Pen raised bird hunting is a joke
@@JeffPeterson-em4nd hunting pen raised birds on a preserve is nothing like hunting wild pheasants on public land. SD Tourism knows wild pheasant numbers have been dwindling for years so they try to push tourism towards big lodges with pen raised birds.
DONT GROUND SWAT PHEASANTS WITH A DOG. I am shocked the dog owner didn’t call the hunt right there. Any time with a dog you need to see all sky with your shots.
@@jdpicken Not a ground swat, no dogs in the area. Sometimes you hunt higher elevations than where the pheasant flushes from. I'm going to assume you are welcome to not hunt with them if you don't agree with their shot selection.
Great to see the three of you hunting together. Those pheasants had some long tails. Keep them coming.
Thanks!
At 28:22 when Sam is talking you see another pheasant get up behind his left shoulder. That dog is shaking his head at you boys!😂
Oh rip
I came to the comments because of that
You need to mention this is a preserve hunt. The wild pheasant limit in South Dakota is 3 per day, 15 possession.
Thanks matt
