- Shanks is an integral part of the One Piece saga. He is one of the Four Emperors of the New World and commands much respect from all over the world including the Pirates and the World Government. He is a character who is often joyful and enjoys life without taking things much seriously. He will receive an insult and will just laugh it off. But if someone wants to hurt people close to him then he shows how powerful he can be. Even though Shanks has been introduced time and time again on various episode still there’s very much mystery to his character. We don’t even know his true capabilities.Shanks is mostly funny but shows his badass nature when things get serious. Here are some of the scenes where he shows that badass attitude. Be careful it contains spoilersHere Shanks saves Luffy from the Bandit and then scares away the sea animal just by giving him a hard look stare. We are not sure if he used his Haki here but I’m pretty sure that stare was scary enough for that monster to tuck his tail and run awayHere Shanks meets Whitebeard on his ship to discuss things. His Haki is so powerful that merely standing in its presence many of Whitebeard’s crew passed out.Shanks arrives at Marineford to stop the war. Here Shanks shows both his sides , he casually talks with Buggy and also shows his seriousness by asking anyone who wants to continue the war to fight him.Shanks at Elgia. When the Navy comes to take away Uta, Shanks dares anyone to try. It’s the first time he was seen so serious that just using his Haki he takes down Vice Admiral.

Funnily enough, Shanks used haki, That is literally the earliest view of haki in the entirety of one piece.
Bro casually activated his Haki and walked through on the Whitebeards's pirate ship. And the fact that 2 Marine Admirals did back up when they faced with the Haki of Red Haired Shanks is just looked they shit themselves at that point. LMAO. Yet, we have no idea how strong he is but we absolutely have seen something about this guy.

@benfranklin5335 I would very much like this more than him getting killed by Blackbeard. The extreme buildup over his strength just to be killed by a villain would feel rather anticlimactic
Sad thing is, Imu or Blackbeard are probably going to have some kind of BS that allows them to beat him.

This is exactly the problem Berserk had. The manga was selling good so it stretched for years, DECADES at some point. Because of that, many characters, including MAIN characters like Griffith, were never really shown their true power, ever, because - come on, that has to be saved for the finale, right? How did this tactic pay off? Finally, Miura himself got sick and died, and all chapters that are coming now from that point on, are just fanfiction. Berserk will never be complete. This, I imagine, is what is going to happen to One Piece eventually. Oda can't really show Shanks's true power, because that's one of the very few mysteries that are left in his world. But he also can't end the series, because it's selling so well. So he will just keep making new adventures and keeping his aces in the "saved for later" box, and then, inevitably, something will happen that will result in One Piece ending unexpectedly, and Shanks will be either half-assed in a disappointing manner, or never shown at all. This is what happens when the story doesn't really have a point. Self-contained stories that are well thought out from start to finish, like Death Note and Attack on Titan are a lot better than those animes and mangas that never end like One Piece and Berserk. That may be just my opinion, but it's what it is, really...
Being one handed might have helped shanks training his haki to such level. If he can have glimpses of future events probability. He chose to be one handed pirate.

@@actionkamen2814 the scene was never shown, so I can't tell the exact time but Blackbeard was a pirate on Whitebeard and it was during one of Whitebeard and Roger crew fights I think.

The "sea animal" is referred to as Sea King in both manga and anime.
I think Sea King were the one Bigger than this, remember the episode where Luffy was able to interact with a Sea King

I don't know if roger had found it before or after laugh tale. If he found it after reaching laugh tale then it is highly likely that this hat belonged to none other than Joy Boy himself. (just my opinion)

@@ThatOneGojo1 the haki sound is not an assured thing tbh if you see later in my video when Shanks boards Whitebeard ship there is no sound and at the end in Uta thing it's a different sound. That's why I said in my video I'm not sure if it's Haki because no one confirmed it but in the other 2 instances its clearly shown.
