- The jet-lag is real.
The summer solstice is tomorrow so I thought a little dive on the word Grianstad would be apt for this time of year. I also talk a little bit about some solstice-time / St John's Eve traditions in this video!

I absolutely love when you break down folklore traditions in the context of Gaeilge. I've been learning it for a while now and I always love getting the opportunity to enrich my vocabulary in such a rich way!
Thank you so much Leah! I feel the same way, looking at the language can give so much more information and a new perspective on things which depends the connection to the language and the culture in a wider way 😍
Thank you for the info, my bf is from Ireland and he always is so proud and flattered when i show off something i learned about his culture.
I really like this type of video. I have difficulty with reading, researching in my own due to some limitations that i have. I can watch videos like this though. It makes me feel like Im still studying.
Thanks Kay 😊 That's why I started my channel, to make info more accessible to people!
Fantastic video, really loving this series. It’s the middle of my “interests” Venn diagram: Language/Linguistics, Folklore and Witchcraft, and History!
That makes two of us Alix 😊
Ar fheabhas! :)
Another great inspiration to learn Irish,i would love to learn and speak it,thanks for sharing these golden nuggets!
Thank you Willie, glad you're enjoying them! 😊
Loved this! Is there a celebration in Ireland for the winter solstice, or is that just basically incorporated into Christmas?
A lot of Christian tradition crossover, but the solstice is still observed by some :)
Love this info, thanks for your efforts and for sharing! one question, given slender with slender...would it not be "greentarishem"?
Thanks Caryl!
Is Greentarishem a typo?
