Hi Future! I love this border, and you very clearly explained what you were doing (and why). I look forward to seeing the rest of the round robin and your contributions to it. Best wishes to you and your family. Have fun!
Oh boy! Very pretty! My birdhouse came out at 6.25 unfinished. So I will add 🤔 this much to each side to make it 8.5 inches. The owls are great! Marion in Oregon
Fabulous tutorial FutureCat! And your blocks look amazing. This was a good learning experience for me to wrap my brain around the mirror image blocks and how to visualize what's needed to complete the border. Thanks for working on this with us.
That was a great explanation my New Zealand friend! You are a much better teacher than I am. FutureCat is right everyone, put your mirror blocks in separate piles. It's helpful. This is a very good pattern/design and fun to sew.
So in this example if you want a larger quilt you would make for example 4 block 1’s and then 4 borders for the blocks and 4 of any other additions to complete block 1? I’ll admit it’s confusing but I’m slowly catching on!
That's right. Three of each block would make roughly a single/twin sized quilt, four of each will be more like a queen. And you can add sashing between your blocks to make it even bigger.
AWESOME PROJECT BLOCKS!!! Love the border and the colors are beautiful!
Thanks!

Hi LauraLynn!
Thanks! Finding that owl fabric that so perfectly fit the birdhouses may have started a bit of a fussy-cutting trend in our group :-)
Dear future cat,
It took some back and forth with this video and then I finally downloaded the instructions. I did it! Thank you!

You'll get plenty of practice with this border :-)
