Hi Andy, Just recently purchased this complete setup and got it all going following this video with almost no problems. Never built one before so i had no idea what i was doing. Thanks a lot for making this video, so much more rewarding building yourself in the end. Keep up the great work it is much appreciated.. Cheers..
That's a pretty darn good job you did here Andy. I would not even attempt to build my own with the instructions just looking at how much goes into to putting this together. I am pretty sure I would make a mess of it and would cursing for the few weeks or so (LOL)
Hi Andy Love all your videos! I am reaching out to the FPV community to help get my quad in the air! I am suffering from Insta Flip on take off. I have a Zmr250 frame with emax2300kv motors, 30amp Little Bee Esc, and SP Racing F3. Running newest beta flight. Using Devo7e with deviation 5.0 and a Devo rx701 for control. Followed your setup for most of the build, calibrated ESCs and on the bench everything looks to be good. Everything checks out in beta flight, values are good and steady at 1500, Arms from switch and motors spin up no problem. All motors are wired in the correct order and confirmed that they are spinning in the correct direction. (Bl Heli suite reversed 2 and 4). Tried bi blade and tri blade props, checked prop orientation multiple times. I can see there is control on pitch and roll axis, but as soon as I give it a little throttle the motors shoot up to full speed and it flips out of control off the ground...tried this 3 times now and I've taken a chunk out of my antennas and chopped a pole of my aomway vtx antenna and broken 4 props.... :( Please let me know any ideas of what to try!
I'm gonna subsribe, your videos are very helpful, you have provided a complete list of things needed, it is very helpful for someone like me who is just starting in this hobby, Thank you :)
Keep cranking out the awesome videos Andy! Quick question, What size of quad would you suggest for an all around super durable and has good punch capabilities along with what size of prop? I bought a QX95 because of you and I love it! Now I want more!! more!! more!! haha
Thank you for making the video and sharing. This is a cool frame. I have the rc-220 from realacc and doing the same. Mine did not come with a pdb, I want to get a spracing f3 acro 6dof fc. Is the PDB available separately ?
This is your best video by farThe screen display for Betaflight was cristal clearIs it worth doing all this work when you can buy the DIATONE CRUSADER GT 200 for the same price almostIf I was to build .is the receiver in the build ok with turning your evolution
You mentioned GoPro footage at the end of the video. Are you actually using a GoPro or the Xioami Yi? I noticed the footage is relatively stable considering all the flips and maneuvers.
Hi Andy, Can you please ask for a review sample of the KingKong Swift Series? Seems pretty interesting setup to me, regarding it's frame size and the Prop size^^
very nice build mate love it :) just out of interest whats the main reason a quads drop out of the sky randomly wet electronics or poor RX reception this tiny frsky rec is giving me hassle should i add a mini dipol with a longer lead for more range if so does it matter where u soldier the inner and outer cored wire? this ones just a wire soldiered to one of the two pads for example I may just switch it out with a sat RX not sure if have done a vid of that yet if so can u link me it thanks :)
it could be a few things but usually straight dropping out of the sky is a fail safe but usually you should get the control back. its not usually water unless its been proper dunked. it could also be a brown out where the voltage sag of one of the components causes the FC not able to power the receiver and it shuts off.
thanks so radio interference is cause the failsafe to kick in maybe and doing what it should?, I take it all rx's should be shrink tubed to stop any water getting in and any shorts etc not dunked but grass wet etc the usally british wet grass haha not sure if I need to water resist any of this stuff really seems fine atm done my first bit of acro today really pleased pulled off a few rolls and a backflip hehe
hi Andy ! can you please tell me if it is possible to put the sides protections of the wizard on the x220 frame you used on you last build with osd (gearbest) does it fit? thanks !!!
I have a 5-80w Weller soldering station but it doesn't have any small tips and all the other tips have gone out of stock bc they don't make them anymore. Is there a way I could buy a simpler soldering iron that just has a cord and plug that into the side of the soldering station? Sorry if this sounds confusing.
the reason i ask is i got a wizzard x220 with the spracing f3 flight controller with the connector coming out of the top with the red black and white wires can i plug that straight in to the sbus port on the reciever or do i have to cut it off and solder it somewhere else on the board?? please let me know if you can i have ordered another spracing f3 and it arrived tomorrow and still am not %100 positive but im pretty sure i jsut plug it into the x4rsb and turn on uart 3 but i dont understand why since uart 3 is empty i thought
AndyRC you just having really bad luck the first one went dead I had a backup I tried that one it's not working I ordered a brand new one everything was going good but I couldn't get it to talk to my radio so I waited I should continue to solder the four wires for the motors and now it won't connect to betaflight the red light on even flash or the blue light it's just frustrating and kind of sad I just want to learn what to do figuring out all this by myself with nobody to help me is like not really going very well I don't know if I'm doing something wrong if what I have is broken or I don't know what I'm doing
Check out RC-Groups forum online - there is a beginners section, im sure you can get some help. Just explain your issue clearly & carefully. www.rcgroups.com/multirotor-beginner-940/
AndyRC thanks Andy. I found one on eBay and it was the last one. so I bought it. I went back and looked again and it said out of stock so I really didn't get the last one. thank you for the tip!
Good video bro I need to learn more well I'm building my 220 I'm missing a couple of things like the camera the esc so as soon they get to me I'll let u know thank u.
hu Andy! is it nessessairy to install your antennas on the cable ties (it's not very pretty...) thanks ! ps: pleeaaassseee choose me for your give away !!!!
AndyRC Ahh, ok. So far I've only flown King Kong props because they seem to work well for me, but what would you recommend I buy as "premium" props just to see if I can spot a difference? Thanks for the vids!!
CEIMON Lore if you want something cheap and durable just to practice on, get a hubsan x4 or inductrix, don't forget spare motors and props youll need many
Brazy thank you for your answer, what about Eachine e010? I would like to start learning to fly and then try to build my own (an f450 clone). Thank you for your work bye
hm.. most all of eachine's stuff is pretty bad, id urge you to challenge yourself and learn, build your own from scratch, its not too bad. if you watch a few build videos you'll get a good idea. its the same idea as building your own pc, if you build a quad you know whats in it and know how its made, if its made well, ad you know how to fix it and learn in the process. people these days are too afraid of trying things, people can do amazing things if they put their minds to it. good luck.
They are horrible blades. I've purchased them a few times from different places and they are always poor quality. Not only are they horribly imbalanced, but the qc overall is terrible. I can actually see how uneven the blades are by mounting them and spinning the props by hand, look at them sideways with one eye, can see them wobble. One blade points up and the other points down etc. just slightly but almost every one of them in the package. Plus the mounting holes, omg don't even get me started. Some I couldn't even get on the motor without filing the hole a bit. Bottom line, they suck.

dude I'm impressed with how your chanel has grown from toy to hobby grade gear. if you find yourself in qld Australia hit me up brotendo
i try to cover both thanks for watching
Thanks for making the video. Nice build. I like how you use your pliers with elastic bands as "helping hands."
I like to keep it hi tech haha

nah i just watch a video like this and you will do it no problem :)

This is a very, very helpful video, thanks very much!
Thanks for the build video, I am going to keep it as a reference vid.
thanks for watching
Great vid bro!👍🏻👏🥇
thanks for watching

u cant go far wrong with the GB210 kit i built or the eachine wizard. there are too many options!

Hi Andy,
Can you please ask for a review sample of the KingKong Swift Series?
Seems pretty interesting setup to me, regarding it's frame size and the Prop size^^
Here is a quick link: www.banggood.com/de/search/kingkong-swift.html
ill take a look thanks

great vid as usual. especially for the minim. only suggestion, turn off the auto focus :D
easier said than done
not capable of disabling the autofocus?
Thx 4 vid. Could u explain pid settings with reactions? Maybe next vid :)
nice build
thanks for watching
Andy, have you tried setting up the gyro and PID loop frequencies higher on SP f3?
i have but can never tell the difference so i keep em stock so i dont overload the processor
Sounds fair, thanks for the info :D
What grade and diameter of solder you use andy seems nice to work with
its 0.3mm thx
So you do not need a fpv cam that has this extra ground and osd port for using an osd?
hi Andy !
can you please tell me if it is possible to put the sides protections of the wizard on the x220 frame you used on you last build with osd (gearbest)
does it fit?
thanks !!!
Thank your from year 2021
Which props should I use for it?
thanks
hi andy how is that vtx working for you? is it good?
+Faisal Rahman yep gonna put it on my wizard

something like this? www.banggood.com/Electric-Solder-Soldering-Iron-Solder-Handle-for-907-A1322-Heating-Element-p-986360.html?rmmds=search
I'm a real beginner in the hobby.
is this kit compatible with the Flysky FS - I6 2.4G 6 Channel Transmitter
the reason i ask is i got a wizzard x220 with the spracing f3 flight controller with the connector coming out of the top with the red black and white wires can i plug that straight in to the sbus port on the reciever or do i have to cut it off and solder it somewhere else on the board?? please let me know if you can i have ordered another spracing f3 and it arrived tomorrow and still am not %100 positive but im pretty sure i jsut plug it into the x4rsb and turn on uart 3 but i dont understand why since uart 3 is empty i thought
u can plug it into an x4rsb yes but u have to swap the connector over to the io2 port on the spracing board as its set for ppm out of the box

Andy, where can I get a pair of those Nifty wire strippers?
Jim Clark banggood?
+Jim Clark it's called N eclipse wire stripper I got mine from a store but you can find on ebay
AndyRC thanks Andy. I found one on eBay and it was the last one. so I bought it. I went back and looked again and it said out of stock so I really didn't get the last one. thank you for the tip!
lucky! hope u like em cheers
Extra same frame the Wizard is based on. Realacc TC-R220
Good video bro I need to learn more well I'm building my 220 I'm missing a couple of things like the camera the esc so as soon they get to me I'll let u know thank u.
why did u turn uart 3 on if the reciever was plugged into uart 1 from the connector on the board
receiver isnt plugged into uart1
THANKS!
thank you :)
Why do you order from gearbest instead of banggood? Is it because of shipping or customer service?
i order from both.
hu Andy!
is it nessessairy to install your antennas on the cable ties (it's not very pretty...)
thanks !
ps: pleeaaassseee choose me for your give away !!!!
Do you have a link for the wire strippers you use?
i bought them from a store search eclipse wire strippers
Bummer I can only find them in the UK. Really like them for tiny wires. I found a similar style in the US but it's huge industrial looking.
Found some on Amazon that I'm very happy with.
Kris Dailey can u share link ?
I would like to get similar.
TY
These are the ones that I got and I have been really happy with them www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01018CYV8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What do you have against KingKong props? I'm just curious
i get a lot of vibrations from them shown in this vid ua-cam.com/video/7t-3_6RcBps/v-deo.html
AndyRC
Ahh, ok. So far I've only flown King Kong props because they seem to work well for me, but what would you recommend I buy as "premium" props just to see if I can spot a difference?
Thanks for the vids!!
i used the rotorgeeks 5040
Cool, I'll try them EDIT: Actually, looking up "Rotorgeeks 5040 props" doesn't give me anything... What am I missing?
is the vtx given in the kit?
yes it is thanks
Ey AndyRC! A quick question does bangood takes a lot to restocking? it just seems that everything that I want to buy its out of stock :(
i noticed that recently. they are usually quick
Supper helpful until I watched your video I had.no idea how to build this thing.
no problem :)
I may be asking a stupid question but can I connect my x220 to my hubsan h107d remote control?
sadly you cannot cheers
Do you have to pay import tax in England when ordering from gearbest?
sometimes it seems to be random most times not only very rare
AndyRC Thanks Andy! But don't they put the value on the package? Or maybe just a lower value than what you paid? Like 30%
a last question: do i have to buy a x4rsb if I have a Flysky FS - I6 2.4G 6 Channel Transmitter?
thanks
no that receiver will not work with that tx its a non flysky receiver
I mean is it user friendly?
hi !
is the GB X220 better than the wizard x220?
depends if u add an osd or not :)
and what is the old for?
Rich content
thanks :)
ooh you live close to ben? that means not to far from me! (we HAVE to arrange to fly together) :D
or did you mean locally as in UK and not in vicinity of flyingtech?...
yes just the uk :)
wizzard x220 or gb x220?
gbx220 cheers
thanks !!
why are your hands so shaky?
from people on UA-cam bullying me about having shaky hands...
i've never built a quadcopter, can someone suggest me what model is the cheapest and the easiest to fly?
CEIMON Lore if you want something cheap and durable just to practice on, get a hubsan x4 or inductrix, don't forget spare motors and props youll need many

why are the kingkong props so bad?
i get quite a lot of vibrations from them
AndyRC okay... you cant really tell it by revoeuwimg the footage imo
they were ok on this build actually but i had a previous build and they were bad... ua-cam.com/video/7t-3_6RcBps/v-deo.html

im flying with only 10 d on my wizard for my pids
1st do i win anything
u win a thumbs up from me :)
