"Why would a ghost take a pen?" I love how Jeff looks at Troy like he knows Troy has been dying for someone to ask that question, and then Troy steps up like a scientist presenting his Nobel prize-winning research to the public.
@@bulja80085 Being self referential is a joke only used in the cold open. Once that theme song plays, the fact that its a bottle episode is never mentioned again, and the rest of the comedy derives from character interactions.
I love how Britta and Shirley share a brief moment while leaving the study room, showing they really care about each other despite the things they said about each other. ♥️♥️♥️
This bottle episode made me feel what troy felt when jeff explained to troy how beautiful annie is... and how she just became one of the hot ones that will never sleep with him. That smile on 1:47 nearly took me out
Jasper Jamm Its only creepy because the writers made it creepy for some reason. Allison Brie is the same age as the actress who played Britta in real life, plus Annie is an adult from the start of the show. In Season 2 episode 1, and the United Nations episode there’s creepy dialogue where Jeff acts like she’s younger than she is. It would have made more since to have it be a normal romantic relationship instead of having some creepy dialogue said by Jeff in those 2 episodes. Anyways, just my opinion.
Bottle episodes are notorious for being an artistic challenge. It’s why nearly every sitcom and drama does them. But it’s quite a simple concept. There are some notable versions. Like in Mad About You where they did one say outside the door of the new baby trying to see if it would go to sleep
The first time I watched this series, I thought that when Annie said, “I wish I could find it behind my ear”, that it was going to be behind her ear. For a millisecond, I thought it was, I swear.
Huh... I just came to a realisation. The individuals are mostly all relatively annoying characters, yet the group is a pretty well balanced person. The dialog is like the internal struggles in our head. Kind of like "Herman's Head" only done infinitely better
Listening to Dan Harmon doing a talk and then watching an episode of community to me always drives it home that those are really his internal struggles and he's using all these characters to share his voice
I think the wedding episode in season 6 sums up part of the problem with the group. As a whole, they let their more zanny personality traits take over and become more toxic. This episode being a perfect example where everybody just fell into Annie's game.
Tbf, ghosts seem more likely than a monkey living in the vents of a community college, which comes out and steals pens 💀 Edit: I don’t actually believe in ghosts lol
To all the people wanting the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons episode back up on Netflix. Don't worry they'll put it back up. They'll likely just have to put up a little disclaimer message explaining that racism is bad. Now you might think that's dumb but what's actually dumb is pretending that it's unnecessary. Dumb racists exist and giving them a reminder not to be dumb racists is necessary and certainly the right of any artist or private company to do. Have a lovely day.
Except... racism has nothing to do with it. So they're the ones that are dumb, like most of the perpetual whiners we all have to pretend we don't despise these days.
Also, the episode itself lampshades the slight similarity to blackface when Shirley calls it a hate crime. Its also a dark elf. Do episodes of Star Trek with white actors playing klingons need the same treatment? I've only taken issue with this kind of thing twice ever, and the previous was the ScarJo GitS fiasco.
I hate Annie for doing this. No one is that inconsiderate in this group. She shouldn't have even questioned them. And then months later she brushes it off when they find her pens. Plus the group is only inconsiderate to other ppl outside the group like Todd or the dean but not to each other in the group.
I love how dean is so offended when abed calls him non miraculous
Ikr lmaoo. He completely forgot about trying to punish them or get them to clean it up and just went chasing them for validation instead.
"Why would a ghost take a pen?"

Troy’s childlike innocent was just as important to the group as Jeff’s speeches or Adeds meta
Or even pierces non PC mindset
It reminded me of how in Chaos Theory, the darkest timeline is the one where Troy leaves to grab the pizza
Hence why the show slowly fell apart when he left. I stand with Donald though, it was probably the better choice.

This episode is weirdly fascinating. How does someone think of this
The writers team lost a pen and did the exact same thing
Yes.

This is one of the sweetest conclusions to an episode, and the best way they could’ve ended it, to me!
The Dean must *really* love them if he lets them keep using the study room after leaving it like that
Considering how he acts towards Jeff...
Not to mention how he looks at them like their family.
