i have the newer blue sti mini not the race one but the normal car one but my rear end was different and when i put the tape in it didn't lock up each side. both of the black little hubs you put your wheels in should spin together only right?
Is it awd? They are all vary similar for the rear end. So when you have the tape inserted and the diff housing put together if you spin one side of the black diff cups the other side should spin as well. Make sure the diff cups are all the way in. they should almost be flush to the housing. Also make sure the gears in the differential are lined up correctly.
