First time I watched this I thought, 'Is this some sort of Korean Opera?! It's amazing!' Then I realized it was a sort of modernized or western Pansori in a sense because of the classical instruments with the traditional Korean instruments. Would love to see a Korean Pansori Opera performance if it was like this! He was so good! His expression and performance were right on point and all the musicians played beautifully. I hope I get to see them perform live some day, even if I can't understand a single word.

I am Cuban-American with no knowledge of Pasori at all but I can honestly say that he deserve to have the entire world experience his talent. His music, voice and I believe is spells PASORI is the most beautiful foreign style of music I've had the honor of discovering. I without understanding the language, felt Joy, Happiness, Excitement, Sadness and above all a sense of Adventure with just one SOUL touch song. I'VE JUST DISCOVERED MY NEW LIFE DELIGHT.

I heard somewhere that it will rupture your vocal chord to master it. Rupturing multiple times creates this unique agonizing voice. There is a "skit" of this type of music that talkes about how the master blinded his student on purpose to create tragedy and make her sing better because he thought the tragedy will bring more soul to her voice.
I've watched this more than 5x, and I still get chills every time I listened to it! Next time I visit South Korea, I'd love to see him and the band perform live!

There is a subtle difference in terms of fame and popularity. If someone is famous then the person is at the top doing whatever he/she does. Popularity goes to someone who's just popular to the public regardless he/she does well or not, like William Hung. Jun Su is famous and one of the top artist in Kuk-ak. Kuk-ak is not really popular in Korea even if it's Korean traditional music.
