      It was interesting, but made for difficulties with jets, and large planes. They did create some visual interest, but I can hold nicer flight paths now, I believe, and we've just only recently started to enjoy the clearance.

    I love this plane. I used it as my trainer and it was perfect for that. The only problem I’ve run into is the front landing gear broke, but I can chalk that up to the desperation of my first few landings. Your suggestion of using softer tires would have helped.
    I really enjoy your channel and it’s been a great resource.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Douglas, and for sure, the "bent" forward landing gear is cool looking, but not as sturdy as I'd prefer, but soft tires make up for a lot when it comes to imperfect landings ;)

    Great updated review. Changing to a softer Dave Brown tire made a nice difference for the hard deck landings. I've found the nose gear too unstable for grass ops at our field though. I've already put the floats on and ready to fly off the snow whenever it gets here. Woo Hoo!

    Great flying! I'm surprised you don't have the FMS Kingfisher. Its cheap, and tons of fun. Very light wing loading, easy, relaxing flyer. Comes with skis and floats! For those of us in the Midwest who like to fly in the snow. I'm up near Minneapolis. Yep, already got quite a few snow ops in this year. Still hoping you get the IX14! I've been absolutely loving mine! Best investment Ive made in the hobby! Keep up the great work brother, really enjoying the channel!🤙

    Brian, That flight was so relaxing to watch. I try to keep planes like this stock. I think hard tires are better on grass. If they are still too hard for your liking, I recommend Dave Brown lite wheels as a replacement. They dramatically improve your landings. Hope you and family have a Happy Holidays. Take care, Brad.

  • @PoochAndBoo
    @PoochAndBoo Рік тому +2

    One of my favorite planes, Brian. But it's terrible on grass fields. Nose gear breaks. My club has a grass field. I converted it to a tail dragger. Easy. Extend the front trench, where the floats mount, with a dremal tool. Just a bit. Place the main gear there and remove the nose gear. I put a little tailwheel on it from a small drone. Isn't steerable, but that's no big deal, really. With half flaps she jumps into the air. Lands great. Haven't nosed it over, yet! Try it, and maybe demonstrate it to your viewers. People flying from grass may buy em if they see how easy it converts to a taildragger.

    • @trentsteel4358
      @trentsteel4358 Рік тому +1

      Thanks for this, going to give it a go this weekend! Have heard of some other conversions of the Tecnam to tail dragger using the Arrows Bigfoot landing gear but this sounds a lot easier and still allows for easy conversion back to float.

    • @PoochAndBoo
      @PoochAndBoo Рік тому +2

      @@trentsteel4358 Yeah, Trent, it takes all of about five minutes to do. And it looks really great as a tail dragger.

      @@PoochAndBoo Gave this a go yesterday and it works great!! I used a Dubro tailwheel (#375) and removed the main gear pants and installed bigger softer Dubro wheels. Now takes off within a few metres with flaps down and can handle some harder landings on grass. Super easy conversion to tail dragger....

    Great plane Brian. I was just flying the Aeroscout today at my local golf course on a windless morning and felt very relaxed just flying in in safe mode. However, just a thought with the relaxed nature of this plane you should of had another pilot do a high speed pass with and EDF like at the airshow to shake things up a bit, lol.

    Brian what plane would you buy if you could only purchase one of these thisTecnam 2010, E-flite Valiant 1.3, FMS Ranger 1220mm, or the Arrows Bigfoot 1300mm? I'm looking at best all around flying, landing, and the most aerobatic. I'm going to buy one of these but just not sure which one, so looking for your advice. Also looking to keep the cost at $300.00 and under.

      2200 3S bit.ly/3ImnAS5 | bit.ly/3omQFnA
      NX8 bit.ly/3J05xSj
      This (above) is what we suggested for this plane, given it's equipped with a Vector (like Reflex, but for Arrows).
      If you get one without Vector, you could use one of these (below) for AS3X and SAFE...
      AR630 bit.ly/3zpdgVR - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + INTERNAL Antenna
      AR631 bit.ly/3v0w3Fy - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + EXTERNAL Antenna
