    I really like this idea; however, I sometimes wonder if too many details gets distracting.--just my thought as I try and develop my own style.
    I really appreciate your effort to help us all learn.

    Great tutorial Bill!
    I know it was meant for those with little experience, but it was a perfect intro for anyone not familiar with using masks and stencils to achieve certain effects. They are your friends, people!

      Gotta mix up everything.. from simple to more complex. Getting ready to redo mixing color and some theory again.. because I think I can do a better job this time 😃

    Only Question I have is , when you clear coated that one, (beautiful work, as always) did you use Matt, Satin or High Gloss?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  2 роки тому +1

      Im not sure I ever did clearcoat it. I probably didn't even save this. Since I just painted it for a tutorial. I know when i finished the video that is just paint with no clear protection on it at all. While i think this is a cool little piece and fun its not something that would meet the standard of what i sell. i would have to put a lot more time on it than I did in this instance. :)

    Can you help me? I am so frustrated. I'm using an Iwata eclipse hp-cs airbrush and everything has been fine and I've been making good progress. Your videos have helped me immensely. My problem is when I try to use WHITE paint. I've been using Createx paints with so so results except for white. Every time I try to make fine lines i end up with a mess. I have to reduce it to get it to spray but then it's like water and spiders out. So i lower my air pressure but then have to pull the leaver/button almost all the way back to get any paint. This causes a huge amount to come out and i have a puddle. One friend said add medium. I tried using createx balancing clear 4030. This thickens up my paint and same thing all over again. I have to be doing something way wrong. I've been airbrushing over a year now and have always had this problem with just white paint. I'm so frustrated i could scream. I'll have a nice picture going and need some fine white detail and end up ruining it. I sure would appreciate any help. I'm able to get most all other colors to flow fine. Barely pulling back the needle.
    Thanks so much. You have taught me so much. Real fire took me a while but I got a pretty good results now. Thanks again, Jerry

      Well first white is always the hardest.
      Generally I use no additives other than a little reducer for airbrushing. Spray guns are a different story.
      I handle white by straight out of the bottle and turning the pressure up and constantly pulling tip dry off. In most cases.. as you already found heavily reducing can lead to spidering and blow outs.

      Also which paint line may make a huge difference.. like original createx is ultra thick.. wicked white is a bit rough. The new opaque wicked and illustration white are again different.

    Hey there! Here's a newbie question 😅. I'm struggling with clouds. For years. I'm thinking way too much about it.
    Have you ever put paint on a canvas, acrylic, a little bit wetter than from straight from the tube and then use the air from the airbrush to push it? Or, is this a dumb idea? Yes, yes...I should experiment, but I'm one of those that thinks I'm wasting paint. 😂
    I'm having issues with getting them fluffy with bright edges where the sun would hit. Like those big storm cloud tops. Sunset colors, sun is on the horizon over water. So, essentially, the bottoms would be the brightest.
    Any suggestions would be great. I'm having a total brain fart 🤯

    • @TheAIRspace

      just tear some paper and spray off the edge of the rough surface for the bright spots.
      Pushing wet paint around can be helpful in circumstances but not so much with clouds its too uncontrolled. In most cases.

      @TheAIRspace thanks a ton!the paper towels worked out so great! I had to change my thinking about lights and darks. I was putting the dark colors on first as i usually do with traditional brushwork. After I switched it up and did the light colors first, and then lightly and strategically put on darker tones, the light clouds popped!

    How would you do this on a diy guitar body?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  Рік тому

      well honestly, id go a lot more detail on a guitar body than this painting. However being as i used no subtractive techniques on this. The steps really would be the same, Just have to factor in the layout a bit .

    Can i paint this on black painting paper ?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  3 роки тому

      Paper is absorbent. So I would likely put a transparent base on first but certainly yes.
      I've painted on black poster board for demos and such. Without knowing exactly the surface I can't give a more precise answer.
