    Hello professor, how can you use the protractor each time without first drawing the coordinate system? Angle measurements without properly drawing coordinate axes would contain slight error

    Hi, where did you get the resultant magnitude 2.3km?? 2:32

    • @PhysicsclassroomVideos
      @PhysicsclassroomVideos  2 роки тому +1

      I used a centimeter ruler to measure the length of the vector and then I multiplied it by 0.5 km since 0.5 km is equivalent to 1 cm according to the scale.

    is there a way to solve for the resultant if there is more than 3 vectors bcuz my teacher gave us 5 vectors to solve for it resultant

    • @PhysicsclassroomVideos
      @PhysicsclassroomVideos  4 роки тому +1

      Most the examples in this video are for 3 vectors. But the principle of adding 3 works for 5. Just keep going after the 3rd vector. Add the 4th vector to the 3rd and add the 5th vector to the 4th in the same head-to-tail method.

    hello how does the 25 degree became 205 degree, I hope your response. It helps me a lot. Btw our teacher share this video to us, and it’s clear explanation, but I don’t get it the 25 degree became 205 degree :((

    • @PhysicsclassroomVideos
      @PhysicsclassroomVideos  4 роки тому +1

      25゚ South of West means it's 25゚ from the 180 direction. That makes it 205゚ counter clockwise from East. We have another video on the topic of direction of vectors. That's what you're missing in order to understand this video.

      The Physics Classroom Thank you so much! I already get the point, the half cartesean plane is 180 degree, and you simply added the 25 degree that you get in the letter c thanks a lot!!! you saved my grade :))

    Do u mean ruler by scale ?

    • @PhysicsclassroomVideos
      @PhysicsclassroomVideos  3 роки тому

      A ruler is usually used to create a scale. But a scale is just a statement that equates 1 cm on a sheet of paper to some real world amount ... like 5 miles. For instance 1 cm = 5 mile

    Aren't you supposed to locate them in their quadrants?

    I don't understand how u get 40° for vector B. Vector C too. Do you mind explaining that. Thank you:)

    • @PhysicsclassroomVideos
      @PhysicsclassroomVideos  4 роки тому +4

      I assume that you are referring to the 4:45 mark in the timeline? If a vector has a direction of 220° CCW, then that would be equivalent to 180° (West) + another 40° rotation past West. It that's confusing then you might need to review our Direction of Vectors video in which we discuss the convention known as the counter-clockwise (CCW) from east convention. That is the convention used for the direction of the vectors in this Example Problem.
