I kinda feel the same! Nicely explained.. Love both the male leads, want to see both of them together more & more.. Didn't like the female lead at all, mostly bcz she bosses around Luyao & it hurt me seeing them becoming a couple! At least, if not making a bl drama, could have left it without making a couple drama! Waiting eagerly to see a season 2 with only Hu yitian and Zhang yunlong!! 😍❤️❤️ I just love these two! Amazing chemistry between them ❤️❤️ looks perfect together! 👌

The two actors turn in amazing performances compared to their previous performances in other shows. Their chemistry is what sells the show. I agree that the female character is a throwaway character. She does not add any value to the story but acts as an exposition device to move the story forward. The story would have been so much better without her. I'm sad that there will never be a show like this for the two male actors. I was looking forward to their next projects but I fear that shows that will showcase their versatility and range - like My Roommate Is A Detective - may be rarer than a unicorn.
Thanks for the tip about iQIYI! I couldn't get it to work when I tried it - I think it may only work in certain countries. Yea, there are far too many of the same types of Chinese dramas - I can't even keep track of the number of fantasy xianxia dramas that are coming out these days. This one definitely felt pretty unique. As far as I can tell Hu Yitian's next projects will be pretty standard fare - he's going to be in the sequel to Go Go Squid and he's got another school crush/first love drama that is coming out soon.
Yea I like the theme song a lot too - it's by a Chinese rapper called After Journey. I think the show should be available with English subs on Viki.com
