My favourite. As a child, I was entranced by a picture of one in a dinosaur book yes...), and they're still my no. 1 prehistoric nightmare monster.
I'm also 100% sure my dino obsessed 8 year old son will have seen this video before me during one of his UA-cam dinosaur binges.
Hiya, always interesting. Great video. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.
Omg, so much info packed into this video and the delivery was great. Very easy to watch and stay engaged. Love the background, love the outfit
Thanks for the sweet comment Megan!
What a fascinating creature huh? Love it!
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
Love the Dimetrodon! Been obsessed with this creature since Fantasia 1940!
First educational video my kid has watched the whole way through. Thanks!
Great video. Would love to see the Australian dinosaur unofficially named as Lightening Claw included
Enjoyed that - subscribed 👍
Ever since I was little the dimetrodon was my favourite "dinosaur", and then of course I learned later on it wasn't actually a dinosaur. Still, I reckon these ancient creatures are so cool, especially being top of the food chain in many ways. Thanks for a a succinct but informative and very entertaining video!
Dimetrodon is my favorite dinosaur
Not a dinosaur tho
That’s it
@Catasaurus synapsid, more mammal like, than dinosaur like.
They were mammal-like reptiles. 🐎🦎
it's not even a reptile
@MonkeyBoy3290 4 yes, but they evolved from reptiles. They have both mammal and reptile characteristics.
@@kristianferencik8685 They did not evolve from reptiles, either. The two groups of amniotes diverged into the synapsids and the diapsids/sauropsids, which are the reptiles.
@@Defenestration700, wrong, reptiles amphibians didn't have the ability to turn they're sweat into boobsba.
@@Defenestration700, How about the anapsids, they are different from Diapsids.
So when the amniotes evolve into reptiles, the reptile are divide into three groups, the anapsids, Synapsids and Diapsids, anapsids and Diapsids because less dominant because the Synapsids has its first vegan, this vegan Synapsids causes a mass holacaust against the giant insects because they eat more plants and they consume more oxygen, because when Pangaea came, the Synapsids has two options, give up being vegan and devolve back into archaic reptiles form or evolve differently and still became vegan, so that's what happened, synapsids make an new order of animals, the Therapsids, which some of them are vegans and adaptable in living in Pangaea.
That is how mammalian form created, that form make the Synapsids adaptive living in Pangaea.
When the dinosaurs evolve, they look different from Synapsids because they didn't evolve to adapt, but they evolve to survive.
So, let say the first vegan is from the Diapsids, the Diapsids will take the second option if they want to survive in Pangaea, so the results will still the same, whoever reptile group became vegan before Pangaea arrived, they will take the fate of being descendants of the most smartest animals on Earth.
*BUT...* Can it do a silly lil dance?🤨🤔
Dimetrodon is more closely related to mammals then to dinosaurs 🐎 🦕
Dimetrodon was my first "dinosaur" toy as a kid in the 80's... so i'm gonna keep calling it a dinosaur... in spite of the last 35 years of being told: "um... that's not really a dinosaur, daniel 🤨 "
It was the best part of Jurassic World 3 😁😁
It's a synapsid, more mammal like than dinosaur like.
Not to forget their appearance in Journey To The Center of The Earth
I first saw them there on TV as a kid and they've been my favourite since!
Super cool! I l would like to see a Saber Tooth Tiger video.
I saw a animatronic Dinosaur at motet in Auckland there was dimetrodon in it
my mind still cant comprehend how 4 legged scaly egg laying trex shaped head is more related to mammals than reptiles lol its like someone telling me chickens are actually a type of pachyderm
Because the lineage that lead up to mammals was originally very reptilian and a specific group of Synapsids slowly evolved into mammals over millions of years. Fur for instance evolved from scales, independently but in a similar way to how feathers on birds came about.
These reptilian traits were passed on by a common ancestor that mammals and reptiles both share.
It's got a mammal like jaw bone, it has more than one type of teeth, it has a middle ear bone.
pachyderm isn't a taxonomic term.
Could you do the oviraptor next?
omg so this guy's my grandpa???
Could you do a miragaia video?
how about allosarus
2:01 I'm confused, what do ammonites have to do with synapsids? Aren't they invertebrates?
He probably meant amniotes.
Can you do Ceratasaurus ?
Besides the allo and brac this is my favorite beast.
Pyroraptor
Its me
Heyo
This dimetorodon Is of cretaceous live in united stqñates too from australia
Dimetrodon isn't a dinosaur
I thought that they died out 260 million years ago
How busin
Can you do the pyroraptor next ???
Coming up!

I love dimetrodon too! I know you recognize this but did you really pronounce Teutonis as ' tee-AW-tih-NAWZ?' jokes aside, great video, subscribed.
