Arts Across VA Day 2024

The initiative is Sponsored by the Virginia Art Education, the Virginia Music Educators Association, the Virginia Thespian Association, and the Virginia Coalition for Fine Arts Education. Arts Across Virginia Day is intended to raise awareness of the importance of the arts in our schools and of the many ways the arts impact our communities. All members of the art community are encouraged to post images providing snapshot of the arts on one particular day. Although the project spanned several days, today, it continues to tell the story of Life Cycles through the eyes of 6th graders!
The project shared here is one of the Maverick Mosaics Legacy projects. Participation with 120+ 6th-grade students. Awesome assignment and a successful example of cross-curriculum community art projects. Each "Life Cycle" was created with 4 hand-built clay tiles and 3 students per team. Critical thinking, team building, leadership, and wild creativity all came into play. Super proud of this one!
