My wife and I saw the show in Branson back on October 3rd as part of our 50th Anniversary celebration. Front row seats and totally blown away by their talent! It was easily the highlight of our trip and the memories are precious. May you continue to have success and bring joy to others with your music.
This lyric: "Down that dirt road There's a little piece of home That'll always be waitin' No matter where I go" = Never forget where you came from nor forget your roots. Thank you Petersens for that reminder. :-)
And there goes my toes...tapping again to another Petersen's song. You just can't argue with your toes....they just know good music when it plays! Can't fool the toes....no siree ....must be why God put them at the end of our feet....so we'd always know when good music was happening! Thank you, Petersen's! ❤️🙏❤️
Before joining the military I spent a big portion of my years on the back "dirt roads" of the Ozark Mountains. My Uncle Dutch "The Flying Dutchman" taught me how to drive down those "dirt roads" at speeds that would make you dirty yourself. My 66 Chevy Malibu hugged those roads unbelievably. I'm still alive, so it wasn't too crazy. This song and John Denver's "Country Road" take me back to the 70's. Thanks Petersen and Frantz Families
I had a dirt road and all of the wonderful things mentioned in this song in my childhood. LOVE this song! It reminds me of John Denver, a very good thing indeed!
Wonderful ending to the song. I love listening to you guys, but in particular love seeing the little smiles and acknowledgements of one another. Such family love and support!!
Loved this great song and this great performance. Bless you Ellen for your encouraging smile, always cheering on the others in their performances, and God bless you all.
When I listen to this song, I remember my childhood I caught fish in the river with my friends and my adolescence I dreamed living in a big city but came back soon after being fed up with so many people and crowded trains. This is a song which reminds me of how good my home or my country place where I brought up. I love this song and melody all of you sing and play your instruments so well.
They are pure and clean cut. A testimony to their faithfulness in, and love of God. They saved me too mate, being medically retired due to PTSD from a long firefighting career. Their positive energy is what I needed to shift focus from the negative aspects affecting my life. They are an instrument of the Divine. God Bless The Peterson's. Thank you Peterson's.
I’m sure the Petersens would say, “Put your faith in Jesus, good Sir, if you haven’t already.” I agree they’re a great band and a joy to listen to. God bless you Sir.

Down that dirt road There's a little piece of home That'll always be waiting' No matter where I go... those lyrics touched me deeply. Reflects my life story.Thank you Petersens ,you continue surprising with every new original...
Every time, a new original song, is a happy surprise. It's always something unique, truly new. In this one, some nostalgic themes already expressed in Hey Grandpa and Ozark Mountain Home are taken up again, which take us back to the grandparents' farm in Mountain Grove, to which the siblings are always very attached. But at the same time, it's easy to identify with each of us in our own childhood memories. A really catchy song, perfect for Matt's voice and destined to become a classic of folk songs, like many by John Denver, for example, to sing and play in a group on summer nights. Needless to say, the performance of the whole group was excellent and, special as always, Katie's solo!! Another huge thank you for giving us, once again, new music, always of an excellent level!!! ❤
*LYRICS - Down That Dirt Road (Original)*
------------
Skippin' rocks and jumpin' off
That bridge down by the creek
I still feel the damp of that tall grass
Underneath my bare feet
And across the yard, a big red barn
Ever-etched there in my mind
Tossed me the keys to that old truck
And taught me how to drive
Down that dirt road
There's a little piece of home
That'll always be waitin'
No matter where I go
Some things are bound to change
And some things don't
Down that dirt road
As I grew, my dreams did too
Of a bigger life to see
Out there beyond this little pond
That was now too small for me
So I pulled away my roots
And gave the city life my hand
But at night I lay awake
And dreamed about where I began
Down that dirt road
There's a little piece of home
That'll always be waitin'
No matter where I go
Some things are bound to change
And some things don't
Down that dirt road
I thought the grass would be greener
Over on the other side
But the greenest grass I've ever seen
Beneath the bluest sky
Was down that dirt road
There's a little piece of home
That'll always be waitin'
No matter where I go
So I'm goin' down that dirt road
To my little piece of home
It's always been waitin'
No matter where I go
Some things are bound to change
And some things don't
I've never been more ready to be home
And down that dirt road

Takes you back to a time where America was perhaps not perfect but it was filled with hope and family values and faith.
Sounds perfect in the face of an imperfect world, that’s for sure…
Yes, I too yearn for a time when maintaining my faith and values took no commitment or effort because everyone around carried me along.
It still exists. We just have to search for it a little harder than we used to.
