السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Sohail - May Allah bless you for this and generously sharing. I was interested in picking up an IFQ or a masters in Islamic finance - how useful would that be coming from an ACA background and which one is best?
ameen, thanks for the kind words brother i think given you have several years of practical experience IFQ is best, you dont really need to go back to uni I would look at the CISI one - hope thats helpful!
Wa'alaikumassalam, this is the first time I have come across your channel(through ibrahim) and jazakallah khair for your inputs. So basically, after taking a course in Islamic finance we need to work in the conventional banking industry to gain experience which can involve haram directly or indirectly to some extent. Why is it the case? Why are there so few options for us muslims in the finance industry? Why is it so complicated to begin our career in a halal way? If this industry is so niche with way less opportunities why the people keep talking about how IF is growing and all. It hurts so much. I hope the handful of sharia-based companies hire freshers.
All good points - it's mainly because the best talent that exists in IF comes from conventional finance And because IF is niche, they can be picky on who comes through and that is often those with extensive experience in conventional. In addition to this, there's not a lot of entry level roles and the reality is that the experience and exposure from entry level IF positions arent as good as conventional ones. Like I mentioned in the video, there are finance sectors that you can develop your skillset in that doesn't involve riba - so that's probably the best route to go down Let me know if any more Q's
@@SohaibAshraf Jazakallah khair for a detailed response. Yes, I have a few questions, I am currently pursuing an MBA in finance from a local institute. We don't have many placements so what kind of courses and the career path do you suggest I should take that can help me migrate to the Middle East? (BTW I am a fresher)
refreshing to see a different style of vid. Good work!
Thanks man - glad you like
Allahuma barak!
