Shooting 1,000 yards with a Mosin Nagant. Yeah, that happened... Arken optics: bit.ly/3bLTkjz Code "texasplinking" gives you the biggest savings currently being offered.
@@twistednixon2911 well yeah, but it’s also 1000 yards. It’s not as hard as people try to make it sound. That being said it’s not easy to hit a 1 moa or .5 moa target at that range. My point being the kid would shoot and make an adjustment. Some of these people I swear don’t use their reticle to measure their adjustment. It’s not that hard. Some might be from variation In load, but some I’ve watched I’m like holy crap this dude is just putting round after round in the same spot. Mind you I shoot long range and extremely long range in sustained 8-12mph wind and sometimes gusts as much as 20. But if a kid with a mosin and a swfa fixed 10 can do it then the dude with the AI and the khales should be able to is my point.
This young man with mosin seems to be very familiar with his rifle. The consistency of impacts, very good triger job. More than another older shooters with much better equipment in this challenge. To achieve this with scopemout fixed in rearsight holder and milsurp rifle layed on ammobox and bag... He shows that sometimes you do not need so much expencive equipment. Very good job, respect.
Mosin Nagant accuracy is better with the bayonet attached. Apparently, the Russians knew about barrel vibrations as the bullet traveled through and the Bayonet helped curb the vibrations.
On a sniper rifle, zeroing was carried out WITHOUT a bayonet. In the infantry - with a bayonet. Because an infantry rifle was considered “brought to a combat position” precisely with a bayonet attached.
I picked up one of these when they first hit the market for $65 at Gander Mountain in Houston. Found ammo for it there as well. Headed to the 100 yd range and was amazed at the accuracy, 2-3/4” group for 5 rounds. Impact point was way over on the right side and about 5” high of center but the grouping was amazing for a surplus referb rifle that was date stamped 1938. Best $65 I have ever spent.
This poor guy was nervous AF and he still took care of business. I'll bet if the nerves were emoved he would have hit that target in 3 or 4 shots and nailed the 2nd one.

Mosin guy got it done with a $80 rifle and a $300 scope. There’s dudes with $5-6K set ups who haven’t hit in 10 rounds lol
There's certainly some know-how involved (load data, dope, wind read, etc) but ultimately he held the gun still and squeezed the trigger 🤙.

Guy just knows his rifle. Familiarity goes a long ways, which is why practice is so important.
KCYO0311 Okay expert guy lol
@@justinbushman277 you’d be correct.
One of the most entertaining shooters and rifle thus far. I think everyone was rooting for him to get it done with the Mosin, great job.
Rumor has it Mosin guy took out a prairie dog with a derringer he had in his boot at 500 off camera.
Best shooter you've had yet

@@ВинниПух-у5п Exactly.Soviet infantrymen had little if any marksmanship training. Snipers attended schooling and were selected individuals.
Every time I watch this, I am reminded why 54r is still in use.
Mosin Guy 🗿

so awesome he did it with cheap ammo too!! Good stuff!!!
Simo Hayha would be proud (although he used iron sights.....insane)
He had a Finish mosin, the Russians ones were of poor quality due to the whole nazi invasion thing
@@lolwutyoumadcool, because mines a 1932 hex! 😂😂😂
Best bolt action rifle ever ..impressive resume .
That scope is so high it looks like a monument
Always gotta love the mosin bubba builds
the Chad Mosin

@TexasPlinkingGear I just did 1500 yards with my mosin.
Sure you did chad. Surrre you did.
Giga is his second name xD
Nice! I love my Mosin at long range!
Dudes a legend. Lol
This guy wins. A frreaking mosin. NICE
Basically anything in 100-300 yards should be ez then. Miss my $100 mosin. They aren't 50-150 bucks any more LOL
I hit 1000 yards with my model 1917 no scope. My wife did a great job too. HOw big are these targets
Is that synced up correctly?? Cause man! That round gets downrange in a jiffy.
Bag on the floppy ammo can is a no go but good anyway good to see young people at the range
Outstanding.
Maybe the barrel is still cold with 1st to 5th shoot...imho.
What was their requirements/standards for sniper rifles?
Wow! never under estimate the Mosin.. I guess they dont make them like they used to do they?
nice!!
Front rest needed to be more solid, the rocking causing to much shift bag in front could minimize that or choke back few inches on prone position
Bravo!
Chad
Awesome
The only thing that I would say about your speaking on the Arken scope is that you talked too slow !!
dude the front rest is poor
лол ))
you call that abomination a Mosin? where's the cleaning rod?
