Welcome to the 6th episode of the Texas Plinking 1 MOA At 1,000 Yards Challenge. A monthly video series where I let 5 fans come out with their equipment and attempt to shoot a 10" gong at 1,000 yards in under 10 shots. If they hit it, they can use their remaining shots on the 5" gong. The 10" gong is worth 10 points and goes down 1 point after every shot. The 5" gong is worth 20 points and goes down 2 points after every shot. Once both are hit, the challenge is complete and each unfired round is an additional point. The winner of this episode gets a free RISE ICONIC 2-stage trigger. Let me know what you think of this new points system! New episodes go live on the 1st Monday of every month! Great series man. I have a request. You shoot a lot of nice long range guns and we all enjoy it. I’d like to see you use a hunting setup and see if you can get it done. Good glass , quality rifle. I’m not asking for you to use a cheap deer rifle , but something less long range and more hunting would be interested I think. Thx for the great content ✌🏻
The point system is definitely an evolution to the competition. I think I prefer it to the original version, only because contestants are inevitably going to be much more proficient as you produce more episodes.
I like the new point system, and in general I love this competition. I find myself always getting excited with every shooter just hoping they get it. Seriously one of favorite things to watch
I kind of saw this coming with the I built this rifle crowd. Gun manufacturers know their stuff, bolting on accessories and shit not going to make the rifle any better. Practice and knowing your weapon daily is where it is at.
One of the few video series on yt that I truly look forward to each month. I didn't know it could get any better - I like the points system. And yes Brandon, .308 for episode 7 please.
Definitely wanna see a full video on that 18" 6.5 curious what velocity your getting out of factory ammo at your elevation compared to what I am out of my cross in the mountains of PA
Love this new points system. But you definitely have to get all the successful shooters in the previous system back to compare them. Would be kinda unfair to have a champion round if those previous shooters only had one shot at the smaller target. Be interesting to see Chad with his Mosin hit the smaller target
@@Allen338LMjust got a 6.5 creed. The research I’m seeing is, depending on the receiver, barrel, length, etc, bullet weight makes a noticeable difference across the board. I’m playing with 6.5 Creedmoor, 140 gr, 2675 fps, Sierra MatchKing BTHP. And Norma’s 130-grain Open Tip Match load in 6.5 Creedmoor.
He was killing me with that rear bag 😂. Just fill a sock with rice and get rid of all that sliding back and forth. I’m interested in that round now though
I like the points system a lot, but would still like to see the shot numbers overlaid near the target like the previous episodes. It's nice to see how they work towards the target with the adjustments they are making.

new point system makes it more competitive and i just love this series anyways, has taught me alot and i just genuinely enjoy watching all the different types of guns and people and how they both perform
I love this series! It's probably my favorite "show" anywhere on TV or Internet. And man, Brandon murdered the challenge with a new rifle?! FANTASTIC. This series motivates me to spend more time on the long range. (my last time out I was hitting at 1000 with a .308 and a spotter, but could only manage consistent shots at 800 without my spotter calling the wind)
I watch a lot of gun related content on YT, but i gotta say, this series is the content i get the most giddy about. I dont even do long range shooting. Either way, great stuff, wish it was more often.
This series is awesome. It is great to watch individuals challenging themselves, and their rifles. They all should be very proud of themselves , their gear and training levels. It was awesome seeing the 308 Win in action, especially with so many videos talking about it becoming inferior. It was also great to see the basic Savage showing its capabilities. Looking forward to the next video.
Love this series. Reinforces how important the shooter is vs the rifle. I can convince myself I need a higher end rifle with all the accessories, but it would be better to put that money towards trigger time.
I'll say it again, I think this is my favorite thing on UA-cam. Additionally, I like the new format. Keep 'em coming. To all the shooters, heck of a job everyone. And Courtney needs to come back.
The new format is awesome! Love the point system. Let’s get a Texas Plinking Championship!!! Maybe after 10 point system shoots take the top 5-10 shooters and compete. Love the content keep it up.
Episode 7, like the man said. .308. We all know you can do it. Besides id love to see your .308 setup. Love the new point system and this series, such a pleasure to watch.
Good shooting everyone. I think some of the most impressive shooting was by the Arkansas guy with a nothing special 308 but I could be biased since he’s in my state. The lady done some good shooting as well. Really liking the challenge and waiting for the next one. 👍
This is going to get REALLY big. Oh, shoot the next one with .308. I lived in Austin and was really active and recognize all your filming locations, makes me a little nostalgic. I shoot often and still have a lot of friends and family in North Austin so I go back regularly. Love this series.
Need to make episodes every week. Love this show. Seeing the different rifles and their combinations and then their performance is awesome. One other point to bring up is that women can hang with the men in shooting competitions, no need for separate division.
I really enjoyed this new format....it was really fun and personally, I think it gives the shooters a bit more inspiration. Prizes all around, great time!!

@DevinByrd that's awesome sir. I'm blown away on how you did with your equipment and caliber choice I honestly though you were going to be at major deficit but you had a super tight group and pulled through. That's sick
