Folks, In this video I showed the basic sounds of this pedal that would be obvious to any user. But I always intended to do a separate video featuring my own personal favourite ways of using this pedal, sounds that are a bit more distinctive and interesting. Please let me know if you would like another video along those lines 😁
Thanks so much 😍 i never got into them, maybe I should give them a listen. Hey the other week I saw a very reasonably priced sansamp classic in a second hand shop, I was so close to pulling the trigger 😆 I've always wanted one...someday maybe
Na busca por um equipamento com peso reduzido e qualidade sonora optei pelo SamsAmp gt2. Assim que minha unidade chegar espero obter o mesmo resultado que ouço em seu ótimo vídeo.
Picked up this pedal at the pawn shop for $50 and it has blown my mind. I can't even say enough how much I love the tone on this. I am using the british setting and can't put my strat down. Just begs to be played. Savage Marshall tone. so good.
😁 Dude I've had so much mileage out of this pedal, I recommend that you experiment with it, there's a lot of sounds to be had. Do you run it in front of an amp or straight into a mixer? I love it for direct recording type stuff Picking one up for 50 bucks is a good day at the office for sure
Bro 😍 cheers, I've had this pedal a long time, I haven't even uploaded how I actually use it yet, I have my own secret recipes I like to use 😁 I've been uploading vids about an actual Marshall valve amp lately and I hate to say it but I think the sansamp is better, like WAY better 🤣
Hey man I've never used it that way, my suspicion is you'd need a DI box...i think its because PA inputs are set up for microphones. If there was a line-in on the PA, personally I'd try it in that input but don't quote me on that I guess 😏
I have been using the GT2 behind my Keeley D&M drive pedal to use as a boost, both running into my Boogie Mark V clean channel or channel 2. It does works as a boost and gets much louder but muddies up and loses some of the scooped pristine tone you demoed it to have. Based on your great sounding demo of the GT2, I think I will try it in front of the Keeley and hear what happens. I might come the conclusion to use one or the other and not both and then find a way boost the signal without sacrificing tone. My Mesa provides boost with the "solo" foot switch, but the tone changes for too much midrange in my opinion. I want to find the perfect tone and then be able to boost it without changing it. THANKS! Onward for the never-ending search for the perfect tone.
Thanks man 😁 My favourite use for this is not in the video, always meant to do a "favourite tones" type vid... basically using the marshall sound on this pedal and throwing an overdrive between the guitar and this pedal, as if you were using the overdrive to push the gt2. Need to get a video up of that!
This is a great video...I have owned the GT2 for awhile and this video pushed me to pull it out of the drawer and fall in love with it again!!!!! Thanks!!!
Hey thanks man I appreciate it 😊 There's another video on this pedal I'd love to do but I just don't think people would find it when they searched so it would be kinda pointless ;/ theres a lot of good sounds to be had from this pedal messing around with guitar input volume etc. Doesn't sound exciting but the tones are great 😍 Maybe I'll make it when this one gets to 10,000 views 😁
Hey man sorry I have not used it through a PA. as for other effects I tend to use this when I just wanna plug and play, you know? I like the basic sounds and tend to not add much other stuff, although it does sound good with a distortion pedal running into it on the Marshall settings
Great stuff! I just dug out my GT2 as I'm recording some home demos and the amp sims in my Zoom G3 just don't cut it. I always forget how trusty this thing is. The tone you got at 6:12 is incredible!
"say hello to my little friend..." :) just ordered a used one for a reasonable price, mostly for the British sounds! the Tweed was really good too. I won't be surprised I end up running this into the effects return of my old Peavey modeling amp, made at a time when modeling was still expensive but not quite as robust as I assume the expensive stuff is today. I assume if I toss an EQ in front of / after the "California" model (presumably Mesa Dual Rectifier? Soldano ish?), I'll be able to bump or cut certain frequencies. they're so absurdly dark for my taste that I would likely want to carefully shave off as much low end as possible without killing the mids. presumably EQ will help with that, just not sure if it's a pre or post sim thing.
Hey man cheers for checking out the video 😁 Confession - I don't tend to use the Mesa sound on this, I suppose mainly because I like the marshall sounds a lot. Like you say, that low end on the Mesa is kind of a problem, but people say that about the real amps. I'm thinking probably you should cut the low end going INTO the pedal, in fact I've never really done this myself... I'm curious to maybe cut low end, boost volume, and maybe even compress going into the pedal 🤔 Just to say, on the marshall settings I LOVE actually slamming the input with a drive pedal, I would encourage you to tweak your signal going in 😁
@@geartweaker8518 I don't own that pedal, but you should try a tube sscreamer in front of it. At least the Recifier useres do it to control the lowend. Drive 0, Level full up. Tone to taste. maybe that wokrs on the GT2 aswell... :-)
@@geartweaker8518 This is the most comprehensive demo out there. I watched the whole thing without skips. I love watching people who knows the gear they own.
I am about to do some home recording and this is very helpful, thanks for the settings shared. love the british slightly driven tone 10 o'clock, and 11 o'clock
That's awesome dude 😁 i was actually on Ebay yesterday thinking about picking up a sansamp classic to review...i used the gt2 for years and always wanted to try the original sansamp 😍
@@geartweaker8518 I have both, and I actually like the GT2 a bit more because it's easier to dial in higher gain sounds and has better on-board EQ. Original / Classic model has better control of edge-of-breakup sounds, and you'll need to refine the EQ at the board. Both great pedals
Interesting, I think sansamp used to have little sound clips of the Classic up on their website (maybe they still do) and as you say it was the more subtle break-up sounds on the classic that I liked the sound of, which I don't think the GT2 does so well with. To be quite honest the thing I like the look of with the classic is all those little microswitches to mess around with 😁
Hey thanks a lot thats super appreciated ❤️ Can't help getting some vibes going when I'm coming up with these little demoes, I liked this one a lot I have it uploaded separately if you're ever looking for it - ua-cam.com/video/NjqnDFVB9Jc/v-deo.html
Hey man thanks for watching 🙂 probably just a matter of balancing sounds out at the mixing stage. I will state what I have done just to be extra clear what you are hearing on the vid, but some basic EQ is almost always going to be applied at the mixing stage to stop sounds from getting in each others way. Hope that helps 👍
And the tweed sounds pretty horrible -- fizzy, white noise -- on anything other than the clean setting... I think I'll stick with the British and the Blonde Character pedals. Way better sounds in my opinion. Thanks for the demo!
Hey man i try to show it like it is! 😁 Its definitely an aggressive sound. Some bands get these kinda over the top sounds out of their fenders on purpose but its not what everyone is looking for To be fair, if you were running the pedal through an amp that would likely take some of the top end off 👍
Hey buddy, The way I use this pedal is plugged straight into my recorder, so its just guitar, pedal, straight into my desk. Tech 21 say you can use it with amps as well but all the sounds in my video were just recorded directly, no amp

Hey man thanks for watching :) The Fender tones are done on a USA Strat (single coils) and the rest (i'm pretty sure) was on an Ibanez Prestige (so, humbuckers) Hope that helps!
For example, at the beginning the caption says that all parts except the bass “are using this tone.” How did you record the bass? SansAmp for bass or….?
Nah I don't think I used the sansamp on any of the bass here. Pretty sure I was running my bass thru a zoom multistomp throughout all the musical examples, which is truly a guitar pedal rather than a bass pedal. I've had pretty nice results in the past using the Fender mode for bass guitar but that hasn't made it onto any of my videos so far. I may do further videos with this pedal in the future as these are really just the 'vanilla' settings, you can do a lot more with the pedal, including using it for bass. But a it stands the video got pretty long already with what I had done so I decided to leave it at that at the time!
