Charu please do a bit longer session. I really like your approach and explanation. Really would like to hear from you about Nietzsche and other philosophers of both the East and West. Please do make a video about it. Really appreciate your natural approach. Look forward to it
Try reading the Individual Psychology of Alfred Adler. Nietzsche Beyond Good and Evil is a good read, Jaddu Krishnamurti's any book is also a good read.
Only a youtuber whom I want to listen speaking on every topic under the sun. With out any bondage of love and friendship or any other relationship just what to hear her endlessly.
I read "Godan " last month. Munshi Ji explained the differences in human emotions, poverty & different drawbacks of society that are relatable in today's time as well. I have cried more than 15-20 times reading this novel. There is a part where the protagonist wants to buy a cow and one day he gets the cow. The way Munshi Ji wrote the situation, you will be smiling and crying at the same time. I think this is the quality of a writer while reading the words of his book, we are actually living in that situation. It is difficult for Me to express it in words, you can only feel it. I have also dreamt of buying things & I could imagine the happiness of that day. I humbly request you to read it once in " Hindi ". you will thank me later.
" The painter of signs " by R.K Narayan from Karnataka, this author has won sahitha academy award for English, he is one of the legends who revolutionised English literature in India. He is also the creator of the famous Novel " Malgudi days".
"Ghachar Ghochar" by Vivek Shanbaug. I read the translation and it was so good. If you want a chill and cute mystery I recommend the "The Bangalore Detectives Club" by Harini Nagendra.
You might want to look at Abraham Eraly's works on Indian history. I don't know how appealing history is to you, but his writing is very readable and engaging. Your videos are very good and I like them. Thank you.
Yeah he's one of the few Indian history writers who strike the balance between tedious academic writing and dumbed down pop-history. His books are engaging without compromising on academic integrity
I would recommend reading Kalki's work - SIvakami's Vow : Paranjyothi's journey. Author of south india which narrates the story of pallava dynasty from the past.
I haven't seen you guys talking about Arundhati Roy. So try picking up The God of Small Things or The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. I would love to hear Charu or Vaani talking about her.
@@Virmani.cthese people are extremely brainwashed. There is just one work by that anti national and that too below average. People keep praising her cause being an anti national is a new cool these days..
Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment Orhan Pamuk's Museum of Innocence (Of course you should read Snow and My name is Red, if you haven't)
Ashokamithran's novels and short stories translation from Tamil, Charu Niveditha's transgressive novels translation - recent book "The Conversation with Aurengazeb"
Read: "Those Days" by Sunil Gangopadhyay (Translated from Bengali by Aruna Chakravarti) --> This is about the Bengal Renaissance. The part 2 of the above book is "First Light" also translated by the same author. Both are fabulous books. Sunil G. imo is the Tolstoy of India because he writes such expansive novels. One more book I would recommend is 'Srikanta' by Saratchandra Chattopadyay. This is also translated from Bengali by Aruna Chakravarti. Srikanta is a semi-autobiographical first-person narrative about an open-minded Brahmin drifting through 19th-century Bengal. Do check them out. Also, really appreciate your recommendations. Keep them coming. And, a small anecdote, Sunil Gangopadhyay while he was in the US at Iowa University he spent considerable time with all the beat writers including Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, etc. In one Bengali interview, Sunil has mentioned how Kerouac inspired him to write his first novel. Beat that :)
I would recommend two books: one is 'Karmelin' by Goan writer Damodar Mauzo who recently won the Jnanpeeth Award. The other is 'Hindu: Jagnyachi Smaruddha Adgal' by Marathi writer Bhalchandra Nemade. Believe me, this book is a magnum opus. It's not available with an English translation, however, there is a translation in Hindi by one Dr. Gorakh Thorat. I have read it in its original Marathi. Do give it a try.
I would recommend a book by marathi female author Lakshmibai Tilak called Smritichitre: The Memoirs of a Spirited Wife. Its considered one of classics in marathi literature. The original book also called smritichitre is translated by Shanta Gokhale...who is equally a great writer in her own right. Also checkout Crowfall by Shanta Gokhale.
if you want an ardent appreciation of man among nature, you could pick up Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay's novel 'Aranyak' (Of The Forest), and if you want a more intensely introspective book, please read Manik Bandopadhyay's 'Putul Nacher Itikatha' (The Puppets' Tale). Also, you could read about the Hungry Generation in Bengali poetry... you might find some similarities in their ethos with the Beats...
Great video. Thank you for recommending a book from the beat generation. I am a huge fan of Jack Kerouac. On the other note, I will recommend 'Nectar in a sieve ' by Kamala Markandaya.

Why not. She has very seducing voice. And people like you definitely want to listen to her. Go and study. Why are you wasting time on her.
Your voice is just so soothing.
