- We're heading from Double Island point to Hervey Bay. This is how we cross the notorious Wide Bay Bar.
We cruise extensively along the East Australian Coast on our 13 meter catamaran. Join us as we explore new cruising grounds, cross bars, fix all kinds of problems, ride out rough weather and live aboard for extended periods.
We even have a playlist that gets us on other peoples boats.
We hope that our videos encourage others to get on board and experience this fantastic lifestyle.

Glad to help dude. Thanks for watching.
Crossed the bar about an hour after you did.
This video is spot on. You should send it to wbb coast guard and they should share it as an awesome how to guide.👍
Yeah dude. Thought it could have been worse.
Great video Norm you’re such a pro .. thanks again for your time efforts sharing your crossing have fun
Thanks Kaye
I have done the WB bar a few times thirty years ago doing yacht deliveries but am looking forward to seeing it again.
It's a bit easier with way points or virtual marks.
Thanks champion 👍
Thanks Norm, as always great practical info. This time on using virtual buoys which we do not encounter too often.
Yeah dude. Think they could probably be placed in other destinations.
I took the fisherman’s channel last time I went through there. Worked a treat
Yeah dude.
I'll do it going out, but not on the way in.
Good honest response from Monica! Very good info
Thanks Dude.
Good one Norm, virtual AIS is a fantastic improvement to safety at sea.
It is Dude.
Why doesn’t the state government dredge a channel through the bar ?
Would be a very big job and probably wouldn't last long.
