I feel that lots of companies make the mistake of continuously putting out “meh” products, simply to satisfy the internets constant craving for something new. I wish they would take more time and put out genuinely amazing products less often.

Agreed!! Milani is one of my fave drugstore brands because they have a slower release cycle but they're ALWAYS hitting it out of the park. My only wish for them is that they expand their shade ranges!! I'm too pale for their base products. 😭
I feel like Milk is just making products for TikTok at this point. It’s weird. Everything has been so gimmicky and novel, like “Wow look at this jelly blush!” Or “Wow look at this foamy primer!”
they used to be like this with tumblr too. the marker shaped eyeliners and lip stains, the horribly grey looking holographic highlighter, they were super gimmicky

This video idea is such a great concept. You still get to make content for the products that didn’t work for you, talk about why they didn’t work for you, and then, if someone happens to know how to get to work properly, they can give advice.

Hi Jamie😌 The Josie Maran body butter in Vanilla Bean is still available and it does smell like the original Vanilla Bean. I too thought the same of Vanilla Vibez.
I feel the same about the Josie maran vanilla vibezzz, but the TOPLESS TANGERINE scent is so good
I'm really glad that Josie maran didn't change the formula of the body butter! I've been worried about it because it's the best body butter of all time, but I use the unscented version anyway.

They should just make an unscented version and a vanilla one to suit everyone. I love scent and the original vanilla scent was very nice.

Oh no!! I got a sample of the vanilla vibezzz and I thought it smelled lovely on the body! A very fresh vanilla lol. BUT! In the tub I thought it smelt like vanilla yogurt lol. The orange 🍊 one is a VIBE for summer
The saie lip gloss reminds me of makeup from the 1990s, something your mum would own and you would steal from her collection…

I’m still trying to work with the Anastasia’s stick foundation too. My third I attempted I used it with a brush and just did a very light application just to even out my complexion. It seemed to look better. I definitely didn’t not like it directly onto my face because it felt thick and like you said made me super oily and was breaking up. I agree it’s not worth the hype. I wish I tried the new UD matte setting foundation.

Does it actually smell like apricot? I've seen people say it smells more citrusy, but I would buy it instantly if it was actually a creamy apricot scent.
@kayzinn7020 Yes i think it does. I have a few apricot trees on my farm, and it reminds me of the apricots that are perfectly ripe 🥰

I am in the market for a new body butter and was going to gift myself the Josie Maran one for my upcoming birthday, so your review is very timely! I'm glad to hear the formula is wonderful...just wondering if I should get a different scent. I wish they carried them in stores here so I could give them all a sniff.
I have the Glow recipe bronzing serum and I love it!! I haven’t noticed it looking too shimmery, but I don’t use other dewy products over it so maybe that’s why?
Have you tried Lush’s Sympathy for the Skin? It’s a vanilla lotion- it has vanilla bean in it. One of my faves. In the pot it doesn’t smell as good as it does once it warms up on the body.

Don’t bother with the Josie Maran Vanilla Bean body butter scent. I bought it and can confirm it smells TOTALLY UNSCENTED. I was so disappointed.

I love your videos and almost always agree with you but I don’t agree about the shimmer of the Glow Recipe product. I mix it with the Kosas BB.burst like you did in a short and I love it. I don’t ever see shimmer.
I totally agree with this comment! I actually prefer the Glow Recipe Hue Drops over the Drunk Elephant product. I don’t see any shimmer when I use it either.
Fully agree, I hated the Drunk Elephant one and absolutely love the Glow Recipe one!

I purchased the Josie Maran you’re reviewing (haven’t received it yet @ the time of this comment) at my Sephora in Florida based on its 340 reviews w/ 4.5 ⭐️ listed first was “smell,satisfaction,softness”. I’m 58 and have been using J.M. for over a decade and have never come across a review that stated a lack of fragrance 🤷♀️. I actually first purchased J.M. primarily for the winter seasons when I lived in New York and was immediately hooked by the scent and hydration. I’m sad 😔 to hear you had this experience with it .
Josie Maran released new scrubs at the same time and they are awful! They are more shea butter than scrub so it feels like rubbing butter on yourself in the shower and the sugar melts immediately. No scrubbing at all.

Josie's body butter was my favourite, as well, for ten years. I would stock up from QVC when traveling to the States. I saw a couple months ago the new packaging and said "uh oh!" I haven't even tried it yet but I just knew...how tragic 😂
The LUSH Sympathy for the Skin is really nice and has real flecks of vanilla and smells amazing to me. It DOES have banana in it, but it's very subtle and real banana, not fake. But I feel like it leads fresh vanilla bean. And it's super moisturizing, you might love it. In terms of what I do not get that everyone else seems to love, are the Glow Recipe Dew Drops. To me it smells so cloying and like some product for really young girls and it made my skin really upset (and I'm usually fine with niacinamide). Maybe it was the fragrance that was bothering me, but it was overwhelming.
I like the Josie Maran Vanilla Vibez Body Butter; it has a light scent that I smell more on the dry down on the skin than out of the jar. I also like the Saie lip gloss. To me it just has an “unscented” scent. Similar to the Josie Maran Unscented Body Butter.

I was really disappointed by the Hue drops too but for different reasons, I found it pilled and looked patchy so it looked like my face was dirty instead of warm and glowy 😢

Yesssss omg to the SAI lip gloss, the smell just smells like chemicals and you can almost taste it which is so disappointing because the color “dip” looks and feels AMAZING! 😭😭😭
It’s just the castor oil you’re smelling. ☺️ which makes sense because it’s the first ingredient I believe in the list. I compared the smell to a bottle of castor oil I have and it smells exactly the same. It personally doesn’t bother me but I’m sure it can be unpleasant for some! ☺️

I think if you have medium-dark skin you might actually like the watermelon hue drops. It’s the only bronzing drop that “shows up” on my skin tone. It doesn’t deposit the most colour the it has a gorgeous glow. I’m guessing the shimmer Jaime noticed on her skin is darker which doesn’t show up on my skin 💘

The Gucci having a strong perfume smell is odd, since I don’t feel that the lipsticks are that fragranced.
I only buy Josie Maran products on QVC. Better prices/sets and they still have old packaging currently and the original Vanilla Bean in some products.

The new pure vanilla bean scent is like the old one! It just costs more now for less product 🫠. But it’s still a holy grail product for me bc of the formula
