    Nice build. Thanks, currently building the AMT wrecker myself, your video has made assembly easier with some tricky small part locations.

    Very well done on the Peterbilt 359 wrecker Doug! I built mine in the spring of '21 and it came out pretty well with the exception of not having a good mounting system for the cab as you dealt with on yours. I had to line mine up right behind the hood and glue it there. It would be nice if Round 2 would update these old kits and make them better engineered!

    This particular model I have just put together and I’ve been building bottles for a lot of years, but this one proved to be fuel fitting in my opinion. It’s obviously an old kit and I should’ve brushed up on some of my skills before I attempted this one. I wasn’t satisfied with the outcome. It pleases me to see other people who have tried this kit and done wonderful things with it.

    How does the pulley attach to the end of the boom? There is a hole through the pulley but there is a slot in the boom...no pegs or anything

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Рік тому

      K1, The Boom Pulley halves #195 are assembled. The Boom Base is attached to the Boom Rest then the Boom Bottom is attached to the Platform Assembly. The Outer Boom Assembly is attached to the Boom Pivot and the Boom Rest. The Inner Boom is slid into the Outer Boom. The Boom Pulley is attached to the Inner Boom. Hope that helps! -Doug

      @@RightOnReplicas how does the pulley attach though? It doesn't have anything to attach to. Just a hole through it.

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Рік тому

      K1, The through hole in the inner boom may have gotten flashed over. If so, you'll need to bore a small one on each side where the center hole on the pulley is and push a small piece of rod stock through to mount it. Send me an email to righton@rightonreplicas.com and I'll send you an illustration. -Doug

    The engine needs paint. If it is Cummins in that year was beige, Cat would be yellow

    AMT is not a kit anyone should build. They always have a terrible fit. I won’t touch them. Especially from 1971.

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  2 місяці тому

      Bob, some of the newest kits by AMT are top-notch like the new Ford Bronco models. On the other hand, older kits are wanted for their subject matter and folks are happy to do the extra work to build them. That's one reason for our channel - to help builders overcome issues that they might find and produce a finished model for their shelf!
