I cannot agree MORE! I’m married to a German from the Rhineland. Germans are total experts at slowing things down a little to truly enjoy and experience every moment of seeing things we’ve never seen before. My German wife loves to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or beer, and SLOWLY eat at a restaurant/cafeteria at a foreign tourist site and hates how so many, especially Americans rush through things. On a tour and everyone is faces buried in phones and glancing at watches and shoveling food down their throats in 5 minutes and hurrying to do nothing! She loves to talk about everything…from the food, the sights, the history and US! I GUARANTEE YOU she’s added extended years to my life. I ❤️ my 🇩🇪 !
I’m a Scot who met my now German wife over 25 years ago. We’ve traveled all over the world together and can 100% agree that you just have to travel with a German. We met in Germany when I was working there and our first trip together was Scotland. My wife had studied in Scotland and she knew more about my country than I did. This is still one of the best trips of my life, which is strange seeing that I used to live there.
The part that I liked most in this video, is you saying that you disconnected and recharged in Ireland. Leaving the camera off and behind can be so pleasent. Take care!^^
Been a while since I left a comment here but damn.. your videos just keep getting better and better Nick! Once again, it felt like I was watching a movie. Keep up the great work man. Glad to see you so happy with Laura as well.
Well that was a pleasant surprise. As a Scotsman living in Germany it was nice to see the old country again. I must also say that after living here for so long, I am pretty “germanised”, as far as crossing on red goes etc, and during my last trip back home I felt like a total bafoon stood there waiting for the green man before crossing, as everyone else sauntered across the street without batting an eye.
How does this guy only has 113k subscribers. The quality of the video, from the visuals to the story telling is just immaculate. Im just blown away by the production quality. Much love from germany ^^
I could not concentrate on Scotland watching this video. I was so overwhelmed by the deep mutual love I could see in the eyes of the two of you. Go for it! You are made for each other! Believe it or not!
fun fact, this dutch cheesehead, living in North Germany, is watching now your awesome video with a fine glass of Talisker Storm (from the isle of Skye btw) stay safe and grts....
So cool! As a Canadian who is blessed by many German travel friends and an amazing Swiss German girlfriend, I can confirm your travel experience shared here. We also are heading to the Isle of Skye in early August after a quick tour of Iceland.
Scotland is so amazing. Had the best vacation of my life there. We spent two weeks touring around in an RV, including Isle of Skye as well. Stunning landscape and amazing people. 10/10
Great video, I think living in Europe is growing on you NALF. In NC, we have Highland games too, kilts and all. The drone footage adds so much to the videos. Also, you had a smile almost the whole time.
Wow! Amazing job with the quality of this "film"! Gorgeous vistas, your signature humor, easy-going Laura, and an entertaining story. So professional. Danke!!!❤
A little tip for driving in left-hand or right-hand traffic, the steering wheel must always be in the middle of the road, no matter where you are driving in the world!
Man, it's been like a YEAR since I've seen a NALF video. And I didn't get my end of video theme music! I'm never coming back! You've changed man, put out a movie and now all your videos are high quality. Great work bro.
I’m also American & my partner is German, and all Laura’s…let’s say “influences” 🇩🇪😉 are true with us. Plans, maps, insurance, trekking gear/walking. I like wandering & exploring randomly. Combining that with planned travel works out great 👍🏼 Not really your State’s thing, but dude, the comprehensively 🤔😮 NRW village Schützenfests are REALLY something to be experienced 🍻💥🎶🕺🏼🥃 🎉🤴🏼👸🏼🇩🇪
Good call, Laura, about going for a hike to reset- I think I will- as well as insurance. Everyday reality isn’t bad if you stop to appreciate it. Glad it was a good trip, thanks for sharing
Scotland, Edinburgh, and Ireland !!!! It does not get better than that !! My favorite places in the whole world... And your lady seems like a keeper to me.. Cheers !!

Great trip vids, being Canadian but with European DNA roots for my wife and myself we have most of that German trip wisdom down pat, even to the paper backup's and maps. I do so far rely on my credit credit card for rental insurance so am North American maybe in that way, but so far have rented cars outside of the UK. Look forward to new adventures, post some Bavarian travel/hike stuff soon as we are going to be in Germany for 3 weeks in August.
If you're in Bavaria in August, try to avoid tourist hotspots like Neu Schwanstein Castle or Chiemsee. You can easily rent a car and take smaller streets (Landstaße), avoid highways on saturdays. Use google earth in advance to check the surrounding areas or maybe look for restaurants. Be prepared for non English speaking people in rural areas -but I'm sure they will be helpful and nice anyway! Enjoy your stay

Very epic video. Especially epic: 7:34 with Nalf pointing at a Näss Loch by Loch Ness. (I know you were fishing for a similarly shallow joke with 10:42, but I don't fall for that)
Some of my favourite places to have visited were where you went in Scotland. Was the hike after "the incident" for nature in Aviemore (Cairngorms National Park? Looked to me like there was a distant Loch that had an island with a castle ruin.
