I've read a few Shadamy stories and yeah they do kind of follow this kind of plot Sonic hurts Amy usually by rejecting her harsher than usual, Shadow comforts or helps her, or even flat out dates her, Sonic finally realizes he does like Amy and tries to get her back.
This arc mostly does seem to follow that formula.

The problem is I don't think Jamie REALLY wants to be with Shadie. His heart belongs to Sonica. Shadie is sortof the runner up option, which, isn't bad, but it's not who he REALLY wanted.
Oh boy. There’s so much drama that I could burst! Feeling bad for Jamie, Shadie, and Sonica. Seriously! This needs to be resolved and basically over with. Jamie probably has to be a man (like he’s said) and choose who to be with. Shadie actually likes him and Sonica is the same (just isn’t showing it). Maybe he could go to Amy for advice but ultimately, it’s up to him. I support who you choose Jamie and I’m rooting for you!!

Okay, I'm starting to believe Shadie. I mean she starts crying so she shows emotion and she accepts hugs even if it's from Jamey. We're talking about Shadie here. I think she would rather stay true to her ways than make Sonica jealous. In fact, I can really see her in a relationship with Jamey now. I'm not actually a Shadamy fan, but I find this kind of cute. I kind of wish Shadie and Jamey would get together. They both deserve it.

(Unless Shadie betrays us) I think I'm leaning towards Shadie's side. I was never a fan of characters that have a "I will never acknowledge you, but I'll dislike you more if you fall for anyone else" type of personality. So Sonica never fell in my favor to begin with. Plus. the genderbent characters don't always have to go with same pairing as the original characters, right

I completely agree...the fact that Sonica waited until someone else, especially her rival Shadie took interest in Jamey to actually start giving a damn about him after everything Jamey did for Sonica...if Sonica wanted to be like that with Jamey then she should have no problem with Jamey being with Shadie, what makes us think Sonica would treat Jamey right, he loves her so much but she always treated him so poorly by saying stuff like this is weird, it's awkward being alone together etch when all Jamey wanted to do was to take care of Sonica and take her out on a date but she kept acting like it was the end of the world and soon as Shadie wants to then Sonica goes nuts and gets really angry at her and Jamey for that which just isn't fair for Jamey, much the same way Amy was only ever being sweet to Sonic yet he treated her not so well, it's a shame that Shadow isn't trying to show her more affection that she isn't getting from Sonic

Wow. I remember when Shadie first started dating Jamey, I thought she was working with Rogue or had gotten the idea to date Jamey to make Sonica jealous and get Sonica to date Jamey. Just like when Amy took Rogue to a beach that Sonic frequented to have a pretend date to make Sonic jealous enough to date Amy. I don't know what Jamey could do here. I was hoping him and Rogue could talk and figure things out better than talking with Amy, but I suppose not. The way Shadie seems to be happy making Sonica upset does seem suspicious though.
