As a 19-year-old I remember riding the Gaspé on my 1978 CB750F2 with a friend of mine who had a 1975 CB400 Four Super Sport. At one point we were so cold that my hands frozen. When we stopped for gas and it came time to pay. I had to ask The station attendant to unzip my chest pocket, pull my wallet out and take the money out to pay. Brings back memories! 👍🏻
Ouffff, vous avez été très courageux pour cette première journée de pluie! ☔️ J’ai hâte de voir la suite du voyage! Marc, 61 ans et habite Trois-Rivières depuis toujours. Je ride avec un GS 1250. 😉🏍️
I rode from Ile Perrot to the Maritimes last year, got more than a few days of rain. This video gave me flashbacks...reminds me of the feeling of the cold water slowly seeping through the rain gear, eventually being completely soaked. I was miserable the whole time, but still glad I was on the road. Better than sitting at home.
Yeah that's exactly the feeling. In the moment it's not so great but after you think of it with a smile and happy to have gone out and done something adventurous.
Absolutely insane weather! The Saguenay and Gaspe regions of Quebec are stunning, we’ve been there a few times by car and hope to get there by bike soon.
Ive been in rain like this guy's basically a storm from Florida to Georgia with a small group. No more risking my wife's life. I do still ride in good weather day time.😊😊
Glad your video popped up. Just subscribed. I was really into adventure bikes until I recently converted to a Can-Am Spyder. My last bike was a KTM 890 Adventure, but I was really intrigued by the Tuareg when they came out. I remember being intrigued by the Aprilia Caponorde back twenty or so years ago.
Thanks for subscribing 🙂 My brothers and I rented Spyders a few years ago and did a ride with our wives. It was a cool experience. So far I love the Tuareg but don't know the Caponorde, I'll look it up. Cheers!
Nice start to your video series, so I'm looking forward to following along. I've ridden in days of rain similar to yours. Perhaps consider a pair of Aerostich Triple Digit Glove Covers. They're a bit awkward to use at first, but you get used to them and most importantly, they work like a charm.
@@markboudette8380 thanks 😊 I do have a cheap pair of glove covers but find they don’t work well and awkward but those Aerostich models look very good. 👍🏻
On a trip or if expecting rain on a ride I take three pairs of gloves and swap them once the pair I'm wearing get too wet Another thing when ever I stop somewhere I place the gloves I'm wearing on the warm engine, warm wet gloves are better than cold wet gloves even if they're only warm for a short time I also have rubber overboots I've only seen two other pairs here in Australia, I got these ones my second pair off the net from England they are rubber like a tyre inner tube that keep your boots perfectly dry giving you a major advantage over all the mates with cold wet feet
Good idea placing the gloves on the engine! I also have boot covers but they’re kinda cheap but helped a lot that trip. Riding in Australia is on my bucket list. Looks so amazing. 🤩
@MyMotoJourney Plenty of good places to ride here I've given up on finding waterproof leather gloves and if you use those synthetic over gloves they allow the throttle to slip and it's fatiguing having to get another grip every minute or so And you want long gauntlets that cover the cuffs of your coat even once they get wet they'll prevent water from traveling up your sleeves Another excellent thing to beat rain are regular yellow vinyl plastic pants instead of your average rain proof motorcycle pants, and you want a really large oversized pair that will be easy to pull over the rest of your gear The trick is finding good ones without porous holes in the seams at the crutch, the way to test them as weird as it might sound is to suck on the crutch to check for any air leaks Even good quality new pairs straight out of the packet can have leaks so I look for them in secondhand stores where I suppose I must look like a deviate testing them but once you find good ones there's nothing better for keeping you dry
Good video , shit weather ...... I drove my Ryker with my Harley buddy , same route but we had good weather ... our destination was not as far was , was les eboulement and we rode a day in that area. Since the bikes are away , I will follow your rides ( and older ones) ps from the west island. Alain & Yellow ( my ryker)
On the way to Munich we came into heavy rain - the cars stopped with warning lights on the right - left lane was free. The XT 1200Z with full luggage and girl behind me and I said: "I am the Michael Schumacher on two wheels and we went with over 200km/h south. How long do you ride? Is it a hobby? 🙂
lol nice 👍🏻 I’m an F1 fan so I like the Schumacher reference. I’ve been riding more than 10 years and it’s a passion hobby. Looking forward to the spring so we can ride again. Cheers 🍻
I don't remember slipping that time but we were going slow. I know what you mean though. There's a metal brdige close to my home and even with my 50/50 tires I feel the bike slipping around.
Loving this! Have spent a lot of time out that way. Now that I ride, I'd like to do a tour like yours. Well done!
thanks

😆 oui La premiere journée était mémorable méton 😆
C'est un beau voyage à moto. La pluie est presque inévitable quand on va en Gaspésie. Always interesting to frapper la rue -- hit the road -- à moto !
😝 oui. Je suis content que tu as entendu ça! Pour la pluie, une journée de marde suivie par 5 jours incroyables alors it’s all good 👍🏻

Crazy day for sure, glad the weather was much better the rest of the trip.
Just found you and subbed! Now I have to binge watch, good stuff, love Canada!

I understand. The moment I show in the video and talk about how fed up we were was the worst with visibility really low. Was kind of dangerous.

yeah for sure. I'm planning on installing heated grips over the winter to be ready for the spring.
Really happy I found for your video
Glad you enjoyed the video :-)

That metal bridge is not fun if you have road tires you feel like you re going to slip. There s one in Grondine if my memory is good.

Did you rent your Touareg?
Hey there, no I own it. It's a 2022 model. My buddy Michel also own his.
Now that I’m retired, I don’t ride in the rain anymore. There just isn’t anyplace I have to be.
Enjoy your retirement 🙂
