Ron, your live sessions are great. I wish they were available about 11 months ago when I was struggling getting my radio / hot spot up and running. This vide sums it up in a very usable format. I’m watching all of them so keep them coming. The live sessions even as recorded include the “glitches” you run into and really make them comfortable knowing these things happen to all of us. Thanks again.

DEAN FROM ABILENE; 67 year old expired ham, (renewing now!). Spent my life working as a public safety/commercial 2-way radio bench and field tech performing component level repairs, programming, erecting and climbing towers, maintaining repeaters, microwave, SCADA telemetry, law enforcement/public safety, oil industry, etc. Worked for Motorola, Nextel/Sprint, Southwestern Bell, 4 years civilian contractor in Iraq, 14 years owning an electronics sales/installation & repair facility. THAT is my introduction of myself.
Am right now about to renew my amateur license, already have a Kenwood TS-440SAT, three mobile vhf/uhf mobiles, 2 uhf/vhf ht's. Not to mention a shop full of antennas, hardline, coax, connectors, test equipment, etc, so I am hoping to spend a lot of my time in my retirement years hamming it up and learning these new technologies.
I started in the days of tubes, but have stayed pretty current, but don't know much about DMR and Raspberry PI, so I'm looking forward to learning from you.

I watched several videos on how to connect my radio to the hotspot that I bought off Amazon and all the videos left out the part where you create the talk groups in the software to write to the radio. I was finally able to get the DMR to work! I've had the radio for almost a year and haven't been able to use it.

446.525 is a repeater output. A better choice would have been 439.125 mhz all mode repeater input channels

Can I still talk on my local/ state DMR channels through a hotspot? My house sits in a low spot and I have a tough time hitting the local repeater.

Okay, great set up. I followed all the way up to the PARROT test. My PI see me and logs me. My voice does not come back. It is like I am on mute but I am not I test the radio. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you have a password set up in Brandmeister. Also, make sure the Parrot group is a private call.

@@BridgeComSystemsInc I figured out if I use the US servers it does not work. (1302, 1304) When I switch to Canada server it works fine.
