Ive seen loads of video reviews for this watch so I can check out the functions before I buy. This particular video has many qualities that reviewers with a far higher number of subscribers produce. Well done. Great video.
Thank you! I’m glad it provided you some information that could help your decision. Good luck and hope whatever you end up with meets your expectations!
Awesome review. I recently purchased the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar, and it's a BEAST compared to the G Shock Mudmaster ggb100 I had. I work in the security industry and the Fenix is what I was looking for. I spend the time I have off hiking for a week here and there and can not express how technically advanced the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar is. Thanks again for the review
Thanks for the comment and watching! I’m on board with you, whether it’s a military application or out on the trail it’s packed with quite a few features that makes life a lot easier. Hope you continue to enjoy it as much as I do!
Yep! You can connect your Garmin and Strava accounts together. I have not personally used this function, however I know someone at work that uses both the Garmin and Strava app to complement each other with various types of data. Garmin will export data to Strava once your workout is complete and you sync the watch. Make sure the information you sync from Garmin is accurate (edit before sync if needed) before it goes to Strava because it may be difficult to change later. I found this good article on Wearable that describes how to link the accounts: www.wareable.com/garmin/how-to-connect-garmin-and-strava I am not sure about Wahoo cross functionality with Garmin and have not seen any mention of it in my research. Hope that helps!
Agreed, It is expensive…. Given how much I use all the features I found I have got my moneys worth in the first couple months alone… the instinct 2 is a great budget option too, with just a few less of the premium features at a fraction of the cost. Other it’s worth saving up for if you will use all the features. thanks for watching!
The only way I can tell to clear all notifications at once is to clear them on your phone. Otherwise it looks like you are stuck going one by one if your phone isn’t available… seems like a great feature they could add as a button function during a notification.
It is actually one of the stock faces that came with the watch… I don’t think I loaded anything custom from the garmin app. Looks like it is the sixth one down on my options. I did edit the layout and colors by selecting the center right button while selecting the face. This is still my primary layout but I do change the colors from time to time just to mix it up
Hey, thanks for watching! Measurement is 6 7/8 inch circumference. Most bigger watches generally look oversized for me but this 51mm is right at the limit. Normally I would have gone with just the 7 (47mm) (like the 6 in the review) but the 7X had the extra battery life, screen size, flashlight and didn’t look bad at all. This is my daily wear. I picked up the black bezel rather than the carbon gray so it looks a little nicer with even a business casual wear. Hope that helps let me know if you have any other questions!
@@TheOutdoorWorkshop thanks! My wrist Are 165 mm so maybe the 7x is to big ;( But i want it so bad Haha The 7x looks good on your wrist, and the black is so cool!!!
@@remybakken3019 Its always worth a shot to try on if you can find it in a store or somewhere that has free returns! It sounds like you are only a few mm off by my quick conversion, so there's hope... If not the standard 7 looks great as well and the size should be no problem... you still end up with the awesome touch screen and great battery life! I appreciate it!
@@TheOutdoorWorkshop I'm using Venu 2 plus and incredibly content with the watch, getting 12 days of battery life. However, it looks a little small on me, my wrist size 19 cm. Probably Fenix 7x will suit better on me, used Fenix 6X Pro in the past but it's heavier and bulkier. I wish Garmin would make XL version of other lifestyle models such as Venu 2 XL or Vivoactive 5 XL.
I have not noticed any problems with compatibility with my iPhone 12 mini. The sync functions for maps, courses, and workouts between the Garmin Connect app and the watch have been instant and seamless. I also get all the notifications in real time from the iPhone, from phone call alerts, to text messages, and even different app notifications from other companies (like RobinHood stock alerts) that are separate from Garmin environemnt push through to the 7X. I have been wearing it nearly everyday since I picked it up and couldn't be happier.... also even with all these alerts I still seem to get the expected 28 day battery life. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Is your 7x a Carbon Gray DLC or a Black one? Thnx. And yeah the sapphire is not only reflective as hell, it's less transparent actually. 27% less as far as I know. That's why I still can't choose between 6x pro and 7x.
This is the black 7X. It was harder to find than the gray in the early days but seems to be more available now. Yeah totally agree about the reflective as compared to 6x pro and that was really the only major concern I had when I initially picked it up and compared side by side… but I have to tell you after wearing it everyday I rarely look down and struggle with the view. I’m sure if I looked at the six again that feeling would come back just for the time that they are side by side but the features and charging are enough to offset that concern in the moment. Can’t say I have though about that on the 7x since that last time they were side by side. Thanks for watching!
@@TheOutdoorWorkshop Many thanks for your reply! The Black DLC really catches the eye in a positive way, love it! And the fact that you finally got used to the sapphire to such a degree where its downsides became almost unnoticeable really gives me certain hope, thanks!
Wont consider this watch as a backup tool because of the battery life limitations, with it’s price category expectations should be high when it comes to outdoor use
Thanks for the reply! Ive been pretty impressed with its ability to last normally about 26 days before it gets low enough that I plug it in to be safe, obviously much better then the Apple Watch battery life that was previously my day-to-day. The instinct does outmatch the battery life compared to the Fenix in low power mode, but if it was coming down needing to spare battery life the low-power mode combined with solar charging should add a nice bump to the battery life expectations before charging. I guess in the end just depend what you're looking to get out of it. The price point is certainly high and if it doesn't meet your exact needs there are probably better options out there, especially starting at this price point and going down. Good luck in the search if your looking!
One of the most detailed reviews about this watch I've seen, thanks alot! 🤙🏻
Thank you, appreciate the feedback!
@@TheOutdoorWorkshop- You're welcome, I just ordered the 7x.
Congrats! Very detailed review, one of the best ever for this 7X Sapphire Solar!
thank you, i appreciate you checking it out!

Awesome… Hope you enjoy as much as I still do everyday! Thanks for watching!

Went with the 7 x. For hiking running lifting and every day use. Thanks for the video.
Same on all, everyday…. haven’t found anything that beats out the capabilities yet. Thanks for watching!
Agree with what everyone else is saying, best video of the watch I’ve seen. I’m sold!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Coolest video on this watch period.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great in depth video! Well done thanks!

Thanks Man. I will pick this up in a few weeks
Absolutely, thanks for watching. Still love it as my everyday wear to this day
how bout sending completed work outs to strava or wahoo fitness apps?….does it have that capability? Thx

Is there a way to delete all notifications at once? I delete them one by one.

Whata your wirst size in cm?
What is the colour of dial bro....grey or black? Because it comes in Grey DLC dial and Black DLC dial...
This one is the black. It was harder to find than grey when I bought it, but i think its more available now!

Huh? The battery life is like the #1 selling point- lasts a month on a single charge. SMH
