I’m 81 and listened to the music from an earlier time but I sure remember the songs of the Cowsill’s and the others. Those were songs you could relate to and love.
When you are eternally young inside, age is but a number. This concert was so much fun. You did a wonderful job of recording it. Many thanks❤️🤍💙👍🏼🙏

He used to perform in a bar every week in Woodland Hills, California called the Pickwick Pub. It became the hip thing to do-- go watch him play and the place was always packed with huge overcrowding of young people standing shoulder to shoulder throughout-- you couldn't move. A fire marshall's nightmare. He had a huge fishbowl for tip jar and passed it around. People put money in for every song he sang. People would yell out requests and he would play whatever was screamed the loudest... I have no idea how he knew how to play each song he heard and play it and sing it well? How did he know all the lyrics? People would always scream for him to play American Pie, but he'd refuse unless somebody put in a $20! The world has changed and doesn't seem quite as fun.
The classic 1V the Vouges could barely hear the vocals. Gary Pucket lost his voice...one of the original turtles Howard Kaylan wasn't there..the Cowsills to me stole the night with their harmonies. Wish they played more
Over the top and overflowing. My wife and I are celebrating our 43rd anniversary today. I seached for Happy Together by The Turtles and clicked on this instead. Karen immediately remembered The Cowsills. Hey, I'll be 70 on Sunday and totally agree that it's just number. Psalm 91 and 103. John 10:10

I wish I could have heard more from Gary Puckett. Great singer. It was sad though seeing Mark Volman of The Turtles. I saw his hand shaking as he held the microphone. I just read that in June 2023, he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. Prayers to Mark Volman🙏
I've been in love with Susan Cowsill for 50 years, she's still just as beautiful as when I first saw her. So glad that they are still performing with the same youthful energy.
I don't know if this song qualifies as California "Sunshine Pop," but my two older sisters played all these singles nonstop from '64 to '69-- "Lazy Day, Georgy Girl, Pretty Ballerina, Windy, Aquarius, Stone Soul Picnic, Sugar, Sugar, 98.6, I Saw Her Again," etc. My sisters' rabid obsession with British Invasion bands and their record parties with their friends was a huge influence on me growing up;.
The Classics IV?! I'd forgotten all about them!! That sax player's still got it!! While The Cowsills never disappoint, I think Gary Puckett and Little Anthony have more than earned a nice quiet retirement. Anyway, all of those songs took me back to a nicer time growing up in the (then) beautiful San Fernando Valley. My folks were young, beautiful, and still very much with us.
Saw this concert in New Buffalo, Michigan, this summer. Not only knew all the words, but I kept wiping tears from my eyes. It took me back to a simpler time and place. Was blessed to grow up in an age of innocense.
They are simply amazing and just ageless! They've brought so much happiness, and pure joy, to so many over these many decades, and one can't help but smile, sometimes through nostalgic tears, at the wonderfully sweet memories they evoke every time they perform these iconic, incomparable hits. I'm so hoping that John, if the Beach Boys will allow him, to someday join them for a couple of shows. I was just crazy for both him, and Barry (who is truly missed), as a young teen back in the day. Can we please get these guys into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already?!!
I attended the concert on August 3rd in Rochester NY and all I can say is that I am so happy to have lived in the 60’s. What a great night of some great music, Little Anthony at 82 was great. My thoughts go out to Mark Volman of the Turtles. Hope he will get better. Hope to see the Happy Together Tour next year.
The song's name is "The Rain, the Park, and other things." I'm wondering why they didn't title it "The Flower Girl." I have no doubt that record stores all across the country had to tell this to people who came in asking for the song "the Flower Girl."
@@maryk446 It was, in fact, originally called "The Flower Girl." An MGM executive made them change the title, fearing that listeners would confuse it with another hit of the time, Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)."

How many of you poor saps like me had a crush on your sisters best friend. Yeah, finally got to slow dance with her at the roller rink (they had live bands too) when it hit me she was two years older and three inches taller than I was. lol. Thanks Sherri.
@622kck The Partridge Family Was supposed to be these guys. They said no, If their mom Couldn't be their mom on the show they would pass. I guess Shirley was the whole reason for the show.
Saw Happy Together Tour 2014-15 at Pacific Amphitheater CA. Sat in row 9 dead center. It was amazing! My adult daughters were with me. We all had a great time. Mark Farner, Hermits Hermits, 3 Dog Night, Turtles, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Detroit City, 2 other bands. FUN!! I LOVE 60s Music. ❤️🎵🎶🎹 Cowsill sounds great!! I had No idea they were siblings. 🎶❤️
If there has ever been a band that epitomized a golden era of American music, it's the Cowsills. I'm glad that some of them are still with us and out on the road!
In the summer of 1968, some neighborhood kids and I put on a show to raise money for the local EMS squad. Me and a girl, Carrie, did a skit to "I Love the Flower Girl" with a kiss at the end. The first girl I ever kissed. LOL. That's what I think of every time I hear that song!
Great fun watching this. Great to see so many happy comments. Being part of the tour for the last four years I can tell you that we truly are all, Happy Together!
Good Music Doesn't Have an Expiration Date. In one of his songs, Tom Petty sings "I don't know but I've been told, you never slow down, you never grow old." ☮n' ♥ yall...
Man, this is vocal and musical talent nonpareil. The mid-late 60s produced some of the greatest music in the rock and roll canon. What's more: it was a lot of fun to listen to...and still is!
The Cowsills and Little Anthony were great. Gary Puckett was under the weather, but he gave it his best. The Vogues and Classic IV don't have one original member, so basically a tribute band. The Turtles are not the same without Howard Kaylan. Ron Dante is enjoyable on his own when he sings his hits from the Archies and the Cufflinks.
@@jeffplachinski2083 I believe Chuck Blasko is still touring with his own version of the band and Hugh Geyer has retired. They are the only surviving members of the original band since the passing of Bill Burkette and Don Miller.
The enthusiasm of this show was so palpable. They all astonished me with how good they still sound ! A freakin' amazing ! And, I will add, they didn't need any studio enhancements. Pure music !
Nicely videod with a great angle & sound. Wish they'd come over the Pond & do a tour. In the 90s there was a show in UK & it was Manfred Mann, guests Colin Bluntstone (Zombies), Chris Farlowe & Alan Price. Great night. Saw Brian Wilson in another show. Superb.
I worked at night at the Clairemont bowl in San Diego in 1971 when Gary Puckett and the Union Gap were playing in the Quad room there at night before they made it big. My mother knew him.
Our generation showing how music is done!!!! And how not to be old but gracefully embrace the youth in our hearts. And still perform!!!F#cking amazing performances 👍🎼🎶🎸☮️📻💓
Cowsills, Ron Dante, and especially Anthony Gourdine (82 years old!), were all great. Having groups with no original members (Vogues, Classics IV), and the Turtles without Howard, seems a bit of a cheat, though. Also, the Cowsills do "Hair" with the original verse from the Broadway show that wasn't on their single version because it was (understandably) deemed too controversial. Good for them!
I was at this concert. It wasn't until I came home that I read this on Wikipedia In June of 2023, Mark Volman disclosed that he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.
@@Bowruss Ya, sad. At the July concert Mark was messing up while introducing the band members. I thought it was an act, especially when one of the other musicians said, “Can we get someone else to do this ?” You could see through the entire Turtles performance that the dude from the Archies was carrying Mark through the set.

Thanks for your war service! So glad you made it back!! 👌🙏👏
Every video of them Paul is an inspiration. His spirit jumping motivating the whole place. I love this ban. And paul is older than me jumping ,dancing, motivating. Justa amazing. They make me yooung again everytime I watch. Just love it. Thanks for posting.✌️👍☮️❤️🎹🎶💖👍
Those of us from back in the day had the music EVER!! AND will last FOREVER! Thanks Cowsills for keeping the memories alive!!! The Vogues!! Awesome!
No offense to Mark Volman, but it's not The Turtles without Howard Kaylan.
Saw a tour featuring many acts, Paul Revere, Turtles etc...by far the Cowsills were the best act there.
Susan has such a great voice, Paul is so entertaining , Bob is a great guitarist and singer. Too bad John doesn't rejoin his family now that he left the Beach Boys. My God little Anthony sounds AWESOME.
Where's Shirley Jones??!!!!
Oh wait....
Wrong band.
Sorry.
:)
I was there for this show. Excellent! And I'm going to this summer's show too!
That's a lot of music history up on that stage! Thanks for sharing this; I really enjoyed it!!
How many of you poor saps like me had a crush on your sisters best friend. Yeah, finally got to slow dance with her at the roller rink (they had live bands too) when it hit me she was two years older and three inches taller than I was. lol. Thanks Sherri.
Wonderful show - all the groups were great. But, I've gotta say, The Cowsills were astonishing. It's as if the '60s never ended!
Cowsills still killing it… Bravo, bravo bravo
Happy memories to when i was young, carefree, dreamer, teen ager, no problems . I wish im young again❤
I'm grateful I'm not the only old timer on here who likes the Cowsills they still sound great
@622kck The Partridge Family Was supposed to be these guys. They said no, If their mom Couldn't be their mom on the show they would pass. I guess Shirley was the whole reason for the show.
A lot of these songs stuck in my head as I paddled out on my surfboard--what a time!
Cowsill sounds great!! I had No idea they were siblings. 🎶❤️
If there has ever been a band that epitomized a golden era of American music, it's the Cowsills. I'm glad that some of them are still with us and out on the road!
Thank you for sharing your music with all of us ! It’s more magical than you imagine! God bless you guys. A fan forever ❤
❤❤❤
In the summer of 1968, some neighborhood kids and I put on a show to raise money for the local EMS squad. Me and a girl, Carrie, did a skit to "I Love the Flower Girl" with a kiss at the end. The first girl I ever kissed. LOL. That's what I think of every time I hear that song!
❤❤❤
The Classics 4 songs amazing , vocals , sax, and music
They still sound great after all these years.....terrific memories 🎶🎶
❤❤❤
Sensational. All these songs for eternity still performed by the same people who excited us in the 60s.
Great fun watching this. Great to see so many happy comments. Being part of the tour for the last four years I can tell you that we truly are all, Happy Together!
They are so awesome and the vocals are sooo good ! I wish I could play guitar like Bob, he still got it at 73. The others are awesome !
Good Music Doesn't Have an Expiration Date. In one of his songs, Tom Petty sings "I don't know but I've been told, you never slow down, you never grow old." ☮n' ♥ yall...
Cowsills said Charleston was your favorite place!!! no problem. I forgive you, as a fellow Rhode Islander.
Man, this is vocal and musical talent nonpareil. The mid-late 60s produced some of the greatest music in the rock and roll canon. What's more: it was a lot of fun to listen to...and still is!
Something about a sibling harmony. The Cowsills sound great.
❤❤
Born in 66', but "The Rain, the Park and Other Things" is probably one of the earliest songs I remember as a child. Ah man...outstanding performers! ❤
❤❤❤
The Cowsills and Little Anthony were great. Gary Puckett was under the weather, but he gave it his best. The Vogues and Classic IV don't have one original member, so basically a tribute band. The Turtles are not the same without Howard Kaylan. Ron Dante is enjoyable on his own when he sings his hits from the Archies and the Cufflinks.
I thought 2 of THE VOGUES were originals 🤔😐
@@jeffplachinski2083 I believe Chuck Blasko is still touring with his own version of the band and Hugh Geyer has retired. They are the only surviving members of the original band since the passing of Bill Burkette and Don Miller.
Who are the members of the VOGUES now ??? I know STEVENS , but I thought the other 2 were originals. 🤔
@@jeffplachinski2083 Troy Elich, Royce Taylor, and Shawn Stevens who replaced Bo Wagner.
@@DennisMcLaughlin-h1g Aren't Troy and Royce originals ???
Susan looks amazing for 64
Our generation showing how music is done!!!!
I'm a huge fan of Gary Puckett but his voice is gone. So sad.
Agree, but he's gonna be 81 in October. It's gotta be hard to hit those high notes.
There’s something to be said about knowing when to retire!
The Cowsills:Happy,Fun, and Genuine Entertainment filled with timeless love! Thank you for sharing!!❤
The Turtles -- God bless Mark Volman and Ron Dante is a hero!
Always appreciate good music with wonderful artists!
I was at this concert. It wasn't until I came home that I read this on Wikipedia
In June of 2023, Mark Volman disclosed that he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.
What? Damn..... We love you Mark Volman
@@Bowruss Ya, sad. At the July concert Mark was messing up while introducing the band members. I thought it was an act, especially when one of the other musicians said, “Can we get someone else to do this ?”
You could see through the entire Turtles performance that the dude from the Archies was carrying Mark through the set.
@@michaelterry1000 I really appreciate your comments my friend. I did read the People magazine article referenced on Mark's Wikipedia page. I guess it's better we all know what's really going on instead of there being ridiculous speculation. Besides his talent Mark is a lovely human being, and I know he is facing this as truly just the next chapter in his life. I'll say again, We Love You Mark Volman! And to you my friend I wish you peace love health and tranquility! From Glenn
@@Bowruss That was nice. I wish Mark the best also.
When I was thirteen, the Cowsills were my favorite band. I'm sixty-nine now, and I still love them. I guess this would be soft-rock.
I was born In 1984 I love the 50s 60s and 80s
I loved their music back in the day. I have somewhat mixed feelings about this..., but I still love their songs. Grew up with their music.
I love all these oldies, but it was so sad that the sound system sucked so terribly. I don’t care if some of acts couldn’t stay intone or not. It was just great to see & hear these tones that meant so much in the day. ❤🥲
❤❤❤
Wow so many wonderful memories flood back to us Baby Boomers listening to these songs on our AM only car radios and 8 track players from back in the days. Thanks for sharing this video, God Bless...
Sorry, but The Turtles are just not the same without Howard Kaylan.
Seen this tour twice not in several years tho i hope they will keep having it for many more years i agree that i wish there were some groups with more original members when possible but they do a great job with happy together tour and means a lot especially as a younger fan that these guys are out here performing after all these years puckett cowsills little Anthony of course ron and mark is giving it his all still cant forget vogues and classics even tho no original members keep the music alive..
Hi Susan, We have the Same Birthday.
My wife loves the Cowsills and I think they're pretty great, too. A few years ago, they performed at Epcot Center, and we saw them. After the show, they sat with my wife for several minutes, talking. No crowds, just showing them our appreciation, and they appreciated us right back. Such great music!
That's fantastic. I wish I could've been there to join in the conversation... And give Susan a hug too. 😊
OMG!! I’m blown away!! Yes, take me back to the 60’s!! I close my eyes and they sound exactly the same!! Thank you for taking me back!!
I love you Susan Cowsill
I provide Susan with green nuggets when she visits and plays in New Jersey. Dont worry its legal here 💚
I'm just one year older than Susan Cowsill, so yes - I had a CRUSH on her in 1967! This entire vid invokes treasured memories of my youth to teen period.
I just love all these performers. Takes me back to my youth . Love the Cowsill's...:-)
My lord, this is when music was king!! Imagine these guys at this age sounding like they do!! So proud of my generation!!! Silver Power!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Saw the show last night , much better in-person . Definitely go , you won’t be sorry , great experience and feel fortunate to have seen all these legends still performing
❤❤❤
I’m 64 and I’ve been wanting to go to one of these shows. Probably too late for 23 but good LORD willing 24 will be the year I can go. ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been wanting to go for years.
Why do I remember all the words to these songs?? Oh, ya, cuz I’m 72!! 🤦🏻♀️🤣No music compares to the ‘60’s music. I like to sing really loud to these songs😂 when I’m alone. 😊😊🎉🎶🤭🥰 wish u were all there with me! Spooky huh?? So fun!
I’d go back to then in a minute!
WTF about the Turtles performance. Where is Eddie? Flo's voice is shot. Sounds like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr's.
