JM, do you know Dennis Roger’s? He was a champion arm wrestler for years and later probably the most successful performing strongman. He is a big proponent of table curls.
Some excellent information here JM. I hadn't considered doing these with such a horizontal angle, but it does make a lot of sense when you're trying to hit that stretch at the bottom hard.
Hi JM, first off, I wanted to thank you for your content, its been very valuable to me as I work towards my strength goals. I was curious if you had any old footage of from your earlier days you might consider uploading to your channel? I was not able to find very much on UA-cam myself. Thanks again.
The JMB preacher curl bench , I see an opportunity. Wonder if my gym would let me chop up theirs, and re-fabricate it into one with adjustable positions 🤣
Hello Mr . Jm if there's one thing i hope you can cover it's growing or "focusing on the forearm muscules ." I can grab and slightly lift 50lbs but my forearms are massively underdeveloped.
I've done something like this on a flat bench kneeling with light weights. You can really feel the tendon and the big stretch. Maybe I wasn't wrong. Maybe i'll try these again
Hey JM I heard you talking on the elitefts podcast about the 6x6 for bench press, I was wondering do I have to do just regular bench press for 6x6 or could I do something like the floor press with chains for 6x6 Would that still work?
Anthony, you can send me a friend request on Facebook at : Johnmark Blakley. Then I can use the messenger app to do video coaching. You van also send me texts there
I’ve seen videos of people tearing their biceps by doing Preacher curls, so this seems like you are risking an injury in order to prevent the same injury in another exercise. Also, I’ve read that a muscle fiber contracts across its entire length, so I’m not sure that you can specifically build up the part of the bicep near the elbow. I’m not sure if that applies to tendons though. I’d be interested in seeing any studies on training tendons in this manner.
I'm not certain about the building of fusiform muscle at the ends of it's length either because there is zero scientific lit about it. But, that said, I have endeavored to do just that and kept copious records of the process over years. I have no doubt about it. What makes good sense to do in your case is to apply it for yourself and assess. As for the injury proclivity that you've seen in preacher curls, I have not. Ever. But I avoid that by proper spotting as clearly demonstrated in the video. I've seen injuries in the gym. I've just never had any nor have any of my clients. That is either dumb luck or good form. I'm not sure.
boggles my mind how JM doesnt have a million subscribers already.. absolute genuis and so eloquent

How about the triceps tendon? Floor presses (as you demonstrate in another video)?
