Is this car the proof for not upgrading to metal parts? If this took that much punishment with nearly all plastic parts it shows having flex really helps with durability. Amazing content as always and great music!

    • @JohnRobinsonRC

This was the first rc car I bought. I have bashed the hell out of it and still nothing has broken. I have put oil shocks on it which has improved the handling over the ruff ground. I have also fitted it with a 25 turn 550 motor. Soon I will be locking the rear diff and stiffening the front dif so it will climb better at slower speeds.

@@JohnRobinsonRC There are two ends of the spectrum, make your car as tough and strong as possible with a ton of stronger parts, so you end up with a basher like an upgraded Arrma Kraton. On the other end, you have things liek the Wltoys 12427, which is pretty lightweight, and very flexible. The latter option is the cheaper one, but effectivness depends on the person!

@@JohnRobinsonRC that may be an accidental result of what some rc'ists do which is 'running in' or 'breaking in' brushed motors. Although you can break them in dry, the best way is to actually break them in under water, i've broken in a brushed motor in a mug of water at 30-50% throttle using a cable tie fastened to spec, run 2 battery cycles like this and you'll find the performance heaps ahead, throttle response is sharper, crawling is improved as theres less jerking etc, overall its technically what you should be doing to a brushed motor. But for the cheapo brushed motors we dont really do it. Really helps with the tamiya torque tuned motors

Well again I can't answer 100% as two of them I don't own. As you know if I don't own it I don't recommend it. If I could only afford a 12427 then I would buy that and be very happy. VERY HAPPY. IF i could afford the EAT04 then again for the same reason. Both haven't failed on me. Both need oil shocks.
