I agree with Mark about the Carrot school being worth every penny. I have never been shy about investing in my own poker education, and I have never encountered a course that is as comprehensive, deliberate and professional. If you aren’t constantly pausing to note take and process the information being presented you aren’t paying enough attention in this course.
Breaking the circuit when I approach autopilot is what I'm working on now. I keep my hand off the mouse, riffle chips, set session timers, and always have a part of my game that I'm consciously working on. I can hear Pete in my head when I play. When that stops, I stop.
Well done, Mark! I look forward to watching the improvement continue. I second Mark's endorsement of Carrot Poker School. My graph looked like Mark's before CPS Grade 1 and now looks like his updated graph after finishing Grade 1 and starting Grade 2. Thank you, Pete!
Mark is playing WAY better at this point. I do think it is funny how strong his theory is compared to his much weaker explotative ability. That is probably better than being the other way around, and being oblivious to theory.
My experience of auto piloting purely comes from playing too many tables. Not having the mental capacity to solve 4 spots at once just turns into not solving any and just pressing buttons. Less tables definitely helps.
Usually don't value raise rivers with one pair unless you're pretty sure villain has a worse pair and this isn't that board and there are two villains who could have 2p+
on the 43cc hand, while Mark's river check may have been a blunder in general, it seems in this case it was the right play as villian spaz shoves his T7o and gets snapped off. I think if Mark shoved, villian would have (most likely) folded, costing Mark the ~19BB
Love the detailed content. Also think that when you lost 17 k on 50nl its not a bad idea to go temporary to a lower stakes instead to 100nl. But if the money loss does not matter top much its of course ok. Ouch after watching this session.... Seems mark has an off week. Come on mark you can do it
The last hand was very interesting. I play microstakes for fun with a few beers maybe once a week. I think in situations like this with the Aces I often reraise. It could be autopilot but I think it's also a bit of ego...in like you bet me half pot on the river you idiot....I've got As take that.....and then I lose the pot to two pair or a set😆

I think mark need time to master a lot of this new stuff for him , learn a lot and play less tabling can be the way!
