Weathering powders and decal fix Mix nicely and make a strong pigment like paint The best way to explain this is the Humbrol video as I’ve added here - this will answer in demonstrated way ua-cam.com/video/Rmgx2IijrCk/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/TFGofuW_6aE/v-deo.html This should help 👍
Lol - I know what you mean. I either do it out the way or an old towel catches dust particles which slightly helps keeping the cat from looking weathered. 😉 Thanks buddy Garry

Great weathering Garry, the finished effect is great.
Michael
Thanks Michael just a fun quickie 😉👍
Easy peasy weathering! Goes to show that you can make a plastic toy look more real with simple techniques.
Keep them rolling 😁
Cheers Tim - not a scratch to your amazing abilities 😉
Top tip.
Don't buy expensive powders.
A tray of artists pastels will give you more colours to work with at a fraction of the cost.
Cheers James and a great tip 👍
I too use chalk pastels dose exactly the same job
However I’ve used up all my black and light brown 😆
One for the Christmas list 👍
Hope to see you at warley 👍
All the best buddy

It’s real easy and if all fails wiping off will leave very subtle effects too so it’s a winner either way 👍😉

All the best Alex
Alex I’m still learning lol but the best way that I learn is by having a go and if all fails it’s only a little wagon that can be repainted etc..

Hi buddy
The train room is 12x8 feet round the edge of the room giving me a big space to work in..
Cheers
Simple but very effective ......Peter
Thanks Peter😉
Just one question Garry , what exactly does the Decalfix do to the weathering powder ?
........Peter

I was planning this to a 2 min project but bottled out as I found out that it needs about 5 mins - 😉👍
Great results in very little time Garry. Hmm, what can I get you to do in another 5 minute challenge? 🤔
Paul
Paul you sound like my wife giving me 5 min Challenges 😂
Mainly housework /washing up - mind 😏
Thanks buddy 👍
When I use powders they seem to find their way all over the kitchen, my clothes and the cat!
Lol - I know what you mean.
I either do it out the way or an old towel catches dust particles which slightly helps keeping the cat from looking weathered. 😉
