thank you for the games- i was the doomsday opponent. my questionable G2 keep was doomsday, double ritual, double discard, ponder. i die to chalice 1, but you may have 8 forces, some flusters, plus rebuke. the hand is good against countermagic if i find any of 19 black sources, and if i keep mulliganing for t1 i lose to any of all those forces. again, questionable, but maybe defensible?
That's really just the squeeze that makes blue stompy decks so good - a lot of the hands that are good against Force of Will are bad against Chalice on 1 and vice-versa.
I’ve been playing this exact list at my local game store for 2 weeks, coming from standard and explorer on arena legacy is almost like a different game 😅 glad to see someone competent play the deck so I can learn something.

"Wizard templates these like cowards these days". Truer words were never spoken.
What’s funny about this deck is that if you’re allowed to proxy Reserved List cards, this deck suddenly becomes incredibly expensive. It’s got so many EDH and Modern pieces that just have an incredibly high demand. Here’s hoping that at least duals get taken off the RL.
Love your videos!! I built this and added one extra island and one ballista over 3 dismembers. Have not needed ballista yet but it feels good without the city
"something-something ponder keep, I forgot the rest" and "moments before disaster screenshot" (35:10) both have me laughing and I still have almost half the video left
i wish someone would do a chart with the history of the legacy metagame. it'd be so cool to see a timeline back to 1993, with all the sets and stuff broken out, and like a genealogy of the top 5 decks for that period
Something in me was really ok with keeping that first hand in game 1 of round 2. I know hindsight is 20/20 and all, you didn't know the matchup yet, and that the no land hand was something you'd want to mulligan, but with Force + blue card to protect against being cheesed and with multiple baubles giving you looks at stuff to do, the hand seemed like it had a gameplan. Of course the last card they had could have been the Pact of Negation for the full turn 1 dumpstering, but even then that would have just been a "welp... nothing I can do about it!" situation, haha.
Do any of the new artifacts from Ixalan look interesting to this deck? There are some cheap artifact cards that make multiple artifacts. I don’t think they would make it into a dedicated 8-cast deck, but they seem useful in an artifact beatdown deck.
Is LED too cute for this deck? I love seeing that card do fun things, and it plays well with Emry. Can drop an Echo of Eons in for the btfo if you have Hullbreacher in play.
If someone asked me which card I consider the single worst addition to all the formats in the last 10 years, I'd 100% of the time windmill slam Thassa's Oracle. Card is the worst
I remember your thread on doing it for the algorithm, but it was kind of disappointing to know ahead of time your opponent was going to take the trophy game based on the lack of an "undefeated" in the video title.
I love how this random 2 drop creature made mostly for limited is now one of the best threats in legacy and vintage
Artifacts are busted in Magic. The older the format, the more busted they become
And still a fantastic threat in Modern at that
And I'm currently exploring seeing if this card is Pioneer playable... I think it's possible too.
@@2007Shockwave heck, with all the new artifacts in Ixalan, I’m thinking about it in Standard
Scaling with protection is about all a creature needs to be good.

Thanks for sharing! Fwiw, don't hate the keep

God that round 3 Hull teacher @35:00... Pay 5 mana, give your opponent 5 treasures. Sent em straight to hell, jeez

I have had good success with "Forging the Anchor" in this shell! It is fun seeing standard print uncommons making such a splash in Legacy

Could definitely scrape the web for the data. Much easier for the last 10-15 years too.
Well you got me: If you can Dodge a Wrench. This is one of the only Decks in Legacy I own in Paper. Great to see a new version of it.
Love the thumbnail .... Remeber the five rules of Dodgeball everybody:
1. DODGE
2. DUCK
3. DIP
4. DIVE and ....
5. DODGE
It’s dodge duck dip dive dodge. How do you drift in dodgeball
@@keith81187 fix it ... but you can always drift :D
Huh, I didn't know Hullbreacher was a dedicated bean peddler lol
After what you said at 6:46 I was so ready for the opponent to go Swamp -> Innocent Blood
-G2 M1 hold the draw saying it's unlikely to be turn one combo out
-Proceeds being turn one combo out by perfect Doomsday Hand
Saw you on the profs channel, that was fun.
Awesome!
I vote for calling this deck 8-bash.
Let’s Gooo. Its Patching Time

While I may always call this shell 8-Cast, can't blame someone for calling this Dodgeball Stompy/Patches Stompy. XD
I've seen "enough" 8-cast decklists online with some plague engineers in Sideboard (naming orc i guess).
I will always love robot stompy decks. Patches needs an old frame printing.
What's the 1 easily replaceable reserve list card? City of Traitors?
I wouldn’t say easily. The 1 City of Traitors made a lot of hands keepable for m
Yeah. You can just play another Otawara or something without the deck taking a huge hit.
they gave hullbreacher flash for a reason ;)
Hello!
Hello!
RIP Rip Torn
I will try Mono Blue like 8 Cast with Painter at EW

Can drop an Echo of Eons in for the btfo if you have Hullbreacher in play.
There are decks that do that, but the Hullbreacher Echo package is just a different deck than this dedicated attacking version.

Am I crazy to think 2 maindeck Shadowspear isn't a bad idea to get em dead?
I remember your thread on doing it for the algorithm, but it was kind of disappointing to know ahead of time your opponent was going to take the trophy game based on the lack of an "undefeated" in the video title.
I am aware of the pros and cons but my thread you referenced explains in detail the motivations that ultimately land things where they are.
Hi BadBoros
This deck getting to play both force of will and chalice of the void is so gross
You might be able to dodge a wrench, but you're not dodging my like
Do you ever think we will get CEDH gameplay regularly on the channel? I would love to know your thoughts on the format in depth.
Regularly? No. I’ll do my tournament reports when I have events to report on, but cEDH gameplay flops hard with my usual audience.
@@BoshNRollI understand, thank you for at least doing tournament reports.
