At 6:55 you mentioned "coming out" and compared it coming out as Gay. In my experience, you are 100% correct, and not just from a California perspective. I'm in the Midwest (aka Fly Over Country) When I came out as Gay in the early 90's I never received a reaction of hate from anyone Yes, there was confusion and sadness by some, but never hate. But when my gay "friends" learned I voted for a few Republicans, I was verbally attacked time and time over. The hate from the Left was (and is) unrelenting. Thanks for the videos and stories.

    • @craigmak

They don't hate capitalism, they hate unfettered capitalism that leads to wealth concentration. Capitalism with strong benefits for the working and middle class is what most progressives want. In the past 30 years the middle class has seen zero growth in wages while the top earners have experience 1000% gains and more in their wages. All economic growth has been horded by the rich. This is capitalism being broken.

Gregory Peterman you seem unable to comprehend economic concepts. There is a happy medium when it comes to wealth disparity. We have crossed far beyond that ideal amount and entered into tyranny. ALL economic growth has went to the top and wages have stagnated for over 30 years.

    • @craigmak
      @craigmak 4 роки тому

Selfish Capitalist poor folks are not making as much as they did 30 or 40 years ago. They are far worse off. You mistake the advantages created by technological advancement for a better life. No, the poor and middle class are far worse off now than 30 years ago compared to the top 10%. Healthcare is far more expensive now, education is unattainable for the middle now. The University I went to has gone up 4x in price. Healthcare now causes more bankruptcies than any other cause. Childcare is astronomical compared to 30 years ago. Everything has skyrocketed and wages have not kept up at all. Why? Because the system was rigged by Reaganomics to funnel all the money to the rich and destroy the middle classes and provide no services or programs to jobs that used to be well paying with benefits and a pension.

I watched how a guy who I'd first encountered in Ebony magazines attending parties, events, getting awards for all of his help toward Black issues, Jesse Jackson, Sharpton and other Black people spoke so highly of him. To suddenly he was the "reincarnation of Hitler" during the election...I knew something was definitely not right and I came out as a Trump supporter and family and friends stopped talking to me and the 'Wild anger" was like something I'd never seen. I don't own a television, closed my Facebook to family and friends, I have 2 friends and only use it once a week to look at a health group I'm on! I see how people are being brainwashed to believe things that aren't true and when confronted with the truth in black and white it makes them angrier! It feels great to meet others who finally understand that The Democratic party has used Black people for votes whilst delivering absolutely nothing!

I listened to Dennis Prager and Larry Elder all the time, not because I agreed with them, but because they always had stimulating discussions. When I finally "came out" as a conservative...or at least started to question my beloved Democrat party...I lost about 90 percent of my former colleagues on Facebook and would get nasty messages and emails that often started out with, "what the hell happened to you? You use to be such a nice guy". As I opened my eyes and started to do my own research, I realized that my liberal, so-called "progressive" friends who claimed to have a monopoly on tolerance and acceptance, were some of the most unaccepting and hateful people I had ever known. I even have lifelong friends and family members who have unfriended me on Facebook.

My youth experience was very different from yours. I came from a supportive Christian family, and enlisted in the military at 17. My mother was a nurse, and had great compassion for others. My father was a blue collar union man who was proud of his trade, and could fix just about anything. When I was old enough to vote, I asked my father for guidance, regarding how I should register. After our conversation, I envisioned Republicans as a bunch of well-dressed, fat, pasty white guys, sitting in a high class room, culturally refined with the latest in sophisticated décor, nursing their top-shelf alcoholic drink of choice, surrounded by a cloud of smoke from their expensive cigars, as they discussed the lofty amounts of money they sought to protect from the government's taxes. My mental image of a Democrat differed quite a bit. The Democrat was America's "real worker". A person who wasn't afraid of sweat, and possessed the grit to conquer anything. I could imagine the Democrat as being the definition of a patriot, and that's what I wanted to be. I spent the majority of my life as a registered Democrat, but voting for the best candidate, whenever possible. I gradually watched the Democratic Party evolve into everything that opposed my core values. Even now, they support the killing of babies up until, and right after birth. There's no way I could ever let myself be associated with an organization like that. So, I'm now a registered Republican; my core values remain. They just seem to better align with the GOP.
And if you think you're going to get a fair shake from UA-cam as a conservative, prepare yourself to be disappointed. Get used to terms like "demonetized", "violates community rules", "contains hate speech" and "your channel has been taken down". But I truly wish you the best. "Thumbs up" from this Kentucky boy.

I wanted to vote but needed info. I also commute and couldn’t stand where pop radio was going..and I discovered some radio news that had another side to the story. I was a registered Dem for years but soon after I switched and will never turn back. I have a friend in Hollywood who shall remain nameless. I helped him defect from his socialist country. Part of the problem is that Progressives don't even understand that their ideology has terrible consequences. I know this because back when I identified as a Progressive, I thought it hyperbolic to conflate my ideology with Communism or Socialist failures; I scoffed at the term "Cultural Marxism" (not even understanding what the term meant, of course).
But then, as a Black person I began to notice this collective ideology with regards to race, on the Left.
In time I found that Marx's failure to distinguish people's cultures and individual strengths and weaknesses, contributing to the "inequality" he was railing against, was similar to Progressive ideology, which fails to distinguish, say, why the children of Nigerian Igbos do so incredibly well, while Black kids born in Detriot, by comparison, do not. I noticed especially how any Black person who deviated from the Progressive Program was treated to the most RACIST treatment imaginable.
In 2016 I had to make a mental break. I saw fully their contempt for working class folks, their hypocrisy, their ignorance and their imperviousness to reason, their fucking RACISM. I was over it. Haven't looked back.
...but I haven't come out of the closet yet. Just like this guy, I work in the arts. The arts is HEAVILY Left.

I was a Kennedy democrat from Mass. all my life.
    You are born into it.
After 13 years of living in Hollywood seeing first hand how things are, I realized no one ever spoke of morals, values or standards which have always had a place for me and will and not very many people I met acted like they had any of the big 3.
And I met all ranges of people.
    I'm a pretty universal guy.
I can hold my own with anyone.
Many of the people I met seemed to think they were entitled to some benefit and if or when they get it they were going to do this or that........
I also realized the echos of the Kennedy era had long since faded and that a mutation of democracy had come to prominence sharply visible during obama.
During the bush years as much as I didn't care for him, life had gone on as it always had.
    Nothing weird.
No radical agendas being foisted upon us.
No recognitional demands from micro minorities and no pandering or catering to them.
Different unsavory things started to creep in through the obama years that seemed to be lauded.
And I saw things visibly changing.
By 2012 I was beginning to consider myself a conservative after some distinctions had been pointed out to me about my life style and in sobriety and how I conduct my affairs.
As of then I've just been pushed further and further right in the name of defending myself and my beliefs.
It would have not been such an extreme transformation had the left not been pushing and pushing so many things so fast upon the country.
It seems like the goal is to prop up victim minorities be they what they will, while disenfranchiseing, marginalizing a very specific group of people in a demographic target.
Mainly white people.Middle aged white men being the center of the target for globalists.
To weaken them, to demoralize them, through news, commercials, propping up nobodys, new whacked out laws that make no sense, and so on which only pushes me more right and makes me stronger and many I know.
    Overall:
It is likely that few will be willing to just abandon all that they know and love and get on the Left's spaceship to hell.
I think there is a lot more moral fiber and backbone in this country than the modern day globalist left thinks.
History will show that those who host the monster are always first to be eaten.

I'm Hispanic and I love my family and yes I came out as a conservative after the whole caravans and Russia issues. That was more than enough for me to leave the left. So it has only been months for me. I still love my family but yes if politics are included in gatherings it's tough but they never have facts just what facebook people say... Glad I found your channel

You've now joined the 'thinking' people, good for you, good for us! We need to continue to push back against the people ('feeling' vs. 'thinking) people that are trying to strip and remove any and everything, thought, ideal, action that actually made America Great. Welcome!!

Dave I found your honest, insightful comments very refreshing. You hit the nail on the head on just about every topic you discussed. My first time voting was for Jimmy Carter. I knew nothing of politics but thought he was a “good guy”. I still feel that he is a good guy, but was also a not-so-great president. My switch to the conservative side came with my first job, but that’s a story for another time. Glad to be a new subscriber.

You are singing my song, bro. You are worth a second listen. One day I woke up, too, sleeping on the wrong side of the bed. Then I listened to Dave Ramsey and refused to get in debt. When I had some money, I "borrowed from myself" and "paid myself back". I learned self respect and refused the handout. I realized there were plenty of people out there willing to consider themselves virtuous while getting plenty of help (and actually ripping off) government, charities, churches, the bank, community agencies and plans, yes, and even people getting on the bus. Its great when people can help each other, but expecting it puts you into a whole other category. Now when I get help, its because I truly need it and i'm not robbing others who need it more. And even if I take help, maybe there is some thing I can do to give back, not saying everybody can, but maybe pay it forward.

@Slomofogo You are kidding, right? How about Refuse Fascism or CrimethInc., both Antifascist groups? How about Joseph "Chepe" Alcoff or Yvonne Felarca? The groups could car less about sitting down with the powers that be to hold sway in D.C. Their goals generally align with Anarchists and they are okay with using violence against anyone who they think have different views than themselves. Looks, sounds, feels and smells pretty much like fascism to me.
