Thank you for this! I'm going mountain biking in an area I haven't been before, but found a GPX file for the trail I want to use. Going to be awesome having it handy on my wrist.
Is it possible to join onto a course half way through and continue on it, on will the watch prompt you to join at the start of the course? Thanks for the video, hope my question makes sense.
Thousands of "Thank you"! Btw, what kind of maps do you use, BaseCamp, or may be OSM or something else? I use maps for the first time and as far as i noticed your maps open and zoom very fast, not like on my device (5s Plus)..
If you switch off all the maps other than the one you use , that should speed the watch up , I mainly use the talkytoaster map , other times I use the normal Garmin topo maps , both are quite fast
thanks. how would one address the '200 points for turn by turn navigation' limit on many such garmin devices? for example, for me it's common that i have very long routes, created by someone else which I must do. For these routes I typically have gpx or kml files I can use but as the garmin interprets them, they have more than '200 points' and the device will only offer turn-by-turn for first 200 points. in nearly all such circumstances, I'm also away from mobile/cell signal so even if I have my phone with me, it cannot sync to garmin servers.
When you download the gpx file , press the blue down arrow in the safari address bar , this should take you to the download section of safari , open the file , (which may open as a text file )and press the square with the up arrow in the top right of the screen and select Garmin connect , that should do the trick
with two fingers on the two buttons, it is difficult to tell which one you are selecting at any given time. Being clearer about which button you are selecting would be a huge help for garmin novices (me).
100% Thanks, I had struggled with this feature, Your instruction was spot on, Clear and EASY to under stand, a 5 star video
Thankyou , I’m about to relaunch the channel , so look out for more videos coming soon 👍

best tutorial iv seen ..explained really well, cheers for that 👌

I didn't even know my watch could do this! Thank you!

Very informative. Exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you for taking the time.

what's the best cheap Garmin watches for 100 miles and tracking with map
Super helpful
Thanks for the info .. just like to clarify, is Enduro here mean Enduro v1 or v2 ?
Great video. Really clear. Thank you!
Thanks for the great feedback
Good video , got the 6 pro but "hiking" isn't available as a course type when you edit it?
I noticed the same thing. It seems like a major oversight on Garmin's side because there's a lot of utility to be had from GPX based hiking routes.
Save the course as “other” then go back in to edit the course and you’ll see hiking as an option
Nice video! Can you do the same in Venu2?
Thank you :)
Spot on , thanks!
is possible upload a gpx track on Garmin Forerunner 45S 2?
I’m afraid not , sorry
Thanks
Thanks!
very helpful, thank you
Thanks 👍

I have the exact same problem and I'm about to thru-hike the American discovery trail so please share your knowledge - would be very appreciated
You can split the course up
Into manageable chunks , I.e stage 1 , stage 2 etc, this would get round the 200 point issue
Thank you! Great instruction
Thanks , more videos planned for 2022
Nice one. Thank's mate. 👍
Thanks , More videos coming soon 👍
I have vivoactive 4 and when i try to send map to my watch, it says you dont have any device that can support the map
Unfortunately the vivoactive won’t do this , you’ll need a fenix , epix or one of the higher forerunner models
@@hilux58 thanks for replying.
Great 👍🏻 Thanks buddy.
No problem 👍
thx!
Nice & Thanks :)
Thankyou
When I download the GPX file, it doesn’t allow me to open it in the Connect app?
I’m the same it doesn’t give the option for connect. How do we open it please ?
same problem at me, did you fix it?
Are you on android or iPhone
@@hilux58 iPhone

New updated videos coming shortly, which Garmin watch do you have ?
@@hilux58 I have the instinct solar. Thanks for the reply.
Thanks , I’ll look into this , I’m pretty sure it operates in the same way as the Fenix for navigation
Does this work on the 745?
Yes it does
How do you get a course on your watch if you don't have a phone?
You can do this through the Garmin connect website , or through the Garmin Basecamp desktop app
@@hilux58 Roger that.
Haha, recently bought a Venu 2 and found out that I can't use this feature..
Does this work for Garmin Forerunner 55?
Thanks!
No problem, new videos coming soon 👍
