On September 11, 1985, Rose entered the MLB history books forever by surpassing Ty Cobb's magnificent record of 4,192 hits, and raising it to 4,256 at the end of his career. In this way, they are the only two hitters to have exceeded 4,000 hits.
Rose's brand is considered one of the impossible to beat. Among other accomplishments, he also led the hits in seven seasons, just one behind Cobb. Six was playing for the Cincinnati Reds and one for the Philadelphia Phillies.
