I know what you mean, I’ll take a 200-300 cc model of this, maybe !!! A 500. Although they do have a 500 sr voom coming eventually which I will be buying 😂
I didnt know this bike existed until i just sat on one at a dealership while grabbing parts. This is a freaking awesome looking bike. The nailed the looks so well. Feels like a mini sport bike. Just bought a KTM but now i think i need onr of these too. Left the dealership and searched youtube and Chase delivered.
@JorgeMartinez-yu7hb I didn't drive it. Only sat on it. Yes it's 50 state street legal, but probably not freeway capable. It's not too small but the seating/peg position are definitely further back vs a Grom or similar bike where you sit much more upright with you feet more forward. Again it's like a mini sport bike in the wait you sit on it.
OC: Im 6'1" and I was pretty comfortable on it when I took it for a test ride for my video. The shift light will also help someone learning to ride if they've never driven/ridden a non-automatic vehicle. The aftermarket and available stock options from CFMOTO really makes me want to see what aftermarket MFG could do to take advsntage of it.
OC: I'd definitely recommend a mini bike to anyone into a lil hooligan fun and wants to wheelie anywhere and everywhere. Honestly you can't go wrong with the Grom or Papio.
I'm thinking about the papio whilst I wait for delivery of my 40th anniversary (4-7week wait) I sold my 5spd Grom with thousands of kms for more than what I paid years prior 🎉. Benelli 135 was so much better for Australian roads (110kmh where I am and Grom can't hit the speed limit unlike the 135 that hits rev limiter)
@@mdazriarifin1573just like the Grom I'd say you are going to need attention on oil pump. Maybe add straw pick up design. Especially if you are good at mono the longer it's up the longer without oil going where it's needed
I bought my mini moto to see if I will be able to ride again. I was in a serious motorcycle accident 4 years ago. I’m just getting back to my normal routine. So far so good. I’m loving it. (RPS Condor150)
For a guy in his late 30's looking to learn to ride, this bike keeps coming up for me. I REALLY cannot get over how cool it looks, even as a minimoto. Would be perfect for my city commute (instead of my gas pig Tundra)
right there with you, late 30s, just passed msf recently. looking to now buy my first bike to just put put around town. Was thinking of getting a z125 but this thing and its looks are whats selling it for me. It's just too cute to pass up. Going to a dealership later this week to sit on one and see if I'll actually like the feel.
In the same boat here (but with a Ram 1500 😂) and I’ve been eyeing a Navi for my first commuter bike and for just puttering around town with the homies.
Cool little bike. I was checking out a bike shop today and was like what is that ?? Reminds me of a little late 80's GSXR shrunk down with no lower fairing. I loved the little Yamaha YSR 50's back in the day... This is probably better. I was hoping it was larger than a 125 but cool all the same. I am thinking on getting one
OC. Already have two mini motos, a 2022 Honda Navi and a 2023 Honda Grom. I REALLY like the looks of the Papio SS to the point that I’m really debating selling it and buying one.
I’m getting a grom this weekend! Minimotos seem so fun. Can’t wait to start this project by adding mods. Already have a Ninja but want a toy to bop around town with.
I went to look at one because pictures looked cool. In person it reminded me of one of those Walmart bicycles with plastic panels to look like a motorcycle. I like some things about it but it’s no grom.
I bought a Z125 for my son to learn the basics. He is doing great but did fall bending the handlebars. Do you think those clip-one will fit the Z125? I love the look.
OC: When it comes to mini-bikes, I will most likely go for the Papio-CL (The Mini Supermoto one), or a 2023 Papio depending on availability. I love the GROM as well, but something about the Papio just stands out to me more, especially the CL.
11:00 you probably will want to do a 190 or 212cc swap on that thing. Just you pegging it more than 5-10% of the time, means you need more power. 14:20 you should be able to increase the rear shock height
Im still on the fence. I like the looks of papio SS and CL but the only reason i have been hesitant is that the grom has legendary durability, best fuel economy, and soooo many after market parts. Im a mechanic, if i knew i could get replacement parts and after market parts for one of these id go with it in a second.
Great video. Whats your thoughts on the gearing? Picked up a grom recently, as a 230ish lb guy i barely use 4th as it cant keep my ass moving. Do you find the extra gears on the Papio make any difference? - Cheers
OC, I'm looking at a mini moto as my first bike while I'm in college and then upgrade to an MT-07 or something similar in the future. Due to the high demand of the grom it tends to be more expensive and I really don't care if its a honda. So, I'd probably get something like the Z125 Pro or the Papio SS/CL
You’d have a blast doing a downhill canyon run with it. Maybe ride down Pikes Peak toll road. Full size bikes you can’t bomb downhill canyons without getting into felony territory.
im lookin in to one and found there is a Japanese racing modal the papil xo 1 you can get the xo1 ecu witch is apparently unrestricted and one that add 25% power
It's really nice to see more efforts put into the mini moto scene! But sadly I just don't think this competes with the Grom. Your notes on MPG are bad. So if you are wanting to fill up it's 1.9 gallon tank after 77 miles that's telling me this thing must only be getting 50-60 mpg? That's kinda terrible. Literally half what a Grom gets? I do have to admit the styling on the Papio SS and CL are pretty good, cooler than the Grom from some angles. Also I like that the Papio is a 6 speed, hard to have too many gears, lol. But the fit and finish and switchgear isn't up to the level of the Grom. It's also 10% heavier than a Grom. And of course can't touch the Grom's reputation and aftermarket. Then there is the hidden factor of better resale value on the Grom, so the price difference is kind of a non-issue.
Different concept, but if CF Moto made this design for a larger bike-something in the 300-400cc range with two cylinders-I’d buy one tomorrow! Personally, I wouldn’t get much use out of a mini moto in the area I live in.
I really adore this little bike and as a smaller female rider I want to get one. Not really as a ride with my friends bike or anything but maybe as an around town small errands kind of thing. I am still searching for a bike to get as my first since Kawasaki doesn't sell the 400 anymore, I'm looking at a few right now and I do want to get a 300cc as my first. Not a mini. But I still wanna get this to maybe add to my collection.
I’m on the fence. I got offered a brand new papio ss for my 2009 klx250sf. The papio seems awesome but my biggest concern is reliability. My klx is a tank and I don’t know if sacrificing reliability for a niche toy is worth it. Im not opposed to riding mini motos since my new job it less than 6 miles away and a previous owner of a Benelli tnt135. But there are a handful of groms with 70/80k miles and my klx250sf has a reputation for 40/50k miles before it needs a rebuild. I want to love the papio but I just don’t see enough info about cf moto as a whole.
OC I really like the look of the ss alot. But I don't think I would like the body position that much. But I do want a 3rd motorcycle to be a mini moto. I have thought about getting the honda adv 150 instead. It's more practical for traffic and city riding and has alot of built in storage.
I have been considering getting this model for a while now and I think I'm sold now. I have been riding bikes for years but my parents refuse to let me get anything big even at 18y/o, we also have lots of curves where I live so I think this would be perfect for hitting those curves :)
Hey kid you are going to love any bike you get. I'm Australia so we don't have the variety others do. I like the KLX 150 but like the Grom & z125 they are no longer road legal here. I've had a Benelli TNT 135 which is also cheap and blast to ride. Continue to work hard and save and in a few months you could even buy crf300la (a is abs). Stay safe bro and enjoy your life. No rush
I tried one at a dealership. Its nice in person but the clutch is stiff. I have an injury on my left hand and I was hoping the clutch was going to be softer. So I had to pass on it.
OC... Is it the lack of power that makes it more difficult to wheelie, because it seems to be the body positioning would be similar to a sport bike and people wheelie those all the time... but, again, could be power related in addition to body position.
77 mpg?! My 22 Grom with a slip on gets well over 100mpg. On the 1.6G tank, I can cruse PCH and the Malibu hills all day. 150+ miles to a tank. I do like the look of the Papio though
The monkey is the best looking finished mini moto…what killed it me is the gas mileage ….u can get twice the mileage from Honda….just for a little more can get a speed 400
Guys they are releasing a big bike version of this called the 500SR VOOM, look it up, it's fuckin amazing I'm saving up for when that drops and I'm buying it day 1!!!
I have a question so I just bought this bike and they say don’t ride it hard in the break in process. On the back roads I 50 mph and less in 5th gear. Is that riding it hard ???
You are definitely not following recommendation for running in. Cf moto says keep it under 4,000rpm, which in 6th gear is about 30mph. Don’t open too much throttle to accelerate either. Give it a good 600 miles to get the engine gently run in. Or don’t cry later when you’ve lost compression and are burning a quart of oil every 500 miles 😅
Wow 2 gallons for 77 miles? That cannot be right. A 10 HP engine couldn’t burn that at wide open throttle and only cover 77 miles. You are talking at least double that range even at WOT. Really
