Beautiful area. I will be there mid march. Looking forward to some amazing landscape. Thank you for posting. 👍
I hope you have a great time. You might get some wild flowers added to the mix. Thanks so much for watching.
I enjoyed watching it. It reminded me of the one time I was able to visit Death Valley.
Thanks so much for giving a watch Stefan. It's much appreciated. Hopefully you get to visit again someday, or maybe someplace else. Sometimes I struggle with whether or not I should return to the same area or go somewhere new.
Definitely a place on my bucket list. Thanks so much for the impressive shots.
Make it happen. You'll have a great time. Thanks for giving a look.
@@DavidSafanda Thx so much. I definitely need to see that place.
WONDERFUL - Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching. Much appreciated.
This is more than photography. This is art photography, big like.
Thanks so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch. Much appreciated.
The Alabama Hills sunrise was really special! Definitely enjoyed the sand dunes, too, especially the comparison to waves of fog. "You gotta go home"
Thanks so much for giving a watch Mitch. As Jared commented down below, the burrow sort of stole the show. :)
Such a great video, David! I loved listening to your interpretation of what you saw and experienced with the landscapes there. And that donkey at the end!! 😍
You're kind Jennifer. Thanks so much for watching. Much appreciated. I did not feed that burrow but someone must have because he trotted right over and stuck his head in the window 😀
Wow...... Just WOW!!
Hi Justin. Thanks so much for watching. I thought of you when I saw photos of snow in Sedona recently. I'm guessing you're buried in work at the moment but it sure looked fun.
Just beautiful . Made my first trip out last year . First of many as I now get the draw .
It's pretty amazing right? Can't wait to go back in a couple months
Awesome David!
Thanks Chris. Much appreciated. Are you back in the Bay Area? I feel like I saw something from here but wasn't sure if it was current.
Nice work David! Man those conditions are 4:14 are what I had at the hills a few years back. Some of the most spectacular photography conditions possible! Really stunning work in the dunes too.
Thanks so much for giving a watch Brian. You're not kidding. I've been to Alabama Hills a number of times before but that was the first and only time I've managed to be there with dramatic light during a clearing storm. I wish I could bottle it and relive it whenever I want.
Very enjoyable watch David. It bought back some of my most cherished memories of walking into those dunes in the pitch black and watching it come alive. You came away with a nice set of images. I especially like your work from the Alabama Hills. I have been there but have always found it a challenging place to capture. Also...I liked the way you created the title segment 0:11 using one of your images in an artistic way. At least it looked like you did.
Hi Graeme. Thanks so much for the kind words. I know you've been to Death Valley many times and love it as much as I do. Conditions were a little less interesting than I've had in past years but I still had fun. It seems like there's always something there to photograph.
👏👏
Thanks for giving a watch Mihaela
You have a nice artistic flare to your videos that stand out from the rest! Well done
That's nice of you to say Cheycon. Thanks so much for watching. It's much appreciated.
Great video, David! It looks like you took a similar route that I did since I also live in NorCal, just a few hours inland from you. You came away with some great work but I gotta say that burrow stole the show at the end! Well done man.
Hi Jared, Thanks so much for giving it a watch. Conditions were a little less interesting than past years but I still had a great time and managed to get a few images I like. My wife had the same reaction to the burrow. I was like...yeah but did you like the rest of the video? lol
Beautiful imagery!
Thanks so much for watching Patricia. Much appreciated.
Fantastic video and amazing images! I was in Death Valley a few weeks ago with my dad, and your work was an inspiration.
Thanks so much for the kind words Matthew. I hope you had a great time and managed to get some images you're happy with. I never get as much as I hope for but always have a fun time in DV.
@@DavidSafanda Yeah, lots of great images! A little disappointed with the dunes because of footprints everywhere but made the best of it.
@@matthewnielsen2912 Gotcha. It takes wind to erase those footprints. Best time to visit the dunes is right after a night of high winds.
Great video, David! I made my first trip to Death Valley in late February, and it is a truly magical place. Although I am still trying to get all the sand out of my gear! The Alabama hills was on my agenda, but time ran out and it's a long drive back to Portland! Can't wait to go back.
That's awesome Doug. Hope you had a great time. Yeah, the sand can be overwhelming. Sometimes I need a break from the dunes.
@@DavidSafanda , the Mesquite Dunes where definitely what I was looking forward to the most, and they did not disappoint! My first sunset on them there were 20+mph winds, and that wasn’t much fun. The next morning for sunrise was perfectly calm. Blue hour was not nearly long enough!
@@dougheizenrader2280 Cool! Shooting in the wind is difficult but the wind is what you need to erase footprints and get pristine looking dunes
Nice work David. nice edit. I'm sure you put much work into this to bring this content to us. For someone that is in Canada and makes a living shooting people, it's nice to see this landscape and another photographers perspective. keep grinding your channel. You'll get your edit pacing right and you'll find your audience. I loved the use of maps, your B roll was really great as well as your VO. Some of your shots hold just a bit too long, but the storytelling is on point, you had my attention. Keep pushing out this content, your photographs are lovely to see in this format. video is an amazing tool for marketing. make sure this video is embedded on your website, it's a great promo for you as a shooter.
Thanks so much for the feedback Steve. It's much appreciated. I probably spend more time on it than I should but it's been fun so far so I'm going to try and do more. The editing pace seems like it's always a tricky balance, I think your comments are on point.
@@DavidSafanda we gotta stick together.
@@DavidSafanda these edits take ages .. I can tell how much you love photography. your passion comes through. the edit is a great process for us. I'm growing to love it.
Beautiful David. Enjoyed the video. Do you ever encounter rattlesnakes there? I noticed the sign posted and just wondered how often you encounter one?
Thanks so much for the kind words Philip. It's much appreciated. I have never seen a rattle snake in Death Valley but to be fair I haven't spent a ton of time in the more remote areas. It's a good question.
