Awesome video, very insightful. I've heard that people don't run into these issues if they have an Intel motherboard, compared to AMD. Any thought's on this?
I have no heard such a thing about issues not existing on Intel. I do know that with Intel and built in Thunderbolt is a better experience without fiddling with settings is better experience and my add in card I show with Intel there is no need to change the pins out used. Intel owns the rights to Thunderbolt and the setup for it is easier. What I show at the end of the video is Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio works 100% without any special software. In fact the software fix won't at all work with Mixcraft. I never built an Intel thunderbolt system to find out if there is any difference in compatibility with this interface. There is nowhere online that has verified any difference other than AMD systems being more complex to setup and Intel being more reliable with it as would be expected since Intel owns the tech.
A search of comments on the Intel shows several people with Intel based systems having issues as well. It's not just AMD. Example Razer Blade 15 and the Apollo, the CPU is Intel based and has built in thunderbolt port.
@@sparkestudio Gotcha, thanks for the reply. I'm in the process of building a new PC with the latest Intel processor (14th gen) and other high end parts. I just want to make sure that the new Gen 2 apollo interfaces are compatible with this computer before I buy it. I know that I still might run into issues since many people have discussed having issues with it, but I'll give it a shot. The motherboard will have thunderbolt 4 ports, so I think everything should go smooth. I'll keep you updated for the sake of everyone else's knowledge!
Totally agree. Mac computers seem to not have issues. Windows PCs are and have been a problem for years with these interfaces and Universal Audio has know that for years. Out of curiosity are you using an Intel or AMD based PC?
You're an absolute lifesaver. I have fought for a week trying to figure out why my wdf01000.sys latency was so high with this interface and this fixed my issue. Many thanks!
@@4fabo Mac is the way to go with the Apollo ONLY because Universal Audio refuses to support Windows properly. Techie people that know how to do things like stick in 8Tb of storage paying normal prices aren't going pay the Mac tax. Can you fit 8Tb or even 16Tb onto your Mac walking into the store and do it yourself or upgrade the PC instantly? UA APollo is the only interface of the 15 or more I have used that has issues.
