I can really see why people liken missiles with gambling, the dopamine is indeed strong when ToT strikes happen well.

The beam backup weapons feel really nice.
I enjoy Missile CH/DD cus of this; even if the missile game was abysmal, there's still a beam to fall back on. alternatively, if the missiles all hit their mark, there's always a shuttle to beam anyway, so it's nice to have.
