I did part of my medical internship on a reservation and in migrant worker encampments. I went home each day and cried about the conditions these beautiful, hardworking people in the US are FORCED to endure. I took my children with me to one of the migrant camps near us and my daughters told me last Thanksgiving that the experiences they had with me are what inspired them into doing volunteer work as adults…and my wonderful late Son’s world travels, volunteer work and eagerness to build bridges between cultures. I just wish more American parents..and young people here as a whole; would visit and spend time in our minority areas and Native American lands. Not only is it an eye opening experience with the people, but the culture; whether it’s eating a REAL Mexican feast; or visiting the ancient cave villages of the Native Americans; make a permanent impression on your life.
I just thought of something. Before my Son died, it wasn’t unusual for us to have VERY long conversations-unfortunately, usually on the phone because he traveled so much. During these conversations we would “fake fight” as we played Devil’s Advocate to each other’s ideas..OR we’d tease each other. I won’t go into TOO much detail except to say I teased my Son as to certain things his birth (and BIG head! 😂) did to my body..or breaking my nose when he was less than 2yrs old. (Tomato Sauce cans can be brutal 😂). Then HE teased me..saying I “brainwashed” them from a young age “dragging us to the hospital to play with sick, lonely children on Christmas”, taking them to homeless shelters and migrant camps. I took them to multiple churches, temples and other faith and cultural celebrations. He said they had no choice but to become “bleeding heart socialists”. I assured him, if there’s one thing I ALWAYS made sure they had-it was “choices”. Well, when they were old enough anyways. 😁

But, it’s also wonderful to remember the special relationship we had and those goofy, 4 hour conversations, like the night before he died. He’d called and his first question after our usual silly greetings was “mama, I’m serious now, I’m cooking. Is it a sin to put LaoGanMa Crispy into Chicken Tikki Masala?” 😂 He was cooking a large multinational meal for friends to celebrate the renewal of his VISA to China. 🥰

It's not considered a "beer" as the alcohol content is very low. It's the traditional drink in the Islamic part of the heartland of the Eurasian continent. The Uyghur name for it I believe is called "Kavas", and I believe similar drinks consumed by Muslim populations in the "Stan" countries are called a name w a very similar sound.

I told the people here that is now true, but they are more willing to believe their biased news. I'm really upset to see the people be misled by their media. Here is an easy one to show people. The chinese 100 yuan note has uyghur script (google it), it also has the other 3 scripts from the other 3 major ethnic groups mongol, zhuang and tibetan. Why in god's name would the chinese govt put the writing of a people it is trying to genocide on its paper money.
Another one: I started digging into tibet. Found this the US State Dept website. Google: us state dept office of the historian memorandum 303 tibet. two jabs should suffice, most Chinese are traveling with 2 jabs. Of course getting the 3rd jab is safest for yourself. I think when you enter they might make some documentation if you are foreigner because of foreign press going there before and putting out hit pieces against the Xinjiang local government. Other than that, Xinjiang is like any other province but with a lot of central asian styled structure.
If barber shops in Xinjiang have beautiful Xinjiang ladies (Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and other minorities) cutting/washing your hairs, it going to attract many tourists especially the Han Chinese. In Shenzhen, my hair always washed by one of charming ladies before hair cut.

two jabs should suffice, most Chinese are traveling with 2 jabs. Of course getting the 3rd jab is safest for yourself. I think when you enter they might make some documentation if you are foreigner because of foreign press going there before and putting out hit pieces against the Xinjiang local government. Other than that, Xinjiang is like any other province but with a lot of central asian styled structure.

If barber shops in Xinjiang have beautiful Xinjiang ladies (Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and other minorities) cutting/washing your hairs, it going to attract many tourists especially the Han Chinese. In Shenzhen, my hair always washed by one of charming ladies before hair cut.
