This is pretty huge. Thank you for putting this info out here, and be much more clear on the issue of getting the master rights to a song. Excited to see how this goes.
"As made famous by" wow, if that isn't bringing me back to the classic Guitar Hero games. But in general, great to hear something about what the plans for Rocksmith are. Now I just wish some of the geo restrictions could be eased.
very clear explanation, thanks! it is definitely better to get some version of a tricky to license song than none at all, especially if you still pursue the masters when possible
After my review last year i have paused learning with Rocksmith. But i have followed you always for Updates. Ive seen some good updates, there's still a long way to go, to become the Community on your side. Go for it 🎸👋🎸
Wow!!! What a clear explanation. This is exactly what I needed to hear to subscribe to Rocksmith+. I will do it to support you and hopefully you will release more and more good songs as the money starts flowing in from having more customers.. THANK YOU!!! UPDATE: I will not be renewing my subscription for an unfinished product after the ridiculous price increase. Thanks but no thanks.
I recently let my subscription lapse, but a couple months of solid covers will get me to resub knowing it's heading in the direction I was always hoping.
Can you please give us more anime songs in the UK, like sign flow and naruto theme 16 they are already in the game in other regions. + more Iconic Anime songs and Openings in general. Survive Said The Prophet - MUKANJYO ,Crossing Fields Lisa, JAM Project - THE HERO , one piece openings etc
Untill rocksmith puts this back on the console then I won't use it. All they keep doing is giving excuses on why it's not on the console. The other two were on the console and no problem. I actually still use remastered 2014. There is no excuse that is acceptable at this rate when they have it on Android and iPhone. Any console can out perform an android phone and iPhone. There is enough from the 2014 version I will never have a need to upgrade.
Sounds interesting, but the presenter ignored the issues of Region Locking. Essentially, players in the EU are paying the same subscription cost as the US and Canada subscribers, for an inferior service. Please spend more time on this issue. It matters!
I agree with the arcade games. 2014 allowed people to learn in different ways. It was very inclusive and ahead of its time. + feels like a step backwards. Pretty sure the team working on it know this. Maybe they will get around to adding some extra into +, one day.
So... you want Ubisoft to pull some of the team off of the somewhat struggling 'Rocksmith+', have them determine the cost of relicensing songs for 'Rocksmith 2014' globally (which would be on-disc only and not even the DLC), negotiate contracts for an unknown (but presumably short) amount of time, sell to dozens or maybe a couple hundred people, at most, have to pull the game from digital stores again after the contract expired, and then have to deal with the tens (or even hundreds) of thousands of dollars lost from a lack of sales? And this makes sense to you?
Too little, too late ! I'm a great fan of the RS franchise since 2013 and I have no problem with the subscrition model but... My subscription to RS+ will expire in a few days (after 15 months) and I won't renew it. 8200+ songs is great but the most part with chords only (only 1700 songs with solo) and a lack of titles that I love. I'm now back to RS2014 : I have nearly 500 great titles I paied for, with Queen, Green Day, The Offspring, Foo Fighters, Weezer, U2, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Black Keys, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, blink-182... and much more music which I really love to play. Sorry Rocksmith+ (Of course, I will continue to look from time to time to this channel to see how things evolve.)
I've still got no reason to move over to Rocksmith+ Sorry, the songs may be many but they are not classic Rock. Also the subscription model sucks. Appreciate all the work the team does, but Ubisoft prioritised $$$$$ over the optimal learning experience for players. If I could play the songs I own in RS1 and 2014 in + - I would think about trying it again.
Dude, Ubisoft is pushing this garbage so bad that they removed the option to buy 2014 on Xbox/ Playstation in order for everyone to get this crappy membership... They're slowly killing this franchise with their greedy practices, just like they killed Just Dance...
@@bennyezzy, it seems you're confused or didn't pay attention over the past three years. Both games were on 10-year contracts, hence being removed. Why would you expect the team to keep selling something they didn't have licenses for...?
Ubisoft is pushing this garbage so bad that they removed the option to buy 2014 on Xbox/ Playstation in order for everyone to get this crappy membership... They're slowly killing this franchise with their greedy practices, just like they killed Just Dance...
No, they killed it because they only had the rights to the songs for ten years. All of the rights for the original release are now gone, and a new deal would have to be cut. This is also why DLC is regularly expiring. If they were to sell new copies of Rocksmith 2014, they would come with absolutely no licensed music.
@zeten that's completely true, but there's plenty of US that spent hundreds of dollars on DLC. So, it would be a way of actually preserving the authenticity of this Gem.
@@bennyezzy I think RS2014 is better for consumers for sure, because it doesn't depend on Ubisoft to keep operating a subscription product. It's just incompatible with what the music industry, a classically consumer-hostile group held hostage by the record labels, wants.
0:53 Ah yes, the artists already done in Rocksmith 2014, supressed on Steam to get renewed in R+ Nah, still don't want your subscription model, i keep my bought songs and Rocksmith 2014 remastered. As other streaming services too greedy, you will learn that a large portion of players want to earn and keep their favorites songs for decades, not being at the mercy of a compagny that can modify or supress any songs at any time. There's TOO MANY subscription services that cost a an arm and a leg out there. Also, removing Rocksmith 2014 from store is such a move.
@@andrewmccreary1021 Perhaps they could have updated 2014 to Rocksmith 2022 and renewed the licences and brought some of the new titles in RS+ in? Also, this is a single player learning experience. So the fact that you can't play RS+ offline is crap, where RS2014 on PC allows you that freedom. Honestly, the subscription model was a greedy move by Ubisoft that cannot be justified.
@@Major_Lexx, they couldn't have. Not only was 'Rocksmith 2014' a dinosaur in the music streaming age well before the last DLC was published, but the Gamebryo engine did not have the headroom needed for the upgrades you would have wanted in a potential 'Rocksmith 2022'. Piano wouldn't have gotten added. We wouldn't have the better audio quality that we do in 'Rocksmith+'. Better note detection might not have been possible. Lower note detection on 5-string bass? Absolutely not. We almost definitely wouldn't have had ASIO support for audio interfaces, either. The team chose the smart option of moving forward, not staying in the past. As great as 'Rocksmith 2014' was, you honestly think receiving one update in 10 years was a good thing...?
@@RideTheLightning93 Well I did say "perhaps". I gave Rocksmith + a solid go for 6 months. Short of having to be online, missing other ways to play the game, and having a music line up that does not suit my old man Rock tastes, the team have done a good job I guess. It's the subscription model and Ubisoft's greed that I'm not cool with. Ubisoft could have resourced the team to provide more than 1 update in 10 years as well, Maybe? I did like the the You Am I got a look in, in +. Anyway, Lets hope that they are making enough cash off peoples subby's to get the CCO, VP and the next lot of senior employees out of the clink.
For FS I know that. Of course its an excuse to push foreward players. It doesn't excuse the subscription model (the licences could have been applied to retrocompatible bought DLC in a new "pay & and keep" game and most of all, the fact they made disapear R2014 Remastered from the store as a greedy move. Its more or less the same idea of streaming services raising their price, then do a "cheap" version with commercials in it to justify what was the basis at start.

Excited for this update. Licensing is a nightmare, and it’s good to explain the process. Covers are 100% fine by me.

Needs multiplayer and VOICE!!!!! More scales, more practice stuff.
Good explanation on licensing. But this should have been done before launch. You alienated a lot of your base.
Cool. Which parties own which rights? Who usually own the master rights and who owns the publishing rights?
Meshuga on a 6 string? Interesting. Is that a hint that 7 & 8 string incorporation is in the future?

Are there strumming patterns in the plus version?.
how much are you going to charge for piano once the beta is over?
Piano will be included in your subscription.
